I have some disconcerting news....Peter woke in the morning with the entire left side of his face swollen huge (he's calling himself the elephant man). It appears he's probably got a tooth abcess and that's triggered his Trigeminal Neuralgia. He's going to the dental hospital tomorrow..but they'll likely give him antibiotics and scoot him on his way until the infection is gone. He needs several teeth pulled. We all know how his immunizations went..he was a big fraidy cat. He's put this off too until the last minute....he's got plane tickets to come in here in five weeks! I'm nervous that this won't be resolved and we'll be bombed with whopping dental bills right off the bat! Right now, I'm just feeling helpless that he's in so much pain....I told him to go the regular hospital maybe they can start him on antibiotics and at least get his pain under control....I don't know how things work like that in the UK. I'm worried it's gonna delay him coming here too. I just want him well though.

I'm sure he'll be fine - does he have a dentist? I am sure if he let them know of the situation it will all be ok. As for huge bills - sometimes you can go to a dental college and get things much cheaper - I know that is what my dad does

Hey, I've done this before. And it wasn't a bad experience either. And I saved an extra 50 bucks by passing up on the anesthesia. I don't recommend this, but I got over it.

Haha - you're braver than I am - I freak out about the dentist!!

Dental pain never really bothered me much. Even growing up. My mother would tear up and yelp as the dentist did their job. and she wasn't even the patient! I was in the emergency room nearly every month when I was growing up. I was a bit of a rambunctious kid and "stitches" was even my nickname for a while. I've always had a strangely high threshold for pain. Don't really know why. And it worried my parents a lot. Its really not a good thing. In the past xrays have shown that I was hurt much worse than I thought. Not fun!

Haha - I used to be fine when I was a kid - I never minded the dentist, doctor - anything! Then I had a bad root canal infection That combined with going to uni and suffering from depression was a bad combo - I still get quite anxious (a side-effect from my former depression) although I am a lot better than I was, and I tend to blow things out of proportion and over-analyse. I was very brave about going to the dentist though - I hadn't been in six years and then my tooth broke so I kinda had to - my dentist is lovely!!! I just hope I find a nice one in the US...

I am really excited now - I am seeing all my friends graduating and I want it to be my turn! I am really nervous about the interview and medical etc but I can't wait until I can put that part of it all behind me and concentrate on getting ready to move at the end of June!!

Dental update.....

Well, Peter had TWO tooth extractions, was full of pus and his sinuses were draining pus too...hope y'all already have eaten!

He's starting to feel a bit better...pain subsiding...but I'm amazed they pulled those teeth with so much infection going on! He said they gave him an 'antibiotic cocktail' to drink...3 grams of something (men never ask what...grrr), and he FAINTED from low blood sugar. Well , he hadn't eaten in three days from the pain.

Now...knowing how I worry and all...I'm just scared that he'll get some complication before he flies here. (Jeraly isn't the only one that over anylises things! ) I know he'll have a bunch of dental work left to do once we're married. sigh. I just hope he is recovered enough to travel in the next couple of weeks. He was SO ill from this! I've never seen him this ill.

Well..that's all for now. I hope everyone is doing okay.

Oh man. This sucks! But I'm sure he will bounce back quickly, now that the work is done. And he'll put those lost pounds back on, catching up on all the wonderful food he missed out on.

Eww - that sounds gross!! Glad he is beginning to pick up though... Would it not be cheaper for him to get the dental work done here though? Or will he have insurance by the time he needs the work done?

We are approved! I can't update my timeline from work but will soon. I am waiting for more information from Lola--just have a text for now. Guess buying her that cell phone was a good idea afterall!! We are probably in the minority in that we have to wait now for her to come here due to her daughter being in school. It will actually time out pretty good. I will have some time to clean up extra good for them!

I still have been waiting for noa2. It is over freaking 7 months. This is insane. I cannot stand it anymore. My last update was August 10th, but recently, finally it was update on March 7th and 9th. I do not think that this is due to phone calls because my fiance called several times in Feb.
I have no idea why it took this long. I have no RFE or anything and I am really upset. Do those two touches mean good?????????????

I have a question...what's the best way to send money to another country? I don't want to send a money order because it seems risky, I can't wire money to his account bc he doesn't have one,
not sure if a check would work either. Has anybody here sent $$ to their fiance?

I guess without a bank account you're best bet is Western Union or something like that. Checks can be difficult to cash without an account and sending cash is too risky!

Its kind of pricey to use WU, but with limited options its your quickest and safest way to go.

Ricardo had his interview yesterday March 10, he was approved but not quite LoL. He was missing two documents: his police papers, "record policivo" (I don't know how to say that in english), and his certificate stating that he is single "carta de solteria" (again I don't know how to say this in english). but he showed his receipts that he requested those papers over two weeks ago and that he's in the process of getting them. Apparently in Panama this takes FOREVER to get, almost 1 month, but he did pass the interview they just gave him a green sheet stating that he needed to bring back those documents with his passport and that was it! He doesn't have to do another interview or anything..... the worst is over!

I was there with him and let me tell you they grilled him! they asked him so many detailed questions one right after another, but I'm so proud of him because he remembered how old we were when we started dating, what year etc. So I'm not officially doing the dance until he tells me he dropped of his papers with his passport meaning that he has officially been approved.

Very sore subject there.....as much as I love him....I told him more than SIX months ago to start getting dental work done because it is SO much cheaper there. I will have him on insurance once we're married, but he has a lot of work to do and my policy will only cover 1500$ per year of work. Sooooo i'm just a tad annoyed since his flight is on the 14th of April. I really don't want him ill when he gets here from dental work! Anyway....that's the way it goes with him...Procrastination, one little attribute about him that I'll never be able to change (so I'm dealing with it).

I booked our wedding venue....we decided on a little Scottish Inn near where I live (since we couldn't get married in Scotland like we wanted originally)....we'll marry on May 17th, I can't wait!

Hey congrats to everyone for their approvals. China is super slow with many possible delays/denials that you may have to overcome. My fiancee got Packet 3 just last night. Glad the process is still moving forward, but we still have a ways to go.
