Here https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtim...eviceCenter=VSC they have the timeline and it shows that for I-130 as off 2/15/08 they are proccessing 08/19/07 applications. is they 08/19/07 the date that the application was received by them, or the date enetered in the sytem. These days that may mean a 4-5 month diffference.

any thoughts on this?

I am pretty sure it is the date that they received the application.

I hope so. They are probably proccessing yours then, given the timeline.

On uscis.gov they state that they go by priority date and priority date is equal to received date.
Also they state that dates on uscis timeline mean: there is no petitions to work on than posted dates.
Example:
I-130 - July 19
means no more petitions at USCIS with priority/received date July 18.
Here on VJ we learn it's not always true.
