What you up to girl? I just booked a trip to JA (Sunset Jamaica Grande) for June for some family and friends. They had a trip for 5 days for $686 per person, so Ray's going to stay there with me and doesn't even know it. I'm going to surprise him if I can keep my big mouth shut that long. lol

We're thinking of renewing our wedding vows there in May or early June once I get my AP...



JaEng: That sounds nice.... AirJamaica was running a super special... We booked last week and was able to get that price. But, since if was so cheap, two of us got our rooms for like $800. Me being the person that I am. I always check to see if I could have found the trip cheaper, so I looked and it has gone up to like 772 per person. Check out airjamaicavacations and play with the dates... Even try to book your hotel and air seperate and see what the rates come out to be. They are running what they call a Springtastic Sale" Check cheapcaribbean too... The reason why I like AJ Vacations is beause you can pay on it and your transportation is included....


Sunny that's what I do. Sometimes it comes out be a lot less expensive. People think they're getting a better deal with a PACKAGE, but sometimes you end up paying A LOT more. Girl Ray is going to be so happy. When Marcel and I were at the Riu, people thought he worked there. We in the dining hall and he's coming to the table, lady says, excuse me can you get me a bottle of water. He just kiss his teet***. The Riu in Negril is ohhhhhhhh lord so beautiful. We're going there again next month. The Riu messed up on my reservation back in May of last year and when I stayed in November they were suppose to give me a credit and did not. So, I get to say for 3 days in Negril and I can't wait.

If you want to gain about 20lbs in 3 days...stay at a Riu property. I've never seen so much food and liquor. If when we was on the beach they kept filling up our glasses.


The Club RIU Negril is my favorite. I've stayed there about 4 or 5 times. I stayed at RIU Tropical Bay once and it was ok. Back in 2005, the RIU overbooked their reservations and so I got a call from a rep at Air Jamaica Vacations asking if I mined switching to Grand Lido and getting a free 2 night stay to come back later at the RIU. I was so upset, but that was because I had no idea about The Grand Lido. it was the best decision. I loved that place.


yes very good decsion, the grand lido is mad expensive...how was it, i want details....it looks very stush...was there a lot to do?


The Grand Lido in Negril was really nice. It's located directly across the road from Hedo. As far a the property itself, I think I prefer RIU. The rooms were really nice and had a step down into the living room that then lead the the balcony. The bathroom I loved. It had the shower with a bench and about 6 or 7 shower heads just shooting in every direction. The restaurants were great. I loved their pasta restaurant and the japanese stak house where they prepared your food at the table. It was delicious. You can also get room service just about all night.

The bar was stocked with premiun brands like Remy Martin, Hennessy and all the good stuff. The pool was a bit small, so I didn't get in. The property has a yacht that sails daily and that was really fun and it's no additional charge. There's a nude side that my girlfriend and I went to see. Yuck no0pb.gif Don't do that if you ever stay there. A bunch of old folks nude..... Not a pretty site. People were laid out with their legs cocked open reading books and some were walking up to the bar to get patties and drinks. Butts sagging. Ok,hold on and let me get myself together. You took me back. lol Overall it's a very nice place to stay, but only if you can get it at a good price...



sounds quite nice, but i just can't get into Negril, maybe i'll try again.

Thanks, great advice if she was a mature adult. She is not over the ex. It was just a few days ago she called the police saying she was me and that my ex was trying to break into my house. I have a restraining order on my ex and the cops flew over here. And he wasn't here. She calls daily private name/number trying to see if he's here. Everytime she calls I block the number she called from but then she finds a new phone # to call from. She is either trying to make him jealous or set me up. Good thing I'm no fool. I guess I need renew the restraining order I had on her.



wow, well if u have a restraining order, do not go, cause then if anything happens u will be at fault. can't belive she tried to set your ex up like that...she sounds like nutcase.

oops read your post wrong...u have the order against your ex, but he might be there so still don't go.

It's hard to say whether the invitation is because she wants her daughter to know your children or if she wants to get you there and start picking you for information about your ex. Whatever you do, try to make the best decision for the sake of your children and yourself. Be careful and don't fall into any traps. Good luck!!!

