Hi,
I see from your timeline that you're a January filer like me.
We have got a little group going

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=104382

Maybe you'd like to join so that we can keep abreast of what's happening with our January cases ?

We're all hoping (fingers crossed) the wait time should be quicker than the anticipated 6 months for approval .... plus, I too am an Army wife, so will understand a few of your frustrations while your Husband is deployed.

Click on the link above and ask to be added to the timeline ..... everyone is really nice, and supportive .... plus it's good to have a specific group to belong to sometimes.

Goodluck with your application,
Sarah x

I have a tracking sheet of NOA-1 to NOA-2 for CR-1/IR-1 filers. You can find it in my blog link below. Should give you an idea of how things are going. I averaged the time between NOA-1 and NOA-2 and right now, its at 93 days.
coolgt
if you have RFE you get about 90 days with RFE take 6 months

Wow .... 93 days! That's not bad going ..... and that's with the so called back log !? content.gif
Does that mean with all the K3 cancellations, they may be able to concetrate more on the I-130 and speed it up to the good old days again ??? yeah!!!

.... I remember 6-8 weeks 'visa in hand' back in the 80's - early 90's ..... I doubt it will ever be that quick again .... but 6 months visa in hand (which has already suggested to me) is a feasable thought for the future .... possibly ?

.... sorry to those who want their K3, that was a purely personal 'yeah' ....

Keep in mind that the bulk of IR-1/CR-1 wait time occurs at the NVC and waiting for a consular interview. My guess: 12-18 months for completion as the back log catches up to the NVC and the Consulates.

You will not likely be complete in 6 months. First, you have to get your I-130 approved by USCIS, then your file is transferred to the NVC and you will be required to submit more information, forms, and payment, then your application goes to your nearest U.S. Consulate/Embassy where you wait for an interview.

Hi there,

I am a US Marine Corp wife (and proud of it) all the way in South Africa while my husband (one of THE FEW THE PROUD) is stationed at Camp Pendleton on active duty. We filed on 20 August 2007 at California Service Centre; receipt says 1 October 2007; touched a few times but nothing yet. And so the wait continues

I understand the confusion, I've also read your posts where you want to meet your Husband off the plane from Iraq .... 15 month deployments are not a fun thing to deal with, and I feel for you.
I'm sure a lot of VJers will be sympathetic to your desire to meet your Husband back from war, and your impatience with the system.

My Husband did 2 tours in Iraq and I'm thankful he came home safe ... (He was too close to not doing so a few times). He's changed units now (thank God), but goes active again in a few weeks, I pray he won't be sent again .... I don't want to discuss on a public forum what he did or what he will be doing.

We as military folk can at times get a little help, and thankfully have direct contact with immigration. The website for the number is on the following link. My Husband has found them very helpful.

http://www.military.com/military-report/im...ESRC=miltrep.nl

I have requested a separate forum for US Military Spouses as some of our processes and worries are a little different to other non military folk.
I do hope they make the forum as it will enable us to not only support each other through the times when our loved ones are facing danger etc. but it will give us the opportunity to share military specific immigration information with those who are new to the system (paperwork incase the worst happens, medical and ID cards when out of the US etc)
If an administrator is reading this, please can you chase up my request.

Because of your specific situation, I would personally contact Senator McCain and ask for his help. He has direct knowledge of our lifestyle. However, please bear in mind that he is busy on his Presidential campaign trail, and so may not be able to reply immediately.

In the meantime, do join the January Filers thread and ask to be put onto the list, and try not to worry (easier said than done).
Your Husband is in my prayers for a safe return, and I thank him for the job he is doing, and thank you for being the supportive force behind him.
Sarah x

Hi Nadia, there's quite a few of us military spouses on here. That's terrible that you've been waiting over 6 months for approval .... the backlog I understand is quite hefty.
Have you tried the Military helpline ? They look into your file online while you chat to them ... and yes, you do get put through to a real Immigration Officer yes.gif .... we've found them to be quite helpful.
Also, as it's been this long, I would definately suggest requesting help from your Senator.
I hope you hear something soon, fingers crossed.
Goodluck and let us know how it's going

I don't want to make you feel bad but for me it took 255 days for I130 to be approved and almost 90 days in NVC total 436 day from NOA1 to interview day but may be I'm exeption
wish you all the best good.gif
