Cuban petitions may get expedited but will take them very very very very very long before they could have interview. The two couple was approved last January but their interview will happen by June, 5 months after approval.
Hmmm... that's pretty long indeed but probably still earlier than most CSC filers will have their interview then.. I'd still trade with them hehe
Oh well, I'm happy for them they don't have to wait so long for CSC but yah, I'd wish to see more CSC filers to be approved.

I can't wait to see more approvals to. Some peeps are thinking that uscis website doesn't work, but, if its true, why it works for VSC...
Even I make me busy, I'm still checking my timeline and igor's list and it really makes me depress when i see absolutely no moves from CSC...

The website works, that is the bitter truth. The bit about people one week updating their timelines from the prior week (not because of mail, but because of timing) is pretty standard. The simple fact is that I think the CSC isn't approving applications at this point. The focus, I believe, is on clearing the HB-1 workers visas. When you think about it that would be nuts. That USC's are forced to wait while foreign workers get an opportunity to work for microsoft (or whereever) is a$$ backwards. I have no problem with foreign workers having an opportunity to work here, however, they should stand in line like everyone else. I read on a Nebraska Service Center forum that the HB-1's take precedence over K-1's and other non-immigration visas. If that is really true I'm pissed - corporate America's desire for cheap labor shouldn't trump it's own citizens.
There - my rant for today.

I am wishing everyone the best of luck on their speedy approvals. I always remind people to expect the worst and hope for the best, that way you will be delighted when and if your petition is approved earlier than expected. If you expect the approval too soon then the wait becomes all the more agonizing and drawn out. I am not trying to be negative in the least, so I hope my message isn't taken that way. I am trying to assist those people who may still have a long wait ahead of them I filed in October in CSC and I guess somehow I was fortunate because my petition was approved and yet I see that many, many people who filed in October are still waiting. I was thinking our petition would take a good six months so I honestly didn't check timelines too often and I think the time went faster that way (I know, easier said than done).
Good luck to all of you. I guess all this waiting goes along with the saying "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger". The waiting, fees, and all the other hoops to jump through seem unfair but once you are together, in the same country, sharing and enjoying eachother's company, you can begin a new phase of life with your fiance knowing that your relationship survived a very difficult and trying process and you should be proud of yourselves for hanging in there!
Best wishes!!

Where do I find the January filers string? I was originally a September filer but due to a CSC mistake had to refile in January so I feel like this I-129F petition process is never going to end!
Thanks,
Gerald
Well, this is one - generally geared towards CSC filers (which you are) and there is also a January Filers thread that encompasses both CSC and VSC filers. Regardless of which service center people filed with - they are all welcoming and very nice. So welcome!
I'm sorry about the error at CSC, that doesn't make me feel good. What was the nature of the error? More than the rest of us, I understand your feeling that this process is never going to end, geez September? That stinks. So Gerald, where in the Ukraine does Vinera hail from. My SO is from Zapropzhje (yeah say that with a mouthful of crackers). How are you two working through this problem at the CSC?
Thanks for your concern. I first filed in September and my petition arrived at CSC on Sept. 20. Somehow from there it got in with a stack of I-130 petitions and since all I-130's are being forwarded to Chicago my I-129F went along for the ride. When it got to Chicago they correctly recognized it as an I-129F and instead of sending it back to CSC where it belonged they sent it back to my attorney. That whole process took form Sept. 20 to December 22! We re-filed in January and since them have been trying to have my petition put back in line where it would have been without the USCIS mistake. Finally got someone at the NSC to take my Expedite request 2 weeks ago and I received an email from an office Harris at CSC last Monday requesting documentation for my Expedite request which I sent that day. I also tried to respond to the email and send the documentation back as an attachment but I found out you can't do a reply to one of their email. It comes back an undeliverable because of unknown user. So, now I wait to see what get decided.
My Fiancée is from a little village outside of Melitopol. She owns a couple of small grocery stores in her village. There is a photo of her and I in one of them in our profile. I have made four trips to Ukraine in the last year. In August we went to Sevastopol on the Black Sea and it was absolutely beautiful. The water was as clear as a mountain stream in the Sierras! Lots of great places to eat for very little money also. We talk through Skype every day and also exchange letters while waiting for her Visa. Anyway thanks for asking this is a great support website

I think you're right when looking at the latest approvals. However, there were people stating before that they didn't had any approval notice by email and that it was not updated on the USCIS site but they did have the NOA2 by snail mail, that's a bit why I was figuring that what I said may have been a reason...
Oh well, another week, another round, let's hope they start with the K1 visa's soon again

Hello everybody
Hope everyone had a good weekend. And I also hope that CSC workers had a good weekend too and that they will be workaholics this week and approve many petitions! Actually, I'm not asking for "many". Just more than the previous 2 or 3 weeks.
lunabean, thank you for your advices.
Right now I'm trying to stop thinking of this process. Strangely enough, it seems that it started to really have a bad influence on me last week. Well, that's probably because of the slow pace of these 3 last weeks, and the fact that January filers at VSC are having their interviews and visa approvals. And also my mother doesn't stop asking me if there's anything new for the visa, and there isn't.
So if I'm not online as often as usual, don't worry I'm not dead, it's just that I need a break and that I'm trying to do other things with my free time.

