My husband seems to understand all of this a bit better than I... But i was under the impression we've only just got our NOA1... however he says we've already gotten the second.. can anyone tell me if we have infact got the second?...

We sent off the I 130 Dec 4th.. they recieved on the 5th.. the first bit of paper we got in the post says at the bottom it is form I-171.. at the top.. Notice of approval of relative immigrant petition.. date petition filed.. Dec. 5, 2007.. Date of Approval of Petition.. Feb 12, 2008..

Then.. we got a letter that also had all of the information.. the checklist..medical etc..

Dear blah blah.. we are pleased to inform you that we have received an approved visa petition on your behalf............ followed by brief instructions...

Now.. was that our NOA2?... we've sent off a bit of paper in it that they asked to get back ASAP.. he's done his medical.. we're now waiting on the sponsor from the states to send over their bit..

also.. does anyone know if there is some sort of 'waiting list' to getting the interviews?.. I know it must vary.. but like.. once we're ready to go to an interview.. are we going to have to wait for months before they can see us.. or is it more like a couple of weeks or something?..

Thanks!

Based on what you mentioned, it sounds like a DCF (direct consular filing). Your husband filed with American consulate in UK. Usually, DCF moves lot quicker.

This forum should guide you better http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=82

Also, you could browse regional discussion forum for UK where people with similar experiences and filing could help you.

Hope this helps, cheers!
