Hello Everyone,
I was shocked to receive an email today that states: On March 5, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). I have been waiting for my NOA2 and it looks like they just skipped right over that step and made an approval. I have not received my notice in the mail yet. Maybe I will get that tomorrow. Elvira and I have the same birthday. It will be great to spend this day together in the Summer. I know we still have more paperwork to do but it is exciting to have some good news:)
Did the approval come from the US Dept of State? I believe the next step is for your fiance to start working on her documents so she can submit them to the US Consulate where your fiance resides. If this is the next step...please please make sure to get her vaccinations in order ASAP. This is where most of the delays can occur.
And once she gets here, no time for honeymoon. Get married asap within 90 days before the visa expires. Keep the wedding simple...do a civil. the objective is to file it IMMEDIATELY. Allow yourselves enough time to gather documents. The more you delay it, the difficult it gets to catch up. Do the honeymoon later. After getting married, file for an i-485 asap before that 90 days has run it's course.
