I got my NOA2 yesterday in the mail. So, I guess I have to wait on the NVC, right? Now, I'm leaving on Wednesday and I'm sick. My sides hurt and it feels like I'm getting the flu
nooooooo, not now--- wait until after the trip.

Honey it didn't even take 1 week after the case was transfer to Kingston and that was on Feb 4th and I think i got it 2 or 3 days later. I mean I only live in Boston and the letter came from New Hampshire. And after I rcv'd my letter it took my husband less than 2 wks for him to get his letter. I made him make the medical appointment before he got this letter.

I'm confused....I thought you had to email them to receive an interview date??? Will they just mail us one?

When I spoke to her yesterday she didn't even sound a bit NERVOUS.

JENGS it feel like somebody beat me with a BAT! and my throat sore. I'm just so damn tired. I've been fighting it, but I think I'm about to give up. The last time I went to Jamaica I was sick a few days before I left and it looks like it's happening again.

Andrew is here!! He got in late Friday night. It was so stressful because he was taking so long I thought he may have gotten stuck in customs, but he just got lost and kept getting on and off the train too many times! I cried like a baby when I saw him. I bought red balloons with white hearts and we both had on our JA shirts. He still didn't see me. We got his bags and went to my co-worker's car because we all took the trian down to meet him because everyone wanted to greet him, lol. She took me to my car and then I took him by my apartment. He loves it!! We then left and went down to my mom's house. I go there every weekend and he is staying there with her so we don't "cool the pum-pum" before June 7th!! I still have my V-card if you know what I mean! Anyhow, my mom greeted us and we sat up talking. The next day, my nephew and sis woke up and met him, he was still in shock as was I. We gave him his own room and I always sleep in my mom's room. We had breakfast and he had grits, and sausage for the first time and pancakes, etc. He had so much stuff!! Like he was a model going to a photoshoot, but he said that wasn't everything. My sis went and got him some white Air Force Ones because he left his white shoes, we went out and he was in amazement at the roads, cars, buildings, everywhere he went, he was inspecting the building because he is an electrical engineer. We went to my g-mom's house, church on Sunday and out to eat...no rice and peas and chicken for him this past Sunday...he tried ribs, grilled shrimps, etc. Overall it was cool, but Lawny......we had a lot of arguements..he was acting as if he knew everything and was "the man" like he does in JA, and I tried to tell him that wouldn't fly here because you have to learn first and then..... have more to tell you, but that is the beginning...he even argued with me about what cost too much because he kept converting into JA dollars, he also didn't want to wear his seatbelt, and asked why, and how would the police know, etc....needless to say...we have a lot of work to do together. I told him he was to be willing to be teachable. I am not bossy, but I do have to watch how I give instrcuctions to him. I have some work to do as well . He is doing much better now though. He knows he can still be "the man" and ask for help. It doesn't make him any less of a man..it's actually pretty cute to me. He can be very analytical and I can get easily frustrated by that at times, we are going through pre-marital counseling as well to get this all in perspective. I have no regrets though! It is a bit shaky, but it's all apart of adjusting. I know he misses work and his fam. He calls his mom just about everyday so far. He loves my family and we love him too!! I told him we ot get it together before June 7th because I don't want to get married into a messy situation. I would rather send him back and do it over again. Just because I have seen so many peple hop into marriages when both parties are not complete! My mom always tells me a piece of man and a piece of woman does not make a whole relationship. I agree. But with God on both of our sides, I know that all things are possible and in my heart I believe everything will be alright. We have come this far by faith, and I refuse to turn around now!! I know it's long but I haven't been on here for awhile so I had to play catch up. Thank you for asking! Missed you guys!

Girl, that's just the beginning. It's all good though. It all takes time. Part of the ADJUSTMENT. My friend just about killed her fiance yesterday when she got her SPRINT bill. Now, JG and other warned me about that and I passed it on to my friends who have their men here now, but they didn't listen. My girlfriends bill for March was $3500. UNREAL! He would talk to friends for 2 hours at a time. I told MARCEL I'll break everyone of his fringers, but better yet I'll just lock off the international calling on all phones.

LOL!!! I got him a pre-paid phone for now. It's a new company called Trumpet Mobile! It works great for him! It's .20/min for JA calls. When he uses it up, he just buys more. When he moves here with me, i will get him the Metro phone...unlimited everything for 1 price a month and he can continue to get calling cards for international calls and all. I remember how my Verizon Wireless bill looked...I still owe them a good bit, lol, so i knew not to make that move! I know this is just the beginning Lawny. Don't stop praying for me girl, now that he is here, I probably need it more. I have some past hurts to let go and all just to be able to give him 100%..right now it's like 99.9% or so, but it can't be that way. Also I have to tone down my independence as well and be sure to make him feel needed! It's a job and a struggle day to day, but God will help me because I def want to be helped. I will keep you posted! Thanks again Lawny!

Gilly.....you reminded me of what Andre did to me............he called me April 1, 2005 from JA at about 3 a.m. and told me he was in the hospital. He said he'd been in a car accident and had gashed his head really bad, requiring stitches, broke his leg, and they thought he might lose his eye. I was hanging up to call the airlines when he yelled APRIL FOOLS. I hung up on him and didn't talk to him all that day. I still cuss him for that when he brings it up.

I am pissed the HELL OFF!!!

In AUGUST I went to the MVA to get a learner's permit for MD.
They asked me if I had ever held a license before, I said NO, just a learner's permit in England. They asked to see it, so I produced it.
They then told me, I could NOT have a learner's permit here, I had to CONVERT it and do a 3 hour drug and alcohol program.
I even EMAILED them AFTER to check this was RIGHT!
So I did the alcohol and drug course in SEPTEMBER, and the driving school finally gave me the certificate in DECEMBER.
I went back to the MVA in January to make an appointment for the driving test, by which point my I-94 had expired, so the bastards told me MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!
There were no January appointments left, I was told to call in FEBRUARY.
I made an appointment on the 6th of FEB for TODAY (two FREAKING MONTHS LATER).

TODAY I go in, they say 'SORRY YOU NEED A LEARNER'S PERMIT'??????????
Now, the FRIGGED up thing about it, is that I have to hold the learner's permit for SIX FREAKING months until I can drive on my OWN?????


I am sooo pissed and disgusted with those stupid a$$holes right now.

Oh English, I'm sorry. Did you go the one in Beltsville? They gave my brother-in-law the same run around. He had a VALID license from Cameron and they told him he had to get a learners after making 3 appointments. He was being told different things and different times in the process. That is just crazy. And this new appointment thing which they implement several years ago is suppose to cut down on the lines.

I have some friends that came here from JA 4mths ago that are going through the very same thing. I think that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. Yet, a 16year US citizen old can go right in and get a DL the same day. They are the ones having all the freakin accidents. Driving and eating, drinking, sending text messages and all kinds of crap. I'm sorry, but that's just dumb...
