I understand your feelings exactly - I've got so much to do on the wedding planning, house fixing, flight arranging, and work sides that I'm a bit looney at this point. I leave for Kiev in 2 days and the interview is next Wednesday after Tuesday's medical exam. I just want all this to be over, no more planning, no more painting, or waiting, or any of that. I've been waiting for too long already and I want it done. On top of it all I pulled a calf muscle in last night's softball game so my Kiev excursion will include a lot of limping. Oh well, thank goodness Olga's a doctor - I'll be her first american patient.

Well Gareth called the London Embassy today since our stuff supposedly got mailed to them on the 19th and still nothing. We got the 2 to 3 week period and well next week hits 3 weeks. He asked if him having medical already now would mess anything up and they assured him that no it wouldn't. We are just hoping now that he put the bug in their ear about having medical already and that they should have file by now that they will speed up a bit........I know wishful thinking aye?

Our hopes for a September interview is slipping away more and more each passing day...SIGH.

Well tomorrow is my flight to Kiev to be with Olga for the interview. I can't believe that this day has finally arrived I went back and read the openning pages of this thread and now it seems like such a long time ago, hell, it was a long time ago! But here I am taking the last couple steps in this long journey. My flight doesn't finally get into Kiev until 1:30 in the am Monday, at which time I will sit and wait at the train station until 6:30 when Olga arrives.

Although my leg is much improved today, I'm sure I can summon up a limp that will require immediate medical attention. Iwill write from Kiev to let you all know how it went. Your good wishes are greatly appreciated.

Well, for me, my wedding is in 2 days, and my sister and brother in law are coming in 3 hours!!!!!

So, I went to get my SSN today. The woman there seemed to know what she was doing for the most part, except that she wasn't sure how the immigration would accept a request with my new name (since I got married). Anyway, the problem we had was not about that. Apparently, they ###### up my I-94 at the airport. When the woman at the social security office entered my I94 number, she got an entire different name (a brazilian person actually). They are probably going to have to search for me in the files manually, or something like that. It is just crazy. I can't believe it's happening. And she couldn't try to find me by the alien number because her software doesn't allow her to do that if I don't have the I-551, which would be permanent residency if I remember correctly. Just... crazy... I hope it won't take too long...

@cecile: Darn.. thats really screwed up news I hope it will go fast, quick and painless for you. I really hope it wont happen to me when I fly in a couple of weeks.

yeah really I was expecting problems at the SSA, but not THAT kind of problem ^^ what bothers me the most about it is that I can't do anything about it.

I know what you mean, its frustrating as hell with something important such as that and to know not to be able to do something about it

Sorry to hear about your hang ups Cecile. We were also expecting difficulties (being the K1 and all) but we were fortunate to slide through easily enough. I hope your mix up gets resolved soon and you can be on your way! Congrats on the wedding, I dont think I have said that yet.

When I went to the SSN the girl told me the same thing as you though.that i shouldn't change my name now. I should have my maiden name for AOS...what do you think?we should wait until we send AOS and got a NOA?

Did anyone start to work on the AOS yet? if yes, what are your suggestions on what to do for the I-693A? I don't have the vaccination forms... should I ask the doctor that performed the medical exam for a copy? And would I still need to go to a civil surgeon here in the US to have it signed?

Happy Monday all! It is a new week that also marks 3 weeks since our file was sent from NVC to London and still NADA arghhhhhhhhhh trying not to get too frustrated!

We pray each new week brings us packet 3! We are so so SO over all this waiting! Of course then we still have to wait for interview to be scheduled! ACK. Will be so relieved when he is here holding me in his arms let me tell you! Cannot wait to have this all behind us.

From what I read here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...st&p=297233 you can get it with your married name. AOS and social security are two different things, and while SS can depend on AOS, I doubt that AOS needs info from the SSA. So I'd say that you can change your name now.

No news on my problem so far (butt I wasn't expecting anything fast anyway). it's probably going to take a month before I get news anyway (I'll call them in 3 weeks, and then I'll call them at least once a week). What I wonder now is if I should wait until I send my AOS. I asked it here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=149189 and got two different answers. and they both make sense What do you guys think?

Nope, no interview date scheduled yet! I spoke to a very nice lady that said I was welcome to call back at any time to check though (which I'll probably be doing daily now!! )

Olga's visa was approved and everything went smoothly (once we arrived) The previous posts about what to expect were very helpful (thank you Gary and Alla). They did not have even one question for us. Olga's paperwork was flawless thanks to this website and the people who contribute to it. In a little over two weeks Olga and my soon to be stepson will meet me at the airport in Kiev for the journey over. Finally!!!!!

Thank you to everyone for your support, we never would have made it through this process without your support.

Now to celebrate, Ukrainian style.....

Nope no packet 3 yet!!! They said they sent it so now we been waiting for it to actually pop through letterbox! If it is not there today I am calling DOS again to find out when it was actually posted....I thought they told me it was sent on Sept 3rd but now wondering if they had not just prepared it that day and have yet to post it!?! Oh the waiting ughhhhhhhhh

No interview date yet Sunny (yes, I did call them again yesterday! ) and for the first time since the whole NOA2 debacle, I'm getting a wee bit twitchy.

APPROVED!!! The wait is finally over! They said that we can go pick the visa up this afternoon at 12:30. We thought it would be 2:00, but the earlier...the better!! Plan is to pick it up and head on into to Seattle today! Can't wait to get back "HOME". Wedding is in 3 weeks!!

Well packet 3 finally showed it's pretty little self to Gareth and he sent back reply today under the 24 hour signed for delivery because we could not stand the thought of not being able to track it LOL....so it should be to them tomorrow........Now to wait for interview date to be set!!!!! Man oh man so ready to be done with this waiting!!!
