Congrats guys on ur visas!!!!
Rob & Jin
Congrats to those you got their visas this week good.gif kicking.gif

Congrats to all those who have received approvals and are making their way through the end of this process!!!

Just a lil update...

Steve arrived in the US about a month ago now, and everything is great!! He came in through JFK, so he got a work stamp (although it looks reallly dodgy!). AND, he already got a job working with a company called Australian Landscaping and Construction, which is actually owned by a couple Aussie guys so it is perfect for him! He manages groups of workers and sort of oversees different projects. He really likes it, and they gave him a company truck and fuel card as well. Plus, they are really easy about the work stamp stuff and getting time off for the wedding because at least one of them has been through this whole thing before. He also went in to apply for a S.S. number a couple weeks ago and all went well, so should be arriving any day now.

We're so excited to finally be together!!!! I'm loving every minute of this.

Good luck and best wishes to everyone - finally getting to be together forever luv.gif

Take care

Hey guys I am finally finished with collecting all the documents for my fiancee's visa interview but i wanna make sure i have everything befor I send it.

Check List:

copy of the entire I-129F Package- no need they have that our have not got interview
I disagree... while they may never need it it's better to be safe than sorry.

Notarized I-134 affidavit of support- yes
Yes that's correct.

paystubs, bank statements and a letter from my bank, tax transcripts, employer later.- yes
I used paystubs, last 5 years tax transcripts, letters from employer & statement from my employee investment fund.

completed form DS-156K, DS-156, DS-230 part I and II-shouldnt they already have that ? maybe post specific, but part 2 is signed at interview not before
I sent the same... all filled out and everythign and then when she got them we went through them line by line so she could fill in by hand the stuff that wouldn't fit doing it on the computer (and also the native language stuff)

letter of Intent to marry signed and dated- sign and dated at interview
Actually Rob this would be the latest one from the petitioner which does need to be signed and dated. I am unaware of any requirement for the beneficiary to arrive at the interview with an unsigned letter of intent.

phone bills, phone cards, e-mails, letters, receipt of western union and moneygram, congrats cards from my family of our engagement, and the receipt of our ring. ok
I used the same stuff that was in the I-129f plus I added a packet of the origional boarding passes from trips we took together and copies of e-mails, web-cam screen shots, 1 years worth of call logs from my international calling card, color scans of packages she has sent to me

boarding pass, Itinerary, copy of the visa stamp on my passport- ok
I assume that you are the petitioner and this is all your future trip to go get your fiancee??

copy of the NOA2- cant get interview if they dont already know this
I sent the same... yes, not required but so what. I sent the origional copy of NOA1 & NOA2 & the letter from the NVC

her birth certificate- maybe post specific again
I'm not quite clear on why you are sending your fiancee her birth certificate

and last but not least a lot of pictures of our engagement party and when we went to places. ok
And thats it so if I am missing something please let me knw, thank you very much in advance.

If you've followed the items on the "checklist" from the Embassy where your finacee will interview you should be all set.

Haha - I'd be going crazy!!! I can't believe you are on here and you are going tomorrow!!!! OH! I don't think I have updated the spreadsheet... have I?

I'm only here because I posted a new thread about hand luggage requirements because I'm so last minute at everything. I even bought my flight through lastminute.com. I am starting to get grumpy now about how much I have to do and J is saying "you don't need to bring much, you have loads here already' but it's really hard paring down all your belongings to two cases. I think we will have to do a shipment at some point.

It's been a while since I checked the spreadsheet. I'm astounded at how much time I've picked up this last few weeks considering I was one of the last NOA2 recipients. What a crazy process!

Anyway, must go! sorry everyone who has had good news recently and I haven't congratulated you. Congrats anyway!! biggrin.gif
Jeraly
If we don't see you before have a safe journey and we'll see you on the other side!!!

I am defo planning on shipping things out although I don't know how I will afford it - might have to use mum's garage for a while laughing.gif I have accumulated so many things I don't want to leave behind - mainly games and books!!! I am terrible!!!

Once she gets here we will go together and pick out a bedroom set. And, from the way my parents are talking, it may be their wedding gift to us.
Jeraly
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are sooooo lucky biggrin.gif I can't wait til my turn!! biggrin.gif
Scott and Marta
If you canīt wait till you can unpack then you can pack you baggage and unpack it while you are waiting biggrin.gif
Jeraly
Hahaha!! For three months??!?!!?!

Yeah smile.gif letīs say once a week biggrin.gif Would that do? biggrin.gif
Jeraly
Haha - maybe when my brother brings back some boxes from work biggrin.gif

I'm sure he'll do well! He has so many changes to look forward too, which I am sure will be exciting and overwheming all at the same time. But, he'll have you to help him through all of it and together you'll make the adjustments!

Make sure you join us in the thread Jeraly started in the Moving Her & Your New Life in America forum - July 2007 K1 Filers! A bunch of us post there now to keep in touch, discussing any and everything!