Oh I'm definitly not going, the thought never even crossed my mind. If I could explain how crazy this chic is.....boy oh boy. I just can't believe she had the balls to invite us over. I've always told my ex I never needed to be hurt or bitter about the situation between him & I because karma got him GOOD. She has brought him down and continues to ruin his life every chance she gets. And she needs to learn to keep me out of her drama!

Sorry for laughing at first.... I agree with Jengs depending on how long it's been, try talking at first, see where her head is at...that is if you can tell laughing.gif . I'd be afraid to go around her for fear of beatin her down too.

HHHHHHHaaaaaa my girl that is so true. That's a good price for Jamaica Grande. I like it their it's really nice. If you're going to be there check out Magarita Ville on Wednesday night. I can't remember what nights I use to go to Amesia and there's another club. I know Ray is going to be surprise. Poor Marcel, he thinks I'm coming to Jamaica in June. His friend is picking me up at the airport next month April 9th and I can't wait. I'll also be in Jamaica in June, so maybe we can link up. I stay at my dad's house in Trelawny. So, if you don't mind the COUNTRY you're more than welcome. Hopefully the renovations will be done by then. Me and dave stayed there back in November and it was $399 for each of us. Seems like it's cheapest in the summer and then again during hurricane season, when i went LOL.

Dave and Ray are both from Ochi and since me and SunnyJa were down there around the same time last month, we all did Margaritaville on Mondays and wednesdays.....Ur right Lawny, Wet Wednesdays at M Ville is pretty fun. Amnesia has ladies night on Thursdays which is good too.

I've never stayed at the RIU but for the price, the Sunset Grande was pretty nice and it's closer to everything when ur ready to go into town. I think I'd like the RIU but since Dave doesn't drive, it just ends up being too far from his work and town sad.gif One thing I didn't like at the Sunset Grande is you have to plan ur dinner reservations wayyyyy in advance if their busy and sometimes it felt like we were "rushing" to make sure we had a sit down dinner. Other than that, staff was real nice and accomodating....well outside of the housekeeper who spilled bleach near one of Dave's shirts! mad.gif The manager paid us for it but still....a little suspect for a place with that kinda reputation....don't ya think???? wacko.gif

Agreed, I'm just hoping she's out grown the need for this thread, re: info regarding immigration and nothing else. She most likely wouldn't feel comfortable sharing anything else, here esp.

I'm thinking she closed her account for reasons related to something else. Some folks at her job got in trouble for being on the internet or something a few months ago so maybe she just "closed it" temporarily to prove a point so no one at work could see her sites, emails etc. from here on out.

If I talk to her tonight, I'll let u guys know if she's o.k. and that we're thinking about her in case she wants to talk.

Went to SJG in Sept last year. I liked it alot especially cause I was getting a break from no electricty and cold showers and sometimy water flow...haha.

Anyway we got a deal of less than $350 for the 2 of us. I thought it was catered to kids alot which was cool but you couldn't have food in your room, so no room service or bringing food up...I didn't like that at all. Also there were no motorized water sports included so that sucked. The food was good though. I ate at the restaurants and buffet. Oh but at the end of the stay...why did we go to check out and had a charge from someone (maid) using our room phone. Yeah I had to settle that quick quick. I thought the location of SJG was cool, but I think I would like to try the RIU cause I feel like SJG was missing alot of amenities. I would have been disappointed had I not paid so little for the stay.

I can't remember what nights I use to go to Amesia and there's another club. I know Ray is going to be surprise. Poor Marcel, he thinks I'm coming to Jamaica in June. His friend is picking me up at the airport next month April 9th and I can't wait. I'll also be in Jamaica in June, so maybe we can link up. I stay at my dad's house in Trelawny. So, if you don't mind the COUNTRY you're more than welcome. Hopefully the renovations will be done by then. We pass Trelawny on our way to Ochi, so it's not that far away. I go to Margaritaville a lot when I go to Ochi since I normally stay in town and I love it. last Month Ray wanted to go to Amnesia and I got dressed and we walked to him mom's house, but I was so tired that I layed down and went to sleep. We never made it, so I'll be sure to go this time. We are going 6/2-6/6, but I may stay a little longer. I'll have to see.

I would love to meet up if our travel dates are the same. Hmmmm, your guy cousins will be there huh? I'm thinking if I should I bring Ray or not???? I think I'll bring him...

