Was she hired from outside the organization or was she promoted?

I wish I could share with you some personal experience in dealing with a difficult boss but I have never experienced one... co-workers from hell & clients from hell, I have had a few of them but of course that is another thing.

Must be really tough dealing with a difficult boss. You would need to have a lot of patience to survive the day. Has anybody experienced dealing with a difficult boss like psiprez? How was it like and how did you handle it?

psiprez, i can only hope things will get better at the workplaceand may we all get our NOA2 soonest. good.gif .

If you come from a place that snows like I do (NY)... there are different kinds of snow. There is real powdery dry snow that you can't build anything with, there is heavy wet snow is a ###### to shovel. All kinds in between. Those perfect pictures of snow capped mountains and fields of white are for like 1 day only... cause then some if the snow melts and it gets dirty and then the melted snow freezes and there is ice everywhere. The soft snow gets hard and crunchy if it doesn't melt or there is no new snow.

But in theory you can build just about anything with snow... think of it like sand on bech where people make crazy designs...

The best thing to do in snow is ski! Or watch if through a window with a fire blazing, wine and your loved one

She was moved laterally from a whole separate department, so that they wouldn't have to promote anyone, to save a buck. But then, she should never have gotten the position in the old department in the first place. She was hired off the street 8 months ago after having never worked a day in her life (newly divorced after 25 years of cushy living). I have eight years of management experience in this field. The higher ups even admitted to me that the only reason they were putting HER in the position was so that she'd get overwhelmed and quit. Unfortunately, she is too much of a dim bulb to realize she should leave, and the company is too scared of ramifications to fire her. I was told "Just wait a few months until she quits." Well, I know better than to give any weight at all to statements like that! So instead, I am stuck in a part-time position, with my oldest co-workers being literally 19-years-old. Grrrrrrrr.

It's just so exasperating. I just want to be able to take care of my kids. I could care less about an actual career, just about being able to put food on the table (which isn't always possible). I've recently sold my house, and rent from the new owners. I honestly don't have a clue how I make it all work each month. You see, I got divorced myself after 16 years from an abusive man who still can't see that despite trying TO KILL ME in the end, he did anything wrong. Making a new life for my family since then has been an uphill battle, with the exception of my SO. There is not a more loving, kind and considerate person to be found, and he supports me through it all. It's hard for him to be so far away from us and not able to help out first hand, and that is part of the reason we are impatient for our approval. We know it won't be any easier when he first gets here, but are both committed and prepared to do what it takes to make it through. And we WILL make it through.

So which would I rather have.... money or love? I'm always saying, I'd rather be happy in a cardboard box than lonely in a mansion. Anyone can have money - it comes and goes, and there is always more to be had. Love is much more valuable and rare, and THAT makes me truly fortunate and blessed in the end. heart.gif

I called the NVC last night.....and after waiting on hold, they don't have our petition yet. I was getting a little anxious cause I saw some got there in 2 days... They said call back Monday. It's actually amazing yet how nice they are!

Ok enough of this.. I'm hungry..time for lunch!

There were a decent amount of approvals this week from what I could tell. I think so far things seem to be going well and I am going to keep my fingers crossed that they continue moving things through. whistling.gif

Having lived in New England my entire life, I can't imagine a winter without snow! We've had feet on the ground for months now! It's beautiful but this is the time of year it all starts to melt and the mushy grass and empty gardens start showing through. That's not so nice.

Hey!

I know exactly what you are going through. We had to wait to file our petition because my divorce wasn't final. The time will go by quicker than you think...and the VSC has sped up so much that the wait won't be too bad!

I know...I feel so badly for them...it's not their fault that their applications are at the slower service center...the whole thing is so unfair...

These applications should be processed in order, and it shouldn't matter what service center does it!!!

No recent approvals yet but there are 2 who got their NOA2 last week but just updated their timelines... there is also a couple who have encountered roadblock and had to move the filing date to march.

Well, CONGRATULATIONS are never late, so here's a SWING OF JOY for: Stephanie&Mauricio who received NOA2 on feb. 29, 2008 and Lisa&Ritesh who recieved NOA2 on mar. 2, 2008.