I hope the flight and everything goes amazingly well for you guys!

my first flight was at nineteen, alone, from Sydney to Frankfurt (almost the full twenty-four hours), to meet a penfriend I had never met before laughing.gif
upon arrival my baggage was stolen; within a week I had broken my ankle laughing.gif

seemed like a disaster when it happened - but for ages (and even at the time) I have felt I wouldn't change a thing; quite apart from bringing me right in close with the family, who are STILL great friends of mine almost seventeen years later, all of that taught me such resilience... you don't get through all that on your own, in a foreign language, with virtual strangers, and not learn some pretty decent coping skills wink.gif

PS Marta, you're ribbing me about not being packed?! girly, I've been packed for months - the stuff stacked in the basement, that is wink.gif - and for the rest - well, I've got more than a month wink.gif

what an experience!! laughing.gif very, very true about the coping skills though good.gif

oh, I know... I remember a very specific moment, lying awake the night after breaking my ankle, feeling all distraught and thinking I'd have to go home, when I just decided that I was NOT going to go home; I was going to stay, and make it all work... I sometimes wonder if that was one of the defining moments of my life wink.gif

of course, I then had to call my poor suffering mother... which was an adventure in itself, as this all happened in what had until very recently been East Germany, and there weren't any phones laughing.gif
I think I said something like 'I've had a few more problems...' and her 'yeeeeessss...' was very guarded all of a sudden laughing.gif

Abdul Rahman arrived on February 25th through JFK and received a 90 work stamp in his passport with no problems. We applied for his SSN on March 3rd and are still waiting. Anyone know how long that takes? I am so fliiping happy and just cannot believe he is really here. Wow! What a horrible time we have all had. What obstacles we have overcome and what emotional turmoil. Kudos to everyone for their patience and neverending faith in good things. Congrats to us all!

Both Charry and I are moving so it is double trouble..
I'm finally moving out of the parents house. Although, at one point I was almost going to buy the house from them. That is until I found out how much they are paying in mortgage payments.
I am moving with my entertainment center, complete with home theater system tongue.gif. I have a computer and desk, a filing cabinet and a bookcase. There is no point of me taking my twin bed, yes thats all I have laughing.gif
My parents are giving me their old kitchen table that has been collecting dust in the basement, better than nothing. My God mother is giving me a wingback chair that she has never used. One set of grandparents gave me a pillow laughing.gif and a fleece jacket for Charry. The other set said they bought me some towels, I already have serveral sets.
My sister gave me a bunch of old winter clothes, not really old but she bought them and wore them once for a party or something and never wore them again. They all look nice. But if they are too big or Charry does not like them they will probably go to good will.

3 days after I move Charry is arriving.

We have no living room furnature, other than the entertainment center. We have no bed never mind a bedroom set. I do not plan on getting anything either until she is here so she can help pick them out.
I saw an inflatable bed on sale for $12.99 or something like that. That should be good enough for a few days while we decide.

I'm taking the entire week off after she arrives. We can pick out the furnature we do not have, I can show her the sites around here as well as show her how to get places of importance, although she won't be able to drive for a while. Then there are the things we all know will happen after being apart for 9 months or more. biggrin.gif

he is sleeping soundly in my bed as we speak biggrin.gif

he got through immigration just fine, and even managed to get work authorization (i guess they do it automatically)...he said that the officer only spoke english and adriano had no idea what the man was saying...despite that, everything went smoothly!! im sooo excited to wander around the city after work tonight smile.gif

yay!!! Congrats!!! You'll have to let us know what Adriano thinks of the Big Apple!

haha, I had to map that; no clue where that was.
Well, even if it's miles from anywhere populated doesn't mean it isn't a nice place to walk, right? Looks like there are huge parks near there so that could be really nice. smile.gif Is that where you and Jeremy are going to be living?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that My fiance has finally been approved! We just got confirmation from the embassy saying he has been approved, but that they will call him to pick up his VISA!! I'm so glad they said VISA because the torture is over!! According to my fiance the last step is him getting on the plane and getting over here, which makes me oh so very happy!! Thanks to everyone for their support through all of this....by the way where are the July filers headed to now? the "moving to America" forum?? now I can officially to the dance! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

I keep forgetting that you STILL haven't interviewed! You're such a veteran, it doesn't seem possible!

I know - but I thought the same as you when I first came here - I saw those little hearts and couldn't believe that you had only just filed!!! I feel like I *should* be a veteran - I have got so nervous and excited for everyone else who has gone through it all and part of me thinks I have done my bit now - surely I can bribe someone else to be nervous for me?!?! I am sure Debz is pretty bored!! Maybe I'll text her now I have her new US cell number - yay! biggrin.gif

haha...and now you have more hearts than me!!! I found this site long before we were able to file, so I spent a lot of time reading and learning in an effort to be ready once we could file. It definitely paid off!

How is debz? Does she not have internet access? I miss her! If you text her tell her she is missed!

Oh there prolly were but where we were was 100+ in the shade and the nearest store was 3 miles away - there is no way we could walk in the summer which is when I was out there as there just wasn't any shade!! It was a nightmare!! I think we will be living somewhere slightly more populated when I move out... here's hoping!!

I spend too much time on here for my own good prolly!!! Debz should have moved into their new place by now but she wasn't expecting any net access for about a month - she has access at Nick's parent's place but now she isn't there all day she prolly can't get on too much smile.gif I think she said it still feels a bit like a holiday but I am sure things will settle down a bit more now they have their own space smile.gif

I miss her sad.gif
