Hello!

For the past months I have been reading this forum a lot and it has helped me tremendously with putting all thw papers together.

We finally filed the I130 for my husband in Frankfurt on January 11th, so 51 days ago. We already had all the decuments together and so my husband signed the checklist right then and there.

Now we have been waiting (im)patiently, but so far didn't hear anything. Since we are planning to leave in the middle of April, at least I am getting a bit nervous. I thought the whole process should take 60 to 90 days. Assuming that we should receive the interview appointment about four weeks prior to the actual date, we'd alrady be at 79 plus however long it'll take them to issue the visa.

Are there any other people out there who have file in Frankfurt recently? I couldn't find any relevant timelines. So please let me know how things are grogressing!

Thanks so much!

Have you tried e-mailing them? They responded fairly quickly to mine.

Uummum,...I have a timeline,...I faxed a checklist off on the 21st feb 2008, and had an appt letter in the mail 4 days later for the 7th March. I emailed them to reschedule the appt because We had prior commitments. But time between faxing, and first appt was 11 days including weekend. We rescheduled for the 12th.

I lodged paperwork on October 22, 2007 originally and got the approval letter on 18 December 2007. But held off faxing the checklist in, even though I was ready on the day, becasue I was waiting for my husband to come back from iraq.

Do you even have your approval letter yet?. Ours took two months from lodging. So, if it goes by mine and a few others in here, you should have an approval around about March 11th maybe. Then once you have an approval letter, I would either wait an see if they send you an appt for interview with that, or I would suggest emailing the IV unit as soon as you get the approval letter.

I assume you have the medical done already too??

Never plan on leaving on any date, until you have your approval. best laid plans never work out when it comes to USCIS.
On that note, the reason I have a fly out date is because we are military, and we were asked when our Government orders said we had to leave by.
And, we are filing these for my daughters, I have already been through the process, and lifted conditions, thats why it says so off to the side.

Hey there!

I am also in the same boat, just a bit further along. My husband had his appt in FRA Jan 28 and it went very well. They kept his passport and said we should be hearing from them in about 2 weeks once his entire medical papers arrive. His appt was a week later here in Leipzig and since that date it has been about 3-4 weeks since we've heard anything. We are planning on leaving mid-May and have already sent out our 3 months notices from apt, phone, etc. Getting a little nervous but we told them that we hope to leave mid-May so I hope they take that into consideration.

It is a bit surprising that things are moving slow now since we first sent off our I-130 mid-Oct, got a response early Nov and sent off the DS-230 checklist mid-Dec and the reply came just before Christmas. My husband then received his interview time and about a week before he went to the doc and found out that he was missing a vaccination. That is what had to be taken care of a week after the interview.

I didn't realize that they actually respond to the emails that quickly. Where should I write to?

Hope everything works out for the best! Good Luck!

FrankfurtIV@state.gov

Thats the email for the immigrant visa unit.
Just make sure you include the case number(starts with FRN), and name in the subject. Once you send an email, they send you an immediate system generated response email. And that email says they should reply within 3 days. But I have always had a response the next morning.

Good luck to you too,..

uscis.frankfurt@dhs.gov is the USCIS office in Frankfurt for the OP.

I didn't have a problem with either one responding to e-mails.

Hey Guys,

After worrying the last week and then finally writing in the forum this morning we just received the packet. Talk about a coincidence. So that makes our timeline complete.

We filed mid-Oct. and now it has come to a close beg. March making it a little over 4 months. Would have been sooner if we had returned paperwork immediately.

I hope the rest of you have as much luck!!!