And yes it's hard to see peeps who filled after us having already, NOA2 or even visa...

I agree sunnybear. It is nice to see the CSC getting a coupld of notifications out over the weekend, however, at least we know the system is working, albeit very slowly. If last year is any kind of guide, there were three very slow weeks followed by a rather significant up-tick in the number of approvals. Perhaps it is all related to the flood of H1-b visas that hit a few weeks ago, just like in previous years. Since we've just finished our third very slow week, perhaps fortune will smile on the patient.

Sorry to see things are no better at CSC, we waited 4.5 months for ours last year. Hang in there its coming soon, then once approved and through NVC it gets very fast for most countries, just 2-3 months to interview.
For others not so speedy
Good luck to you all.

Yikes, you had to wait a very long time for your interview!

Good luck to you, too, Pam - great to see more January filers posting in this thread.

Good Tuesday morning, all. I had a fun weekend - travelled six hours on Saturday, attended my friend's birthday party and then travelled six hours back on Sunday! I did meet two friends I hadn't seen in years, though, which was really good, and the party was good fun (and now there are hideous photos of me on Facebook, d'oh.

Hey guys...I kinda gotta unique circumstance here. My fiancée filed an I-129F for me on 3rd Jan. She had to give all the addresses i had been since the age of 16. I had been in 3-4 places from then on. Especially I am in Singapore now for my MS, I will be returning back to India in couple of months(We have requested the Visa process in Chennai Consulate). It will be a real headache for me to collect police certificates from all the places I have lived especially since I will be leaving Singapore in couple of months.
Another unique circumstance is:
My fiancée is completing her BS in San Jose. She is not working full time yet. So will there be a problem in her sponsoring me? Though her dad can be a co-sponsor (can definitely show more than 125% poverty). Will my fiancée not being able to sponsor directly be a problem?
Thanks Folks

Hi RagSwat,
The petitionaire will still be the main sponsor but when he cant reach the 125% and a cosponsor can, then theres not much of a problem as long as the 125% is reached (I believe you can even have more than one cosponsor, not sure bout that tho).

It's a good thing those H1-B's get priority too. With the economy booming as it is and unemployment at a 231 year low, Fortune 500 companies need as many new employees as they can get, and they need them yesterday! Gas has never been cheaper, quarterly results are pouring in and everyone is beating estimates by double digit percentages, I haven't heard of mass layoffs in... forever, and the dollar is at an all time high world wide.
In fact, I can't think of anything more important to the health of the nation and the long term prospects of the human species than corralling as many people as you can as fast as you can who will work for 50% of market rates, then giving the other 50% to yourself as a performance bonus. Thank God we are blessed with a government that has its head on straight and knows how to prioritize.

The week isn't half way for Igor's list.
Right now it is Wednesday, almost noon in Europe, so that means it is the night between Tuesday and Wednesday in the USA. Which means USCIS has worked two days this week so far.
People who were approved Monday might have discovered their approval Tuesday, and people who were approved Tuesday will discover today when they wake up. So that would mean that on Igor's list there are only approvals from Monday.
And..... I just checked on Igor's list and that isn't true: the NOA2 dates are 03/22 which is yesterday, and not Monday

So my theory doesn't work in practice.

Morning my fellow Jan filers....Well it is Wednesday here in the US so here's hoping we see some more approvals being posted on VJ today! I am ready to see some movement already!!! Ok and I am uber annoyed with the people that put in their "hope" date for NOA2 as Igors list still has not gotten rid of them at the top even though the person has now taken that date off after they got attacked a bit for posting that crap hahaha! Hello sunnybear!
I wonder how Igor's list works exactly. I mean, it's obvious that the data is not directly taken from the VJ database since their 'hope' date is still there. Which means it's somewhere in the cache. And then once an hour they look in the database for new approvals and add them in the cache? Anyway, as long as the code does bring all the new approvals, then it's Ok I guess!

I don't think that theory works like that.. not everyone updates their timelines right away, some dont check their mail or the uscis website right away, resulting in a not exactly correct figures in the list... nevertheless is the list still a great thing to hold on.
about the week being halfway.. that's what it is called when it is wednesday (when considering workdays monday till friday).. it is indeed tuesday on wednesday night in the us but they dont work at night either atm

I think Igor only downloads the data from VJ but does not update the previous entered data, or at least not in the approved list.. that data is in his database and will only be removed manually I think (or when theres 20 others who have been approved). Lucky that doesnt interfere with the data on VJ tho (meaning the immigration timelines, timelines and such coz that person has changed her data after the topic)

actually I am wondering how CSC works more than igors list because if you look there are bunch of peoble from october still waiting NOA2 as well as december and I saw yesterday aproval from january that is really flustrating I am happy one is aproved but it is not very pleased one is have been waiting long time so I do not know what to say anymore about CSC but one thing makes me feel positive last year this time they did realy good actually ..

