My interview is getting close & my fiance has already sent to me the documents I will need for my interview. However, he did not include a letter specifying that he is working for a company. He is an independent contractor & self-employed. Is it really required to have the letter with me during the interview?I already have with me his notarized I-134, 2007 ITR, 1099 for 2007 and W2s for year 2006 & 2005. I asked him for this letter but he told me it is not necessary. What should I do?I need your advice... unsure.gif helpsmilie.gif

Just relax. I think you'll be ok. Its good to have one but I dont see anywhere that an employment letter is required. I think your notarize I-134 and W2s for 3 years are enough.

I submitted my I-864 for my wife withuot an employment letter and I'm not planning on sending her one.

Good luck. Please let us know when you passed your interview. I know I always get excited when someone pass this last few stages of the process. :-)

on my fiance interview, the consul did not ask for my employment letter..he just asked for my ITR 2007 and I-134..if your fiance made way above the poverty line, don't worry too much about the employment letter..in proof of relationship, he asked for email, cards, and chikka conversation blink.gif ..i can't believe he asked for the chikka..i'm glad i print out about 3 pages of our chikka conversation...goodluck!! good.gif
