Hi! I received our interview date last week for USEM for Apr 3, 2008. Im preparing now my affidavit of support. My salary on my regular job is I think more than the poverty level. In addition to that, I have several 1099 forms (Independent contractor) from 3 companies I have worked on from last year and another 1099 form from my rental home. Total salary of around 100K from last year. My question is, should I include my two properties and all my W2's/1099 forms on my affidavit of support? And if I include those properties, how would I answer the question from I 134: I own real estate valued at: and With mortgage(s) or other encumbrance(s) thereon amounting to: $? Especially right now with the US economy, those properties actually fell in prices so I think I owe more the the actual value of those houses now. I'm just a little lost about I-134 right now, I can make things simple and just present 1 W2 (around 75K) but I will be presenting my latest ITR and all of those things from what I mentioned above will reflect on the ITR form for 2007. So ultimate question is, should I just present 1 W2 or present everything? Thanks for your reply!
If your present job is 75k then you are way above the poverty level, the employment letter from your boss and your W2s from that job and you 1099 form should be ok. If your regular job had you below the poverty level then you could go ahead and include all your other income. I find that the federal tax transcript takes the guessing out of everything.
