Woohoo, Halle!! Awesome!!! Things are moving quickly!! smile.gif
Good luck w/the medical and interview!! smile.gif star_smile.gif
SonoranSongbird
Yes, good luck, Halle! Remember--you have 6 months to activate the visa, so you don't HAVE TO move any sooner than you had originally planned if it will be too stressful to arrange everything. Also--have you looked into take the kitties with you on the plane? Some airlines allow you to bring pets in carry on carriers if they fit under the seat.

My fiance got packet 3 in the mail on March 26, same as Meridien, and his medical appointment in Calgary is booked for April 10. He hasn't faxed back packet 3 yet, but we are going to request an interview date in the second half of May. We're trying to schedule a vacation on Vancouver Island and a visit to my parents (who live in a border town near Vancouver) around it, so we want to have more advance notice than we will get if we just ask for the soonest available date, plus that will give us a better chance of having nice weather in Raincouver!!
applewow
Congratulations all for a good news...
Damn, people,I really dont know what to do...
I got an email today from the us embassy in Tashkent saying,,
Dear Ms. Lee,

Please be advised that per your fiancee's request your appointment is
rescheduled for April 8, at 8 a.m.

Sincerely,

Consular Section,
United States Embassy,
Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Tel: +998 71 140 22 17
Fax: +998 71 120 5448,,

They scheduled my appointment because Alvin got order and senator called them to expedite me interview date...But we asked someday between April 14-18...
Damn,I got my plain ticket from Soeul to Tashkent on 8 of April...
Tomorrow I will go and try to change my flight date for this coming Tuesday...

I cant explain how I fell now..I am happy and exited, but in the same time....i am afraid I wont have a time to prepare....

Hi there Sonoran!! Glad that your process is moving on swiftly as well! I'll be sending the kitties over to Texas before I leave the UK (3 of them), as I'll be heading to NY for a couple of weeks before heading to Texas and my fiance is going back home to Australia for a couple of weeks so he can see his family before he meets me in Texas.

I didn't know you could request your interview date though! I wonder if the US London Embassy will allow that.. from what the paperwork says, I need to send in all the forms, get the medical organized, make sure I've got everything off of the checklist, send that in as well and then they will contact me as to when the interview date will be.

I might ring them to ask actually.. =D

Applewow, good luck! Lucians is right---you will do fine. good.gif

Halle, it varies by consulate. The bottom of the checklist he has to fax back to Vancouver asks for requested interview date. Whether they will really accomodate our request remains to be seen, although I've heard that they are pretty good about being willing to reschedule an interview if you need it.

Lucian's Girl, congratulations! (Hehe, it seems silly to say contgratulations for having a package delivered, but it means you are one step closer....)
RyaNRiza
I just called, and NVC forwarded our information on the 27th of March. That's awesome.
LuciansGirl
Thanks for the congrats, Sonoran!! We're getting one step closer each time....now we just have to wait for Packet 3 (thru caribbean snail mail, oh my!!). LOL biggrin.gif

Roselinda
hi guys!

some advice please. yet again! blink.gif

we have the hard copy of the noa2 now, however, we're confused with what my SO needs to send to me and when?

does he have to wait for some kind of document in the mail, or should he just send me the copies of everything he sent at the start of our process?

i mean he needs to send income details and stuff like that right?

sorry. i'm so confused. unsure.gif

i know you guys won't let me down. lol. you never have yet. and we really appreciate any help given.

thanks!

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

NOTE:

*** I was researching last night and per the K-1 tips, it is advised that you make 3 copies of the I-134 Affidavit of Support after filling it out and then have the 3 copies notarized...that way, you will have 3 originals. 1 copy to Petitioner, 1 to beneficiary, 1 to Embassy. The same applies to the Employement Letter (have your employer sign 3 original letters).

Good luck, Rose! I'm gathering docs to send to my SO by early next week as well!! smile.gif

Oh Sugar. Honey. Ice. Tea! wacko.gif

Well we've taken a look at this I-134 form and I have to say it's a tad confusing. Like most things in regard to the whole process!!

Does my SO only have to send the form to me with some copies of wage slips or does he need to send more?

He's above the poverty line thingy, so we won't need additional sponsors, but that form looks so scary and confusing.

Yet again, thanks for any advice.

The Krispy Kremes will be on me....lol

You really only need 2 pieces of proof. I am sending Riza my last 3 years of tax returns with accompanying W-2 and a letter of employment with my title, salary and full time status. a lot of the stuff that Lucian suggested is a nice to have, but not a necessity. your entire I-129F packet will be forwarded to the embassy.

On the I-134 your financial information is up to you what you disclose, basically as long as you show that you are able to support the beneficiary, fill out whatever you feel comfortable with. Just have enough that shows that you're able to prevent them from being a drain on the taxpayers.

