Did you guys see the post on the K-1 General Discussion forum about how "unfair" everything is? I didn't know that celebrating and supporting each other on our own thread was being insensitive to CSC filers, but someone has taken offense...I don't stop into the CSC thread and celebrate, THAT would be insensitive...

The way I look at it, if you don't want to read it, if it makes you feel bad, don't read it!!!

Well, let me clarify. It's unfair BUT I don't think that should stop Vermont filers from celebrating at all!

It's also unfair when someone who filed in a later month is approved before someone who filed in a previous month. But that's the luck of the draw - I think you just have to accept that and be happy for those that are approved. We all wait longer than we'd like to be approved, and we all know that we're taking a chance.

I agree, though - none of you have been insensitive and it's wrong that someone took offence at this thread.

Yeah, I've seen it too! I make a great effort to support everyone, regardless of what center. I realize, those of us at VSC might be in a luckier boat, because they are moving faster, but it's the same process and we know what it's like. My hearts go out to CSC filers - we might wait less time, but we still have to wait. Regardless, I plan on being around to support fellow January/February filers, regardless of the center.

Dawn,

I did see that. I think it's just the nature of people. I can understand sometimes why it's frustrating. For example, I filed before many of the January filers and there are some that have seen approvals... When people realize that this entire process is not personal, they'll get the big picture. At the end of the day, none of us like being told who to love, when to be with the person we love etc. I find myself very fortunate because Marco and I are together now, waiting for our approval. People just don't like not having control over everything....

Don't let it upset you... Continue on your congratulations, because as soon as any one of them receive their approvals, I guarantee they won't be concerned about anything elsel. It's just the nature of the beast.

I completely agree about the time issue...I don't think it's fair that people who filed before us (in either SC) are not approved...I would think that if I was approved or not approved....

I wasn't upset...just thought it was a little weird that someone would accuse us of that about our own thread...I went to look at that member's timeline, and there wasn't one...

I wish everyone well; I want everyone here (all of the visas) to have a speedy turnaround!!!

Hello to all the January filers! I've been a silent participant on this forum but I have to say thank you, thank you to everyone who posts all of the great info! I did have a quick question though: our NOA1 date was January 16 and our file has been touched several times since then - I'm at my 4th or 5th touch now (I'm losing count). Most couples have received 1-2 touches and then are approved a few days later. Should I be worried or try to call??

I've read in the past that sometimes the online tracking system doesn't update properly and was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem. I don't want to waste an hour on the phone for them to tell me it's still pending.

Liam and Sam...somebody sure seems to like you! laughing.gif I wouldn't worry about it or bother calling. I'd be cautiously optomistic that you're turn is coming!

I did reply to that thread you all are talking about.

VSC has always been faster. It has nothing to do with you...just someone else's frustration with the process and with CSC.

Don't let anyone take your happiness from you.

Can anyone explain this remarkable rebound in NOA2 time approvals?

I noticed that earlier K-1's from pre-summer 2007 and the filing fee increase had 1-2 month spans 'tween NOA1/2. In January when I researched everything there was no evidence that things would improve.

Anyway I am super psyched for all of you and your approvals... I am an early Feb filer and starting to think this process just may get a couple months shorter than I expected.

GO VSC... !!!

Well, they hired more staff and caught up with the backlog from last year.

If you research back a few years even, you'll see that they are just getting back to what has been 'normal' processing times for VSC. wink.gif I agree, it's a lot less daunting than it was last year!

Anyway, I'm rooting for you guys to get a speedy approval good.gif Besides, if the VSC makes the CSC look truely slow and incompetent, perhaps they'll effect the changes necessary to bring the two services in line with each other. wink.gif

I hope so for their sake...it can't be easy for you guys to know that a fluke of geography keeps you in a longer waiting room...and I do stop in to encourage, but sometimes I do feel awkward there since my waiting time was so short...I just feel kind of impotent to be able to help you guys...wish I could just call CSC and tell them to get their butts in gear, cause my friends are waiting!!!!

