I know that feeling ... it's frustrating, definitely!!!!

I'm not going to book my flight until I have my interview but I wont wait for Visa in hand because i'm not planning on flying till the end of July anyway.

Did everyone remember that the UK beneficiary is entitled to claim back their taxes that trhey've paid this year so far? You may get all or just some of them back but you have a send a P85 to the tax office. I got an estimate that I would get about £900 back! Which is always nice.......

Just for your info, last time I flew to the states I booked it two days before and It was really cheap. I know that not possible for everyone but worth considering.

hm I think I may talk about it with him when he gets home from work I just like things planned and set dates and stuff hehe but with this whole visa experience I couldn't do that lol and that is waht really drives me crazy Maybe it would be safer to just wait, thanks you guys I shall be discussing this with paul soon woo

You know what troubles me, having to leave your passport .... in most places they tell you to make sure you have it in your ownership at all times. For example, Stephen is a UK citizen, however currently resides in Germany. He's supposed to carry his passport on him anywhere outside of his home. But when he leaves it at the embassy .... oi!!! That's just crazy ... I'm not sure I'd trust anyone else with my passport!!!!

OH MY, Dawn's list is getting so beautiful with those red marks.

Hope it will continue till the bottom and hope our remaining January VSC filers will be added on that soonest also.

Hello everyone,

First we would like to thank you all for your well wishes.. We very much appreciate them and wish everyone better luck than we had..

The Consulate officer reviewed all our documents and found they were all in order. The problems started arising when it came to her daughters the twin 14 year old girls. We have the certified birth certificates with Bella name on them as the mother.. We also have the baptismal certificates listing Bella as the mother.. This apparently isn't enough for the Consulate officer. They are requesting proof. Specifically they want to see photo's and documents from when the twins were "6" years old.. Not 7, not 5, but 6 !!

Then the questions started about our relationship. Bella had with her photo's, conversation transcripts, my plane tickets, hotel receipts etc. and I DHL'ed a new letter of intent to marry Bella with a date of a week ago.. She was asked, "did you know he has been married twice"? She said umm, yes, they asked, "are you sure you knew this"? She said "yes, I know, why?" No response, next question.. "What is Joe's best friends name?" She answered "Joe" ( his name is Joe also).. Then Consulate officer than said, "ok, but what is his whole name/proper name?" She did not know.. She was than asked what I do for work, she told them.. They then made her get very specific about what exactly do I do.. She told them I am a operating engineer in construction and I work with heavy equipment. She was not able to get more specific than that.. They then asked when was the last time I was in Bogota. She answered, February 10th. They then asked what we did.. She gave me a heart attack when she said she answered that we stayed in the hotel only and did nothing but make love..lol She actually answered we went to dinners and where, and took the kids to the amusement park, etc..

They then told her she needs to present more "proof of relationship"..

Bella has the information and photo's of the twins at 6 yrs. old.. I will be making more transcripts more copies of hotel receipts, and photo's, etc..

The next problem is how do you make the appointment to present the addition requested information? She was told she needs to buy a pin from the bank for each person at 50,000 peso per person and then present the pins to the embassy.. I haven't a clue what that's about.. They then told her that would take more time.. It would be better if I gave the information to my lawyer and have him get the new appointment.. I haven't used a lawyer for this.. Soooo, again, I haven't a clue how "I" can get the appointment scheduled.. So I will be here doing more research ..

THAT SUCKS BIG TIME!!! Is the consul an FBI agent? Was Bella there on interrogation for her involvement in a crime with international consequence? GOLLY!!!???

I'm so sorry that Bella has been subjected to that kind of treatment. Picture with your kids when they were 6 years old will not prove that she is the mother.... the birth certificate and baptismal certificate can do that better.... and if they don't trust those documents, why didn't they just ask for DNA test.

I hope and pray you will hurdle this and that everything will be fixed soon. Stay strong. Our prayers are with you always.

wow, it sounds like they're trying to make all the money they can out of this, eh? I would involve a lawyer and make sure he is good at what he does so they can't just keep doing this to people. On a good note, at least you have what they're asking for. I'd probaby contact my representative as well. good luck joe! btw... at least she answered honestly!

It's so good to see you January filers moving on to better places! I wish we knew why some people are left so far behind. Difference in adjuticating practices perhaps? Either way, I know it's just around the corner for you folks and I do hope that fact is getting you through it.

I am so sorry to hear your news, Joe. What a thing to insinuate about Bella's own children! The process is really cruel, sometimes - we have to expose so much of ourselves with the petition alone, whatever is demanded of us at the interview just adds insult to injury!

I really hope that others are able to answer your questions and that you can schedule a second successful interview, and that you'll be reunited in the US soon!

Joe, we are so sorry to hear your news. It's very disheartening to me that she was questioned about her own children, and asked to provide more proof. Like dbears said, why didn't they just ask for a DNA test. I thought it was an interview, not an interrogation!!!!!

This process seems so unfair where some people have such a hard time at interview and other embassys seem easier.

Yes, some embassies have more instances of fraud, hence the reason for more scrutiny, but asking Bella about her own children I think is pushing it a bit far...

I completely agree. Involving proof of children is really not cool. As long as you have their birth certificates, that should be sufficient.

Been pretty busy lately organizing my papers for medical and interview.. will be leaving to our capital city, Manila, on Monday (Sunday evening for some of you) and won't have easy access to PC and the net... Hi everyone! I need to get caught up on what's going on here after being gone for two weeks. I've been a bit *cough* busy.

We said our tearful goodbyes a few hours ago, but it was easier knowing that was the LAST goodbye we will ever say.

Hopefully Packet 3 is waiting for him when he gets home. I sent him back with a stack of paperwork almost three inches thick, so it won't take long to get it mailed back.

QUICK QUESTION!!
I sent check stubs and the whole packet to Paul a few weeks ago and the interview is in a few weeks, so it will be a month since they saw a recent paystub , is it recent enough or? I sent him the packet a while back thinking i would get the date sooner Should i just have him print out a recent bank statement online because I get direct deposit for my work checks, would that be fine?

Same as what I did ... I sent him copies from beginning of the year to paycheck before I mailed Stephen everything. And although I've had two more paychecks, he still only has up until 1st week in April. I don't think it should be a problem, but if you are concerned, could mail him a bank statement, or you could scan the most recent paychecks and email the image files to him to print.
