For the past 2 or 3 days my emails to the Consulate in Cairo have been being returned as undeliverable. I'm using this address: ConsularCairoIV@state.gov which is the address on emails I have received from them, and also the same address I have emailed to before.

Is anyone else having this problem? Or do you have another email address? It is being returned by the "postmaster@state.sbu". So I assume this is not a hotmail/msn problem.

Thanks for any other email address or guess why this is happening.

Could that happen if you email them too many times? I just got an email from them and used that address.

I got the same thing a few months ago on the weekend. I tried again on Monday and it went through. Another time I couldn't get it to go through with my yahoo address and was getting the return message and sent it from my work email and it went through....strange but I have had two different situations.

Thanks for any other email address or guess why this is happening.

tell us what the error code says. A lot of times they don't check their email for days. (nice huh??????) and any emails that come after the point of which their email server is full get kicked out. I could tell by the error message that that happened. It's like they take a few weeks off from looking at emails or something.
MelindaandTarek
Yes I believe Bridget is right - this happened to me a few weeks back...try to email first thing in morning....good luck!!

Could be their box is full. Keep trying to resend. Try to avoid sending any e mails on a Thursday, Friday, and even Saturday.

YES it just means when you are trying the box is full or the server is experiencing difficulties. Once I did it 4 times......3 came back and forth took. Then once I tried 5 times in row and all came back. But it is the only email address for them. Try at a different time of day. Also remember how the connection can be in Egypt sometimes.....may just be a server problem at the moment you are sending it. Good Luck.

So far it hasn't come back today... I guess 4th time's the charm... smile.gif And frankly I've been impressed by how quickly they usually respond. Unforunately their responses usually only answer 1/2 my questions, but so far I've never had to wait more than about 4 days to get a reply. We'll see if my luck holds out.

Here's the error message:
