For question 7 on the I-134, i am unemployed and am a student (yes i have a joint sponsor who exceeds the 125% for gross and for net(even though after taxes he only exceeds it by 200 dollars, but everyone has a different opinion on whether it is 125% poverty before taxes or after taxes are taken away))
question 7 is: I am employed as or engaged in the business of____with ___ at ___ etc. in other words, where you are employed.

-do i put STUDENT or UNEMPLOYED or UNAVAILABLE or NONE or N/A? if i do student, do i put the school instead of the business?

(again, this is for when I fill it out, not for the joint sponsor's form)
thanks everyone (this forum is the best!)

-also: i am ordering the tax transcripts for my joint sponsor last 3 years and for myself for two years (not this one, because we havent filed yet) but i have W2s and 1040 and tax return for this year (which makes it 3 years in total) so is this correct? (i also have bank statements for both of us, and employment statement for the sponsor). i hope im on the right track...

"Student" is your best bet. Since you don't work for the school, I wouldn't recommending putting (possibly) misleading information)

Sounds like you're on top of things. Recent pay stubs wouldn't be a bad thing either good.gif

My experience:

The embassy gave my wife a very hard time before she was able to obtain the VISA. This is because of my mistake for forgetting to write my derived income on the line. They said, "I have no income" and handed my wife all my financial documents . They said to return with someone who has income.

I fixed that by writing my income on the that derived income line. What a relief.

Remember, fill everything in!

I think you're Ok with these things. One thing that would help you is to write an explanation letter about why you are unemployed for now, and if you're planing to get a job soon.
