I have found this sight today and you have treasure chest full of information here. My hope is that I can find out certain information as well as contribute my experiences that I will come across.
I am just starting on the K-1 Visa for my fiancee who is from China. When I visited my fiancee we thought we had everything under control and we understood everything. I have been a little more then confused to say the least on this and so is my future wife.
I have some questions I hope can be answered.
1. I live in the State of Ohio. Where do I send my Petition for a K-1 to? I have to many conflicting answers.
2. How long does it take to process the 129F visa?
3. The 134 affidavit of support. I was self employed the past 4 years and in 2006 was a real down year for me. I have been told that you need 3 years tax returns that exceed 125% of the poverty line. In 2006 I missed the income requirement by about 4K. The other years 05 and 07 are fine. I recently accepted a new postion that more then passes the minumum requirement on the poverty line.
4. I have been told that if my assets equal 5 times the poverty line I can provide this in lieu of tax returns. They more then exceed and are well over 6 figures and debt free.
If I could recieve any help on this subject it would be great appreciated. Thanks.

One further clarification. If your income is enough per the 2007 tax return, you can skip the asset portions of the I-134 when the time comes but if you need to use liquid assets to cover an income shortfall, you fill out the whole form and document all income and all assets shown. If your liquid assets are substantial, you can skip the home appraisal though.