Other things you might want to send with it, are anything that can help to prove a continuing relationship, phone bills showing you called, any new ticket stubs or pictures of you together that the beneficiary doesnt't have, maybe some letters that the USC has received. I would think by this point you've already put some thought into what the beneficiary will take as part of the evidence, but think again and add more if you want. chat transcripts, emails, emails from or to family and friends. pictures of you with family or friends when visiting. None of this stuff is 100% necessary, but can help to establish legitimacy of the relationship.

Lucian just copied what was suggested by VJ. but there's no hard and fast rules about what will prove to the embassy that you are legit. I think that's so that scammers don't create an industry where they manufacture the specific evidence.

I'd think too much is never really too much, but don't bankrupt yourself sending 20 lbs of stuff.

-Ryan
LuciansGirl
That is correct, I copied and pasted that stuff from the K-1 Guides. Rose, you may also want to look at the K-1 tips as well. smile.gif

I'm submitting my 3 years tax returns, W-2s, and letter from my employer. No need to state asset values and bank statements if the petitioner makes 125% over the poverty line.

I am flying back to Tashkent tomorrow and have my medical

SonoranSongbird
Not to sound wildly paranoid, but if you are at least 125% above poverty level, I'd really recommend NOT supplying any information or evidence of bank accounts and such. It's best to avoid putting out your account numbers if you don't absolutely have to. Plus it makes it easier if you don't bother with it. Just put N/A in those spaces.

Roselinda, I think VJ really only recommends having a photocopy of the entire I 129F package for each person so you each have a backup of it just in case. I don't see any reason to bring that to the interview, since they will already have it. What they MIGHT ask to see is originals of anything that was included in it---birth certificate, divorce decree, boarding passes, etc. Same goes for the I-134, so he should probably send you originals of the pay stubs (to show if asked and hold onto) and photocopies (to submit). Two notorized copies of the form and two employer letters on letterhead are also a good idea.

Congrats to Stuart and Ryan on being one step closer!!

Applewow, have a nice flight back and good luck with your interview!

We are also one step closer---my fiance sold his house only three days after he put it on the market. So assuming all goes well with the visa, we will begin our lives together in July!

Yes,only Vermont and Calicornia Service Centers are processing I-129F applications... Your petition will be resent to a right mailing address from Nebraska, and once Service Center receive your paperwork they will send a notice of action-NOA1 to your fiancee's address...I think just because your fiancee sent it to Nebraska Service Center it will take a little while for you guys to receive NOA1...But I dont think it will be too long...Maybe a couple of weeks longer...

Hahaha, sounds like a good doctor! I would like to be told to eat more chocolate next time I go to the doctor.

Congratulations on your package being sent, eli!

I wonder if Tars has heard anything yet.

Jolies, I'm not sure what the deal is with the Nebraska and Texas service centers anymore. Before July 30, some people (depending where you lived) were still supposed to send them there, even though all they did with the petitions is send them to California to be processed. Ours would have gone to Nebraska had we filed then. I don't understand why those two centers would still exist now that they are not even doing that much, but I would also think that if it were closed down completely, the package would have been returned to your fiance. Applewow is right--sending it there probably added on some time, plus sometimes they are just plain pokey about getting around to opening the packages up and sending out the NOA1 notice.

One thing your fiancee can do to check its status is to check with her bank to see if the check has cleared. Once it does, there will be a number at the bottom of the endorsement on the back of the check. It will begin with three letters---ours was WAC, but there are two other three-letter combinations and I don't remember what they are since ours was at this point in October. That is your USCIS receipt number. You can use that to check the status of your case on line. Go here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis and click on "Yes, my petition is pending" (from the menu at the top right corner of the screen). I can't remember the exact prompts from there, but it is actually pretty self-explanatory and user friendly (I'm not the most technologically adept person in the world and I found the USCIS site very easy to navagate). It will take you to a screen where you can enter that receipt number and check the status of the petition on line.

Obviously, this does not work before they have entered you into the system, but they can generate the NOA1 and deposit the check long before you get your NOA1 in the mail. It took 10 days for mine to physically reach my house from California.

Well, here I was thinking that it was going all too fast and now it's come to a full stop! It's been a week since we sent the check list back to the embassy, now we're just waiting on the interview date.. rang the embassy this morning to just check that everything was o.k. (that the checklist was actually received!) and that we were not meant to make the appointment ourselves; the person on the other end says it could take up to 6 weeks before they send the interview date to us! How ridiculous is that?! I'm hoping he just HAS to say that and that it's not subject to actually taking that long.. gah.. come on US Embassy in London!!!

*sigh*

We wait..

Can I just confirm that my SO does not actually need to send me the entire copy of the I129 thingy?

Will I need a copy of his divorce decree or just his I134, wage slips, letter of intent, tax stuff?

Sound about right?

Yay!!! I'm happy for you guys too, Roselinda!!!

This is what I sent my fiance: a certified copy of my divorce decree, I-134 and supporting documents (paystubs, tax returns for 07, 06, 05), letter of intent, proof of relationship (pics, letters, emails, call logs, etc), a copy of 129-F (with original boarding passes, receipts, etc), and a copy of my naturalization certificate. I think that's about it....
