I just got back from my friend Tashi the Travel Agent and bought my ticket to see mero buda - on May 25 I will be flying on Etiad Airlines from JFK to Abu Dhabi and from there to KTM landing on May 26!!!! Hope he'll have the chili momos and Bhaktapur dahi ready for me!!!

I have really been feeling the distance these days and it is nice to know that we will see each other again soon - it ill have been 11 months since we last saw each other...

Thanks everyone - yes I realize a lot of my stressing out and focusing on potential negatives is simply because I am getting frustrated - we haven't seen each other in such a long time and I miss him so much... he was so happy when I broke the news to him this morning!

I am hoping at the end of this trip I will have learned to make them myself - MIL says she will show me. Should be fun. I will be there for his B-day on June 3rd so am hoping I can make his day really special. Last year we had a party with all of his KTM family and neighbors and it was the first birthday party he had ever had in his life. I ordered a cake at a bakery and his little sister started an icing fight where everyone started putting icing on other people's faces... I have a great photo of my FIL with a big grin on his face, his nice proper dhaka topi on his head and a big glob of icing on his chin!! We bought a bunch of veggies and I remember sitting on the floor shelling peas and shucking corn with his mom and sisters... Unfortunately the party was delayed thanks to the nightly power cuts - fortunately the lights were only off for 1 hour and then we ate our dinner.
