As everyone knows my Husband has been invited back to the embassy on wed March 5th after being on AP since Sep of 2006. I kept e-mailing the embassy every week and it was only at the last min. Was told that if the medical and the police certific was expired we would have to get a new one..........I was not even aware that this was going to be a second interview....I was told by the state Dep. that they considered his interview a success and that all we were wating for was the security check to complete the AP......So I did some checking and found out that his police cer. expired in Jan.....He is going to try and get a new one or a renewl of the first on on monday.....Im not sure how long that will take ......Or if he even truely needs one......What do you think????

Contact the offices here and see what is going on. Maybe the embassy overseas has messages mixed. But if you could renew the certificates I would do it to be on safe side. Even if he doest have them in time......have him print out all the emails you have been sending and the few that they have snet you so that he could show that they gave no advance warning andtherefore he did not have enough time to get the results of medicals and certificates. But I would want to show them that he did attempt to get them done.

If the police and medical are expired the embassy will require new ones. Once they are given to the staff and they are satisfied they will issue the visa. Police certificates vary on how long they are valid from three months or longer. The medical is usually good for one year but the embassy can request an updated one as well. Good luck and hopefully it will not take long to get the requested information.

you get police certificate while you wait there is no delay orreturn needed for that.

My wife went the same day and got the police report. It does not take time, am sure it would be a breeze for you and yours

Do not go by what DOS tells you, go by what the embassy requests. If your medical and police cert. is expired you have to get a new one
EXCEPT the embassy tells you clearly that it is not needed. DOS does not know half the time what is going on.
Same goes for a new affidavit of support.
All our stuff expired and I am in the process of preparing the updates. It sucks !
If you don't it will delay the issuance of the visa.
