I called tonight and our petition was received at the NVC today!
Man, they are SO nice on the phone, I was blown away!

It's funny: I'm from Canada too (Montreal) and also got NOA2 approved on March 3!
When you called NVC did you just have to mention your receipt number for them to give you the status for your case?
I really hope everything keeps moving fast and smoothly for us!! (although Montreal embassy seems to be pretty slow don't you think?)

Yes, call the number 603-334-0700 and an automated voice will come on.
They give you a menu, hit number 2. It's for the K visas..it says it, so just listen for it.
You'll wait a few minutes and get the NICEST person on the phone...lol I couldn't believe how nice they were.
Tell them you are just checking to see if your petition has made it to the center and that you have a USCIS number.
Give them the number, they will then ask for the beneficiaries full name and birthday.

Mine arrived at NVC two days after NOA2 and left NVC for London two days after that...

laura is spot on. the lady i spoke to was very nice and willing... shetold me they received my case on the 28th of feb and it was sent on to the embassy
on the 29th of feb and she gave me my case number...
looking at the dhl deliverys i can see that mines was delivered on 3rd of march...
it seems to be wizzing along now...just need to packet 3 to proceed with the same speed..so i can get to interview already

The problem with NVC's automated system is that you need to have the new number NVC assigns to your case to use it---and you can't get that without talking to a real person first. And it doesn't give you the option of waiting on hold for as long as need be to talk to a live operator. I was able to get through at 11:30 EST last night.
There is an October-November NOA2-to-NVC thread started by Applewow. All of you December Vermont filers getting your approvals now are more than welcome to join us there if you like.

NVC is moving pretty quick. You can track your case from dhl.com all the way to the consulate by using KidBrooklyn's info. See below.
That DHL trick actually works... I tried it and came across all the petitions that NVC sent out to the embassies today, 3/3/08.

Type or paste this into the Reference field: EXP 29 FEB 2008A
That's don't change or touch any other fields.
There were 77 shipped today, 2 on Saturday. I'm sure if this helps anybody, but I created an aphabetized list using Excel.
Laura you might have to enter different dates but I tracked mine all the way to Kazakhstan.

I actually found mine on the DHL last night (Well, Mox found it for me!) There was only one package going to Montreal yesterday so...I knew it was mine!
It's in Ohio right now...probably freezing cause there is so much snow!! LOL
