When you sent the DS230 for your children did the NVC ask for a motorized letter from the other parent for the child? I am seeing a trend and wanted to see if it was also the case for CR1's with Children coming also. Please post your experiences. I was asked for the letter however my kids came as CR2's

I haven't got that far yet. However my consulate has told me that I need to either have a notarised letter from my sons father or a court order proving custody. They did say that I can write a letter stating why I have the legal right to move my child and don't have either of these, it will then be up to the consulate officer to make a decision on whether to grant the visa.

Yes they need authorazation to leave the country with only one parent. Good Luck
