I had my naturalization interview today. Everything went very well. My husband had to be there with me because my 1751 is still pending. The officer just asked some general questions on my application to make sure everything was still current. She asked to see some proof of joint resindency and of our life together. Then she asked 3 / 4 questions about our relationship and then we moved onto the test. I was asked 6 questions, I had read one of them and then I had to write a sentence.

She is recommending the approval and said that there is one more security check that needs to be done before she can approve my case. She said that I should get a letter in the mail in a couple of weeks and that the oath ceremony will probably be within 3 months.

When I asked about the security check she said that it was local and that it should only take a couple of days and it should not delay anything.

Hopefully everything will continue to go as good as it has so far.

What did you bring for the proof of living together etc.

Congrats on the successful interview!!!!! I am waiting for my interview date, so hopefully I will hear something soon.

What questions were you asked for the exam? I'm getting really nervous about this because I have the worst memory and I'm the worst test-taker ever.

Sorry... double post. I think the VJ website might be slow this morning, or else it's my computer!!! innocent.gif
Waiting4GC
It is not your computer. I just noticed that my post was doubled as well. I don't know how to delete the other one.

I brought pretty much what was mentioned in the list sent with the interview notification. I had copies of our tax returns for the last 3 years, copies of 2 bank statements (one from about 5 years ago and another one from 1 month ago showing that we had commingled our assets from the beginning of marriage), copies of benefiary information for retirement plans, copies of car and health insurance, and copy of deed in our house.

I only remember 4 of the 6 questions asked: Colors of the stripes in the flag, Where is the white house located, when was the constitution writen, what is the capital of Oh.

My I-751 is also pending. Did your interview letter say that your husband had to come with you, or did they send a separate letter about the pending I-751?

Were you both together for the whole interview, or did they separate you? What kind of questions did they ask about your relationship?

I am curious, because our I-751 is still pending and we will be sending the citizenship petition soon. We have never had an interview so I want to be prepared.

Yes, the officer allowed my husband to stay for the whole interview. The interview was also done together. He was asked to come because of my pending I751. We were asked when, how and where we met, was our wedding nice, was the proposal nice, and what have we done since getting married. Then, she said that he could stay for the rest of the interview but could not help me at all. Here is where she went over my N400 application to check for correctness once again and asked all those questions at the end of the N400 form. I believe this was done because the interview was being recorded. She then proceed to ask the citizenship questions: Colors of stripes in the flag, Location of White House, Year the constitution was writen, what is the Capital of Ohio, name the 49th State, and another one I can't remember.

Wow, it really took that little time for processing....THRU NEBRASKA!!!! ohmy.gif

Congratulations! It's almost all over, this long ordeal with USCIS. You only have one more step and then...woohoo... no more USCIS forms EVER! Just watch, you'll get your 10 year GC aobut a week before your Oath ceremony... whistling.gif LOL

It gives me hope that one day we'll be all through with it too.
