Oops I forgot I used a dash of sea salt and a dash of baking powder too. I don't measure anything I just throw it all together, but I don't use too much salt or powder just like 1 teaspoon and thats only if I'm making a big batch..you really don't need much of that at all. i roll it all together and add the butter in it and roll that in there too, till all lumps are gone then fry it in a tiny bit of oil....i don't submurge them in oil.

My whole family is coming over to my house after church on Sunday and we are going to BBQ and make all sorts of food. Probably just hang out and play some games or watch a movie. Hopefully it is relaxing but it probably won't be because it is at my house.


Sounds fun...I wish we had family close..I think blink.gif . Just around the holidays.....It gets lonely with his family in Ja and my family in another state.

I can imagine, I've put too much baking soda and thought they were going to explode whistling.gif


That's funny!! I just use self-rise flour and water then fry them. I was suprised there was a "real" recipe for them.

I just put a little in there when I'm kneading the dough. The butter makes them really tastey like butter bisquits. I never measure stuff just as long as my ratio of flour to the other stuff is way more.

Maybe I will have to give it a try again someday. I submerged them in the oil and they came out so tough...so maybe with the butter and not so much oil they would turn out nice.

Thanks for that curry goat receipe. I will def try it an I think I'm just gonna get a slow cooker cause the pressure cookser seems like a hassle. what do you ladies think...should i buy a pressure cooker or slow cooker?

Now mi juss need fe find where di goat deh.

If your SO lives close to Manley or Sangster Airports...please advise them to tell Airpack to pick-up visa! I have a friend that works at Airpack and she told us to do that! She said that it could add days on to deliver it! It worked in our case.

That statement makes me cuss. Not you, Gilly. The Airpack stuff. 2 years ago when we went through they were delivering that visa to your yard in MoBay, 4 days after the interview. What changed so much that it takes so long for them to deliver now?

Mi go store yesterday to pick up BUN, now mi did in deh on Monday the bun was $7.00. Yesterday dem raise the prise to $14.00 fi the same size bun...mi start gwaan BAD and other people start say the same thing. So, the owner give us the bun fi the $7.00. Now, this is the next thing. On Monday they had a whole shelf of the small cheese...yesterday all the small cheese gone and only the big tin left selling for $30...dem musah rass mad...mi just pay fi mi 2 bun an lef.


Damn, now you make me feel bad. We couldn't get any bun and cheese so Andre asked his sister in NY to send us some. She said $30 and hard buns and we thought she was lying. GREAT....it's Lent....I have to call and apologize for my bad thoughts about her now!

Stove top. Tried it once in the crock pot and didn't like it at all. Too tough.

JG..when you've had good fried dumplin yuh know..

Jengs..when dem done brown or get some color..a just the outside dough fry(cook) so u affi put back all a di flour dem (dumplins) back inna di pot even if dem pile up pon one another...turn down the stove low low low...mek di steam cook di flour on the inside...when dem deh done dem soft like baby baby..and yuh can eat 20 and yuh still good.....yuh eva eat fried dumplin wah RAW on the inside..lawks !!!

I am dying right now. I want some food.

We spent the day out playing in the sun.....visiting some friends, going to this really cool interactive museum we have here, and eating dinner out. It's Good Friday and we were at Hard Rock Cafe. What do they have meatless? A veggie burger. It was good and all. But, for some reason, I feel like my stomach is empty. Andre has this spicy chicken sandwich in the frige. At 12:01, I am eating that damn thing.

You guys are not helping me here!

We didn't get the cute little apartment around the corner from my boys school...they didn't want kids. Plus, the lady renting the room not too far from me...has changed her mind about renting it...because someone threathened to tell the town unless she gave it to him!

girl i know what u mean...mr jengles ordered coconut shrimp once and when it came he turned up his nose and peeled off all the breading...I said to him that was the best part....Gwan Kashi....see Kimmy slowly but surely..

Because it's illegal to rent rooms in Nassau County...this guy she was showing another room to...threatened to call the County Housing department and report her if she didn't give him Ken's room! So, she just saod 'f' it to renting ALL the rooms...so now we are back at SQUARE ONE!!!

Whatever, I KNOW I will find something! It's just a PITA...cause I can't book Ken's flight til I have a place for him to come to! mad.gif crying.gif

Plus, Ken called his Aunt in the Bronx to ask them if they knew of anywhere he could stay or rent han wat dem tell em...check deh internet!!!!! WOW...that is just SOOOO phockin HELPFUL!!!! mad.gif mad.gif...dyam foolishness!!

THAT IS HORRIBLE, can't belive he did that, try a broker u never know, the newest thing is they have the renter give the broker the last month's rent in the last month, so u don't have to pay three ways to get into an apartment anymore

Posting this early because I won't have access to a computer. My dads whole family (all 40 something of us) are staying at a hotel tonight to celebrate family. They have traveled from as far a Japan! My Grandmother is in stage 4 of lung and bone cancer and she wanted one last full weekend of partying while she is strong enough. Last night she hosted a dinner for all of us and it was a blast! I love being able to see everyone. And my Grandmother is a huge inspiration to me, she is in her late 70's and has the most postive attitude about her situation. She still volunteers at her church daily.

I wish everyone a great Easter and my prayers go out to each and everyone of us. We are all dealing with our own struggles but I have faith that we will overcome them! Because we have the support of each other! kicking.gif