QUOTE(JeroenAndMichelle @ Apr 23 2008, 12:52 PM)

I don't think that theory works like that.. not everyone updates their timelines right away, some dont check their mail or the uscis website right away, resulting in a not exactly correct figures in the list... nevertheless is the list still a great thing to hold on.
about the week being halfway.. that's what it is called when it is wednesday (when considering workdays monday till friday).. it is indeed tuesday on wednesday night in the us but they dont work at night either atm

Well, that theory was only for people who check the uscis website 20 times a day of course! usually by the end of a week, there is for example 15 approvals and if you check two weeks later it's 20. The theory was only for the 15 who checked everyday

but I know that doesn't work well either.

The couple that was approved yesterday was on expedite. It does not mean they are going to leave oct/nov/dec petitions in one room and start with January, don't worry. You'll get your approval someday.

Apr 23 2008, 07:05 AM
well I am not sure about it because if you research you would see alot december filers aproved last month and still november and october filers waiting on NOA2
Cecile and Bryan
Apr 23 2008, 07:10 AM
They still continued working on October and November petitions even if they started working December ones. And as long as we are in the CSC processing times (2008/10/08), we can't complain anyway. Even though it is going to take some time, we will all get our approval!
serdar
Apr 23 2008, 08:03 AM
that processing time just crazy they just do not know what they do ..VSC same processing time there but february filers also got their NOA2 so they just post that freaking processing time just because in case if they do not wanna process anything they can simply say that your case is still in our prcessing time
Cecile and Bryan
Apr 23 2008, 08:13 AM
Maybe that's true, maybe the processing time is only a random number. But anyway, even though it is frustrating at times, it's best to try not to focus on it too much. Of course we would all like to know what they are doing, we would all like them to work faster, to make K1 petitions be their priority, we would all like to be with our loved ones and family. I was pretty frustrated about all this the past weekend. But becoming mad at them isn't going to change anything. In the end, that is still the same, it doesn't matter if they know what they do or not, it doesn't matter who they start with, we will always have to wait.
Tell me, other than checking the USCIS website and VJ and Igor's list, what else do you do to make time go a little faster? What are your hobbies?

Apr 23 2008, 08:29 AM
Here is an idea of what you can do when they are not online: go outside and take as many pictures you can, or write as many details as you can about your country, that way when you see them again or when your children are older you can tell them lots of things about where they come from. Even if you will probably go back to Turkey once in a while, I'm sure they will like when you talk about your country.

Being mad and angry against CSC or the situation just make it more difficult for us, and won't change anything.
I know it is not easy, I had a really hard time when i wasn't working yet, but i am trying to do things i can only enjoy in France.
I also try to be as much as I can with my family! I mean i will be leaving the country and won't see them as often as before, so I try to spend time with them, while I still can!
Of course, having kids is another story, but you need to stay positive, to keep yourself busy with anything you like to do, and soon you will be with them!

Hellow fellow January filers at the CSC. There are a lot of you out there, but I don't see many of you posting in the regular January filers thread. I don't begrudge the wonderful speed at which the VSC filers are being approved - Congratulations to all of them - but it points out how different the experience is for CSC filers vs. VSC filers. While the January thread is full of great news about approvals and touches, etc. we CSCers have our own issues to deal with. For myself, I know it is difficult to empathize with a January filer who voicing impatience with a process that is so much shorter than the one I am facing - it may not be "fair" that our processing times are so different, but its also not fair to rain on their parade or dismiss the concerns of the VSC filers. There is also the relevancy - when the CSC side is talking about approvals the VSC group will be talking about interviews or weddings.
So how are you doing? Are you frustrated, concerned, or excited? Knowing the wait that sits in front of you, how will you use the next 5 months. If you think this is a valuable thread then please add to it. Regardless of CSC or VSC, I hope we can all support each other on this amazing journey.
Like I said there are a lot of January CSC filers, I have listed them below (based on I-129f sending date).

I've done this a lot when my SO was in my country.. most of the pictures I also upload to Panoramio (the Google Earth picture website, so they also get into Google Earth) but I haven't thought about doing this lately.
Last weekend was really nice with the weather and stuff over here, the last few days as well (of course today it is raining lol) and hopefully it will be a bit sunny again next weekend.. if so, then I will take your advice and go out during the day to shoot some pictures

Thx for the advice ^^

Let's hope that you are being guided by the soft hand of good fortune there.
Mox explained it very well that of the two dates to use (mailed or NOA1 Date) the most consistent is the mailing date - for some reason or other NOA1 dates are entered incorrectly many times. Regardless, the way that I grouped the Jan CSC filers was by who had mailed their petition off (the last time we really had any voice in the process) to the CSC not when the NOA1 was issued. HOWEVER, since we know that the postal service was not working on December 31 (as if!!) then you probably are officially January filers - who have a 12/31 mailing date. How's that for logic. Anyway. You're on the list - but I'm putting you in at a 01-01 filing date for consistencies sake.
Anyway, you guys are great and I feel our January group benefits from your being counted amongst us.
