And yes, Rachel, I think this would be fine. It turned out, the worst thing that could have happened for us, was my father would have to fax a copy of his passport to the embassy. That tells me a faxed/scanned/printed copy would be fine in your case as well.

I got my NOA2 email notice! I was at work & was about to leave for the night...then I saw that I had a text message & thought "oh i wish people would stop texting me." & saw the word "CRIS" followed by a bunch of words....I was literally jumping for joy & my co-worker thought i was crazy...hey I was living up to the rumors.


WEEEEE! One step closer to my honey bunny being here.


Was kinda paranoid because we hadn't sent any "letter of intent" documents since I forgot about them. I guess the evidence in the envelope was enough to let us get on to stage 2! :D:D:D:D:D

I just looked at who is still waiting on Igor's list, it's crazy to see that there are still around 30 December/January filers waiting. And a few ones who filed before December. I'm still crossing fingers for everyone waiting, Sunnybear, shes, estadia too, and everyone else.

Well, at least, seeing so many names on the waiting list makes me think that you are not the only one, that your case is not like poor Sara's case. I still think that you will get your approval sooner than they told you you would.

The affidavit of support arrived! Alex posted it Sunday, it arrives here Friday...I've always been very impressed by the post between San Jose and Sheffield! Never been a parcel lost (although Alex sent one by sea accidentally and it took a couple of months to arrive) and usually here in under a week. The record was just two days.

Heh...a lady in the UK forum had her interview earlier this month and was approved but only pending further checks. They decided it wasn't worth the hassle and sorted out her husband getting a UK visa instead.

...two weeks later and he already has his UK visa!

And that's the moment when we all shake our heads and wonder why the immigration for the USA isn't that fast...

Boohbah - I used to be a lurker. I tend to lurk on sites for months and months before I finally pluck up the courage to post!

Hm, I am considering booking my medical next month. At this point I'd rather get things over with and apparently the embassy can delay giving you an interview date if they see that you haven't had your medical yet. I did want to do both (medical and interview) in one trip as my finances will be very tight next month, but at this rate my interview date won't be until August anyway.

It is strange to see how the different embassies work. Here they don't expect you to have your medical before you get packet4. And how do they know if you have set an appointment for the medical?

I had lunch with my coworkers today, and we drank margaritas to celebrate my boss's promotion, which was nice, but now it's hard to find the right way to say things in English

my fiance lost his job today (i think he opened his big mouth!) & im just going to make sure he gets his medical done as soon as it comes up. he can make the extra trips...even if the train ride is 4 hours.

When you send back Packet 3 there's a place to write down the date of your medical. I left it blank. I suppose they also find out when your medical is when the results are sent through to them!


Oh no! I suppose it's fortunate that he's only the beneficiary, then. But what a shame! I hope nothing to do with the visa process got him into trouble.

I think he told them about the approval. His company hasn't had many job assignments lately & had to let someone go, they had been making a decision for a while..which they probably jumped off their chairs when he told them! I guess that makes sense, since he won't be there for much longer anyway. Still sad though. They're going to continue paying him until next month & then cut him off. AAArrrgh that i means i have to help pay for the medical & other little things along the way! booooooo. oh well!

i'm pretty sure he was thinking that. lol. he had to travel to & from work (3hrs total) everyday...so i am sure he is relieved.

3 hours of travel everyday? I hope I'll never have to do that.
And about having free time, he should spend it talking with you more often, and also try to see all the people / places that he won't see anymore in a few weeks/months. Though the bad thing is that it usually costs money to go to all these places...

I was wondering what could have caused this tremendous slowdown in approvals over the last few weeks and then I figured out that it must be because I have not posted the list of approvals in a bit. I think that perhaps the CSC is so lost they were relying on the list to figure out who to approve or not. So to give them some direction here it is. Let's hope someone over there pays attention and gets on the ball. Someone, that's not already on vacation that is.

It really is time to wrap January up so we can all move on to better things.....

yeah that's true! I guess that does make more time for us to talk. Before, we could only talk for a half hour a day because i would be going to work & he would just be coming home from it. hopefully he'll get skype so i dont have to pay for the calls anymore!

His friends aren't too reliable on plans (always backing out at last minute), so I hope they realize that he's not there for much longer & need to spend time with him.

P.S. yeah i felt bad for him that he had to travel that long for a £7/hr job. I already told him he's not allowed to get a job like that ever again unless it pays good $! even so, i just hate the thought of traveling to work...it's already a pain to drive 20 minutes to my job. :/

I've been wondering how best to keep in touch once we've all received our visas. I suppose we can create January threads elsewhere but I know that some people dislike the 'month' threads and they don't really seem to be done in the other forums.

I have so much webspace that I'm wondering if there's a type of site I could create, where people could post updates/wedding photos/the like.

That would be nice! I love seeing & sharing pictures.

Actually I was thinking that maybe we could just keep posting in that thread. Even though we won't be in the K1 process anymore, this is our thread and I doubt the people of January next year would use it.

Except that one person who would reply to it, like the ones that scoop out the dead old topics!

I was thinking the same thing a while ago which is why I said we could ask the admins to move this thread to a different location so we can continue posting (for example the aos forums).

We don't necessarily have to move it somewhere else, and in the AOS forum if there were threads by months, I would expect them to be in relation to when we file AOS, not when we filed for K1. Or maybe move it to the "Moving here and your new life in the USA" forum.
Going to another website could be another option, but then that means one other website to check everyday!

But then, when would we move it? when the first couples get married, or when everyone is in the USA or when everyone has NOA2 for their K1?