Don't feel awkward, most of us January CSC filers don't have much to talk about, since we're just at the beginning of the process. Our time will come, and we'll cheer, and high 5 each other, and thank God, and say OMG, OMG, OMG - just like everyone else - regardless of how long the process took. We do need to feel "the love", however, and encouraging words are always greatly appreciated. smile.gif

One of the reason also for this thread is to make people like dawn, who expressed guilt over being approved faster than others, feel that it is not her/their fault that they were approved quicker than the rest and that we do not hold that against them, instead we are here to celebrate with them.

Waiting is hard, no matter how long you have waited, it is still hard. What makes it harder still is when you see other people within your timeframe and after your timeframe gets approved so of course, those who are still waiting get envious, we cry and get depressed when our hopes gets so high only to crash at the end of the day but I still feel that we all want to be with our love ones with the same intensity and thus, we all put the same amount of hard work in compiling and arranging and filing our petitions. So I feel that each one of us deserve to be completely happy in getting our NOA2, no matter how fast or how long it takes. It is also not right for the happiness of those who have been approved earlier to be tainted with guilt. after all, they didn't approve themselves, they just got lucky... But their being lucky don't make those who are still waiting losers. NOA2 is a price for EVERYONE who can survive the process...

What's more important is those who already got approved have stayed on to continue cheering us who are still on the waiting list. And those who are waiting still have the positive attitude to be happy for those who are getting approvals. And even our CSC counterparts have been around giving their congratulations and support to those who got approved. And that somehow provide a more positive vibe for us all.... being positive and staying positive is what we do need to see this through.. that will be hard without the support of each one of us here. And I am so grateful for each one of you who have contributed to this thread.

I hope we will continue to celebrate for those who are getting their approval because they deserve it and also continue to provide support to those who are still waiting because they need it.... wait, i almost forgot I am still on the waiting list, MAN! blink.gif

Dawn, you have been doing a great job cheering us on, that is very much appreciated

There's two choices, let the negative people give us negative feelings or just let it pass and continue to be positive.... I'm chosing to be positive, other people's negativity won't make my NOA2 any faster and it also won't help me shed off my excess pounds nor tone my belly and underarm flabs...

What I know is, I'm gonna be a bride soon, I'm marrying my soul mate, my bestfriend and my lover before the year ends and I have our whole life together to look forward to, and that's most important to me than anything.

to others who have stayed on after their NOA2, to our CSC January family who have been around to add cheer & glee, and all our other visitors, and to those who are still waiting, heres a GROUP HUG

Oh, let me add, that those negative pipz won't make my internet speed run any faster... I guess I'm stuck with a DIAL UP pretending to be a DSL till i get to my big bears place.... but then, other people in the world have not even touch nor seen a PC so I still chose count it a good fortune to be able to afford a PC and an internet connection. rolleyes.gif

Kidding aside, I'm a tough girl, a really tough girl. I've been through a lot in life already that I don't get easily put down by negative people. here is one pic of us, it is in a motel room in Davao Philippines... motels don't have good connotation in the Philippines. Here it is just a place for lover's short time tryst, minimum stay is 3 or 4 hours (guess 3-4 hours is long enough to get rid of body heat wink.gif )... Now this one here is a motel adjacent to the hotel we stayed in when Rick was here the last time. they have very interesting themed rooms : chopper room, earthquake rooms, room of cards, titanic room, car room, and this one is the cage room or jungle room... we explored some of the the rooms with the help of one of the staff on the last day of our stay (both our hotel & the motel have same owner and i think same housekeeping staff. We were not allowed to take photos but I sneaked my camera in... Had we known rooms were more interesting there we would have opted to stay there and in a different room everyday laughing.gif .. but of course, it was not possible coz my kids stayed with us up to the last day... hmmm, maybe next time wink.gif

What can we say? its the life. We don't choose our center. VSC is faster than CSC, its not the fault of VSC filler. They get approved and they're happy about that. Its normal. The day my love and I we will get our NOA2 i will be so happy that i will shout it to the world. I'm at CSC and yes, its hard to see the difference between CSC and VSC. But i will never be angry against VSC filers.

I love my love and the only important thing to me its that we will be together.
