Lawny, I am so sorry for your loss. I, too think that stress is underrated...it can do some serious damage to your body & mind! I TRY to keep it in check...but these days it can be hard!


Like right now I feel my blood pressure creeping up! Ken just called me...he was suppose to go for his driving test today! We have paid the $$ and this woman said bring a car and drive fuh a likkle bit...presto whamo we give you a receipt and you should be able to pick up your license before you leave!

Hmmmm, what was it that JG said about best laid plans.... So, he goes down there and this man calls Ken and give him a book to read! Ok, after we paid the $$ we were suppose to be able to skip this part! Ken tells the man he is confused and the man tells Ken to come back on...APRIL 24th!!! mad.gif mad.gif Mi jus tell Ken look yuh haffi guh pressure deh people yuh pay deh $$ tuh! Mek dem knoa seh yuh knoa pay yuh HARD-EARNED dollas fi dis phockery!!

Is deh same ting we JUS talking bout!!! I KNOW my man...anyhow Ken come hup here widhout em license...fi jus siddung...Bwoy, is pure misery mi in fuh!!

Ladies, that have filed before me...is this how it goes...2 days of joy...then back inna deh crosses agen??? Constant struggle!? Well, Ken ave a saying"Not heveryday deh seas are rough...wan day wan day deh seas MUS calm!!! Lawd, when is DAT day!?

Honestly, I don't think it's gotten better yet. There is always another form to fill out and another frustrating day to deal with where if you hear the word immigration or green card one more time, you are going to scream. Today, the word of the day is "passport".

I have learned that it hasn't killed me yet, Gill, and that I am a whole lot stronger and smarter then I ever thought I was.

You can do this. Stay strong and take lots of deep breaths!

Mindy is having a hell of a time with renewing Roy's passport. They have sent 2 different sets of pictures in via NY consulate and both have been returned from JA as not the right pictures......Walgreens & Wal-Mart. The word is they have to go to The Picture People and have them make high resolution pictures. Something about JA and the high rate of fraud.

Anyhow, to hear her tell it, is giving me a headache today. She's been trying to renew for the last 2 months.

We need to renew Andre's by the end of the year. Now, I'm worried.

My husbands friend realized his was expired right before his trip to JA, they went anyways and he renewed it while he was there. If push comes to shove for Mindy I'll ask him what happened.


Do you think he could do that without his passport? Her problem now is they are planning an August trip and his passport is in the hands of the Jamaican consulate. I hope they get it by then.


It should take about six weeks. I think the fees include fedex to and from jamaica

They have had it now for 8 weeks and are still saying the pictures are not right. I dread having to do this myself. I hope she figures it out so I can learn.

Wah mi mean is..everybody luv talk bout dem no ave problems and dem sorry and ray tay tay...so if ano fi do with immigration or the visa journey mi no really seh nuttin unless it's general...ssome ppl love to hear wah a happen in ur life...but dem so perfect nuttin go wrong inna fi dem...mi nah lie..some a di statement them wah ppl may post mek mi wonder...but u cannot act like di glass rosey if it smear up..so mi ave all di advice fi gi and joke fi run..but mi step back from some topics more time...ppl must remember they are trying to build a life with their partners not giving them this oppotunity of a life time..the chance of my life would able to move back to JA and live confortably

life goes on during and after..don't act like things are peachy inna yuh life cause di man. woman nodeh next to yuh fi si..cause wah yuh hide will be ur enemy..yuh a set up yuh self fi live a lie and try mek tings perfect fi dem...when mi couldn't go a JA mi mek dat clear to Kashi...if mi phone cut off mi no mek up story bout it..just tell it like it is..it is life...not a honeymoon..so don't be fooled those that are just starting out..i'll alwasy be glad that I found u guys when i did cause it made mi aware of some issues..and the adjsutment is a big one...for me at least !!

Tell it...tell it...mi no wrang u a so it fi go. Kimmy a same weh mi tan. Fi life no perfect some time mi ave $$$ but more time mi a struggle. An mi no shame fi seh so. Like mi granny always seh...she naw swear fi no man.......mi no mind share my life...to tell the truth, I think I would be DEPRESSED if I didn't have ya'll to direct me and get me through the process. The break up with my EX weighed me down in a terrible way and to tell you the truth it was very hard for me to trust another man. But mi auntie tell mi seh mi caan live so....mi can't use wah happen in the past weigh me down.

Please Claire and Classy know that what I said wasn't directed at you in any way. It was directed at those who choose to come here to read about others and talk about them behind their backs and let these people be the butt of their jokes and mocking. I am not referring to the people that don't post that much...I am referring to those that are talking crap about everyone else and their struggle behind their backs while living in their glass houses.

(I should talk) I had 144 things on my registry and I got alllllllllllll of DEM and I was so thankful. It was a blessing. I was the only one working at the time and it was a struggle. I was so thankful that I CRIED and both my showers. I cried uncontrollably crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

GWAANE weh u ago. Mi tell u farm lang time she mi chop off all mi hair and it grow back quicker dan before, but for some reason it's growing back THICKER this time (which is a good thing) since all the STRESS I was going through thinned my hair...so you ago help mi or wah?

Soooo tru Kimmy! I haven't gone through the process yet but my cousin came up in November on a K1 visa and he HATES it here. He said the country is TOOO different from Jamaica and he wants to go back, but he's willing to try his best and do what he can for his wife. Personally, I plan on moving back to JA soon as I have enough money saved up. Everytime I go home my family says "me a dead if mi nuh reach farrin". I have to tell them NOWHERE in the world is a bed of roses.

Girl, they just don't know. I tell my people AMERICA is not JOKE! It no EASY! But, you have to be willing to try. My fiance had no INTENTIONS at all to ever come here, but it just happened that we ran into each other and fell in love. We discussed the adjustment process a lot, but I told him, he won't know until he gets here and starts working and gets into the American way of life. I told him, if it's too much for him to handle I'll go back with him. It's easy for me to say that, because that's been my plan for many years.
