It's thursday night here and thursday eves is the regular sched for our church cell group praying meeting..... well, at least some of my prayers were answered. There's another january VSC filer who got approved, also one july VSC filer and one of my friend who filed @ CSC last november. I am really so happy for all of them
I just hope God will also remember that I did include the granting of our I-129F approval in my prayers.
... Well, maybe He is just waiting for the perfect time. His perfect time maybe a little different from mine but He is still the Boss & the Captain of my life.... I am just praying for more understanding and more patience and more faith to help me through this process so i would be able to take it no matter how long He wants me to wait.

It must be helpful to have faith like you do. I've never had a religion so I can't pray.....

I'm with you. I was raised with religion but kind of look at many different ones that i've incorporated into my belief system. This of course doesn't mean i don't pray.

I'm not like the highly traditional holier than thou religious people who try to shove their faith and beliefs in other people's throat. I'm actually tolerant and understanding of different people's beliefs (as long as there is no killing or hurting other people as sacrificial offering). when i hold all of you guys in my prayers, it doesn't mean I am forcing you to believe the God i believe in... It's just me wanting to hold all of you in my thoughts when I talk to Him... Like a child happily telling her father or mother about her new friends in prep school and what she wish for them to have.... and of course I want all of you to have not only petition(I-129F) approvals but also VISA approvals plus a lifetime of happiness with your respective S.O... and of course, I pray the same for myself

It only means we are getting closer to being the only ones on the list. Why can't January be the first month when no one gets left behind?
I am worried about two potential snags in our case. Firstly, my divorce was finalized only a week before we filed. Yes, I sent in copies of all the paperwork with the official seals and all, but who knows how they will view it. If they RFE it, other than sending in the originals, there is nothing 'more official' that can be sent. Secondly, my SO has a very common name that will no doubt generate a huge list to check over. Not a big deal if it only adds extra time to our case, but what if they mix him up with one of the bad names on the list?? Ugh. I just want this done already.
I can't help but wonder what checks do they do when they get our petition?
My SO's second name isn't particularly common I don't think....'Bergman'.....and he was in the US Marine Corps for 8 years so he should have an exemplary record.....

I'm with you there. Toby and I have been together 3 years, we have proof of spending time together over the last 3 years and yet we're still waiting........it kinda sucks

Originally I was very worried about this as well. So I hunted around for stories similar to my own (I had a very unhappy and quick first marriage that legally ended a month before I filed). It's not USCISs job to hand out judgement - it's their job to make sure the relationship is genuine and not fraud.
Their prerequisites don't say "you have to be divorced for a certain period of time" they say you have to be legally able to marry - and you are. Don't worry it'll be fine.
And my SO has a very very common name as well - which is why I think the continuation of file touching (background checks being cleared maybe??). I am scared to go back through my petition to find out what the hold up is... I'm already nervous that I made another simple mistake!
I am starting to be a bit pessimistic as well as I watch February filers get approved. Don't get me wrong - I am so so so so happy for everyone but I wish I could join in the celebrating!

It only means we are getting closer to being the only ones on the list. Why can't January be the first month when no one gets left behind?
I am worried about two potential snags in our case. Firstly, my divorce was finalized only a week before we filed. Yes, I sent in copies of all the paperwork with the official seals and all, but who knows how they will view it. If they RFE it, other than sending in the originals, there is nothing 'more official' that can be sent. Secondly, my SO has a very common name that will no doubt generate a huge list to check over. Not a big deal if it only adds extra time to our case, but what if they mix him up with one of the bad names on the list?? Ugh. I just want this done already.
Originally I was very worried about this as well. So I hunted around for stories similar to my own (I had a very unhappy and quick first marriage that legally ended a month before I filed). It's not USCISs job to hand out judgement - it's their job to make sure the relationship is genuine and not fraud.
Their prerequisites don't say "you have to be divorced for a certain period of time" they say you have to be legally able to marry - and you are. Don't worry it'll be fine.
And my SO has a very very common name as well - which is why I think the continuation of file touching (background checks being cleared maybe??). I am scared to go back through my petition to find out what the hold up is... I'm already nervous that I made another simple mistake!
I am starting to be a bit pessimistic as well as I watch February filers get approved. Don't get me wrong - I am so so so so happy for everyone but I wish I could join in the celebrating!

I'm having a sucky week - I got a fine today from a policeman who made me sit in the back of his car while he wrote me a ticket for answering my mobile phone while i was driving. Add that to my dentist visit on Wednesday and I seriously need something good to happen before this week finishes!

I'm sensing there are a few of us who are having "one of those weeks." Hopefully this weekend will be a bit better - they like to do things on Sundays at VSC for some reason. Crossing my fingers!
I had another quick question for those of you who received your NOA2, do you think the system is updating overnight and you don't see it until the next morning or this an automatic thing where they press a button and instantaneously you get your email and updated status online. Even for my RFE response received they said March 11 but I didn't actually see it updated online until the 12th. Just wondering.

Marco spoke with his parents today and they told him they received packet 3 today!
They got our manufactured packet 3 yesterday! On Monday they will mail it back and we should have our interview date by the end of next week!! Frankfurt moves crazy fast

Saffyre... I'm sorry you're so down. When we left each other last month after three weeks together in NZ it was just tragic! I'm very strong but it took me quite a while to get out of that funk. We've had to come and go from each other for years and this was absolutely the worst time. I finally got back to focusing on the fact that we are headed in the right direction and soon he will be back in my arms where he belongs.... never having to leave again! I hope you get back there soon too!

Thanks for your kind words. I know you're right, but some days I just feel rotten and today is one of them. It seems this process has brought out an OCD side of me I didn't know existed! I've always been quite mellow and chilled out, but with my future happiness riding on someone elses 'good or bad day' i'm getting a little antsy with each day that passes by. All these early approvals make me so happy for them, but so concerned that mine seems to be sitting on a shelf somewhere.....
This is why i need to numb myself for a while......and honestly, it's rare that I drink!
Oh, I know how you feel! I had my man here with me for a year and a half and now it just seems like a piece of me is living on the other side of the world. And i've not even filed yet! I know it's hard. Thank goodness I have my kids and my business to keep me busy and my days usually fly by. Perhaps it's time to think of a new activity/hobby you can do? Maybe another p/t job? Perhaps something you can do as a surprise for your SO when you are finally together? I guess what i'm saying is try to use the energy you're building up towards positive things. Afterall... you wouldn't be in so much pain about all of this if you weren't so in love with him! And love... is the greatest power and gift there is. Of course, tequila is good medicine now and then too! :lol Just be safe about it! Too bad you're not in Massachusetts!

I actually have an interview to get a PT bar job to keep me busy. That's tomorrow morning - and it'll help with the immigration costs too. I hate the thought of being dependant on Toby. A new hobby isn't a bad idea though - any ideas?

Constant dieting, huh? About 10 years ago I lost close to 200 pounds. Getting2Goal <--- my personal web site. It's almost 10 years old now too!
I guess what you do with your time depends very much on what you like. Exercise is very therapudic to me now and I think I do it more to keep my sanity than to lose weight! Maybe a new physical activity like hiking or swimming? Some people like crafts too... maybe scrapbooking or it's not even too early to think about Christmas ideas. I love photography so taking pictures and working in photoshop is fun for me. Because I work for myself and have to communicate with Russ via the internet, i'm always on the computer my free time is often spent as far away from the computer as possible! There aren't enough hours in the day for me to get done what I need to so i'm rarely looking for things to do. Another job should help you to stay busy. Tending bar should be fun for you! My mom(57) is retired but tends bar for fun and loves it!