I agree with you, I think the reason we liked SJG so much too is because we got a REALLY good rate for the 5 days but ur right about the "no room service" and stuff like that. They make it so u HAVE to eat all your meals at certain times and since i smoke cigarettes...I didn't like how you couldn't smoke in your room or really anywhere on the property but outside. mad.gif

The food was decent and i enjoyed the beach, the pools and some of the entertainment....the bar in the main lobby was my favorite cause u could smoke cigarettes out there and here music 24-7 laughing.gif Overall, the best thing about SJG is the location and the fact that when it goes on sale, ur only paying about $100 a night for 2 people. Otherwise, I heard the RIU is the best all inclusive in Ochi....if you don't mind not being able to really Walk to anything close by.

You know how I feel about supporting those who I think can help themselves.

If it were me and I agreed to help put in the electric, I would be very focal about her making sure she can pay the bills. Whats the point of putting in electric if she is going to cry poor every month and beg for money to pay the bill? I think it is something you really have to talk about with hubby.

I saw a crane crashed down in New York City and a tornado in downtown Atlanta. Is everyone who lives in those areas okay today?

RIU is the same way. There's no room service, however they do allow you to take food to your room. I love the rooms at the RIU and the fact that they have a mini bar and fridge in each room. The watersports are the same as SJG. Only non-motorized watersports. The speciality restaurants have to be reserved way in advance and you have to get up at the crack of dawn to try to get a reservation.

i know..but he is so used to the "Jamaican" way of raising kids..i tell him to let her be a child..if she puts her toys all over the place it's a problem..awwww i'm tired....he said even other kids that r not his "run" to him even when they don't know him..i say well try going btwn them and they're mom at 2yrs old...

Sounds like you and I both love the RIU. I didn't think the speciality restautants were worth all the trouble...the only thing I remember about being at that resstaurant was paying an outrages amount for OFF after being eaten by misquetoes while wating to be sevred all night.

Ditto I'm sure it just takes time...It must the the JA way, cause my hubby's the same, even with my children. Esp. with the toys everything for that matter. She's only 2. How long have they actually been apart?

She'll be 3 in September...we had many trips in btwn from she was 2mths old til about 18mths...and just as she was walking and getting around and such..we only made one trip b4 he came..that was a hard trip even though she knows him..she didn't want to US to be in the same room..as soon as they are alone it's a dif story....and when he reprimands her i feel like he's over doing it and i don't sat anything of course but she feels me ..if u know what i mean..it's tough..

we don't have a yard for her to run around in especially winter time...

I don't know about the "buying" part. In my case yes, My children are not his and I felt like my husband had to first develop a friendship/ reationship with my children first before trying to tell them what to do. IMO as long as your not disagreeing about it infront of her, cause she sounds very smart for her age and knows her mama will stand up for her, only disagree about things in private with your hubby... let her know he as the upper hand....just my .025 cents worth(not even a penny's worth laughing.gif ), other wise she'll learn she can play the two of you against each other.

You know how I feel about supporting those who I think can help themselves.

If it were me and I agreed to help put in the electric, I would be very focal about her making sure she can pay the bills. Whats the point of putting in electric if she is going to cry poor every month and beg for money to pay the bill? I think it is something you really have to talk about with hubby.

I saw a crane crashed down in New York City and a tornado in downtown Atlanta. Is everyone who lives in those areas okay today?




No I don't know anyone whi lives close,(Atlanta) but someone mentioned it at work today and of course I was clueless.

Ok i have a real problem


I NEED KIMORA TO DEVELOPE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HER FATHER...my gosh they drive me mad..one minute they're good and playing next min all hell break lose..I don't want him to start resenting her..cause she'll do stuff and he'll say "see, she ave sense" yes but dat no mean she understands what is meant..she lives to mimic...he doesn't get that he needs to "buy" her to win her over ..know what i mean ??..they make me MAD...is it that I"M the problem ?




I don't know about the "buying" part. In my case yes, My children are not his and I felt like my husband had to first develop a friendship/ reationship with my children first before trying to tell them what to do. IMO as long as your not disagreeing about it infront of her, cause she sounds very smart for her age and knows her mama will stand up for her, only disagree about things in private with your hubby... let her know he as the upper hand....just my .025 cents worth(not even a penny's worth laughing.gif ), other wise she'll learn she can play the two of you against each other.