To Liam& Sam who got RFE, i hope you could share what the RFE was and I pray that you will get NOA2 soonest... I read some people here received approval a few days to a few weeks after submitting what was asked for in the RFE... So your NOA2 is probably on its way good.gif

My heart & my prayers goes to wifetobe (nathaniel&theodora)... i hope everything will be ok for them and that there will be no more roadblocks along the way.

For the rest of the January filers still waiting.... I believe we are all winners already when we met the love of our lives... The love that we share with our SO is the greatest price in this visa process and I hope this frustrating waiting game will never take our eyes and our heart from the real price: BEING WITH OUR ONE TRUE LOVE.

Awww dbears you are too too sweet! heart.gif The good news was that the RFE was over something minor. I forgot to check a tiny "yes" or "no" box on the I-129F. I couldn't believe it and felt like such moron considering I had gone over all of the documents several times before submitting. Oh well - I'm only human. wacko.gif I signed the paper immediately and sent it next day air. It was received on Saturday (Thank you to the mail room for being open there!) It was very comforting to hear you say that people responding to RFE's get back on track - I was curious and worried about how much this would slow down our process.

I just wish they could have sent me an email or something explaining why all the touches (my case status online never said they were requesting more info). When I got the RFE it all made sense.

And here I was sure you were about to get lucky! Well, at least you know they're working on it and now that they've got it back it shouldn't be long now!

I'm sure it won't hold you up too much. If it was something simple, the adjudicator probably wants to close the file out:)

I was convinced we were going to get an RFE and surprisingly didn't. We left several spaces blank on the I-129F...for example, Names of Spouse... He didn't have one, so instead of N/A we just left it blank. I was pleasantly surprised when we got our approval email smile.gif

See.. now i'm nervous because our file has been 'touched' quite a bit these last few days.. Made me go back through my paperwork to see if anything could be missing. Hope your case gets back on track ASAP now though.

Yeah, it beat my record (27 days)...it was from the Ukraine (19 days!!!)

Oh well - I'm only human. wacko.gif I signed the paper immediately and sent it next day air. It was received on Saturday (Thank you to the mail room for being open there!) It was very comforting to hear you say that people responding to RFE's get back on track - I was curious and worried about how much this would slow down our process.

I just wish they could have sent me an email or something explaining why all the touches (my case status online never said they were requesting more info). When I got the RFE it all made sense.

Consider yourself really lucky coz some received RFE after several months, 3-5 months for some, can you believe that?!!!... We've had 5 touches so far, last one was feb. 24, no approval yet.. and now, i am beginning to think that there was something wrong with our papers unsure.gif ... but i hope if we get rfe, they should just send it now and not wait 3months. That would be better than just guessing and wondering why all those touches.

I will be praying you get your approval soonest. good.gif

Do many touches followed by nothing necessarily mean that an RFE was or will be issued? Do some people get no touches and then..walla.. accepted?

No, it doesn't necessarily mean an RFE. It could just be somebody moving our file from one part of the desk to another. Touches could mean nothing at all... but it could also mean something.

Touches sometimes precedes an approval or an RFE... but there are also some approvals which did't even have any touch at all.... if only this process will be more transparent.

We got touched once (I suppose to put our file together), and then nothing until we were approved....and I've seen people touched often that were approved...it seems to be fairly random...

Yes, I'm looking forward to a short change of space & pace! Although I have to work from there, I do have 2 three day weekends. He's got next week off, so I suppose he'll be distracting me while I try to work laughing.gif

I'm just not looking forward to the 10 hours worth of flying, but thank goodness I only have 1 stop and a 1 hour layover. I suppose it could be much, much worse. I'm sure I'll surface back on the boards a little bit while gone. It will be good to get a temporary break from the insanity of the web and constant checking & hoping for NOA2 ...

But I'm sure one of us will end up needing to check .... biggrin.gif So we'll still be dealing with the agony of "received and pending" just not being able to obsessively check on it wacko.gif

Thanks Dawn!!! And you'll be just leaving to go see Darren 2 days before I come back home. As I said already, I know you are going to have lots of fun in the UK. And having just been through the recent countdown until seeing S.O., I bet you are getting quite excited & antsy already!!!

With the crazy approvals/timelines, I know actually being with him for a short while will actually calm my anxiety and insanity over hoping for the approval!!
