I wanna share the happy news that my interview date has been set, its going to be on 26th June
(This Thursday) at the consulate in Singapore. I had earlier returned my DS2001 in person (lol! thy let me into the embassy). The very next day they sent me the interview letter.

That better be good as it is my birthday biggrin.gif

Also, I read a few answers on your questions but I think the answers should be the following:

QUOTE(RagSwat @ Jun 23 2008, 08:11 AM) *
1. Will they give back my original records? like birth certificate, vaccination record, medical examination
4. I read that for AOS I can use the same medical record and vaccination record. So is there any specific thing I must do to get those copies?

1. You will get them back in the brown envelop that will be send to you. The envelop is sealed and should not be opened but should be surrendered at the POE. If you want to be sure, then also add a copy of each original so they can give you the original back if needed (they will not make copies for you).
4. The answers are basically provided on this page: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos

See the following lines:

- A copy of the intending immigrant's birth certificate along with English translation. (note: it says a copy so it doesn't have to be the original, besides, you should never send originals to USCIS - Jeroen).
- I693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (If you already have this from your overseas Visa Interview submit a copy that medical check form; No fee is required in this case. If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.)

Your spouse may also be required to have a medical sometime during the AOS process. The medical must be done by a CIS Designated Civil Surgeon. Your CIS office should give you a list of CIS accredited doctors in your area, if not check with your local office to get one. The medical exam can cost anywhere from $100-200 dollars, many physicians will not take a check, but only accept cash. Be prepared of the cost before your spouse gets this done. It would be wise to collect their vaccination information before going to the appointment as the doctor will need to have record of them. At the appointment your spouse will be tested for TB, AIDS and Syphilis. If they do the skin test for TB, they will be required to return to the CIS doctors office to have the site checked before they finish the exam paperwork. Note: Some CIS Offices allow you to schedule your appointment when you want, as long as it is done before the AOS appointment, check with your CIS office to see how they handle CIS medical exams before filing your AOS paperwork.

Hope this helped a bit smile.gif

Hi everyone!

I was away for few days. Thank you all for your congratulations! happy.gif
When I came back from my "get away week end" I had another great surprise: packet 3!!!
The problem is I don't know if I will send it ever, 'cos it's been weeks that I'm trying to get my police clearance from China, but it's just impossible! mad.gif
I have another problem, but this one easier I think. On packet 3 I need to write down Damon's current address and the address I will be staying at. But he's going to move on the 21st of July. What should I write?

-Congrats to all who got their NOA2s & interviews!!!!!!

-Shes, it's great that you've been touched!good thing!!

Guess what! I got my NOA2! Wooh. I didn't think I'd get this excited... I was looking at Igor's list last night and thinking how sad it was that some of the other January folk hadn't been to VJ for a few months, so who knew if they had been approved or not and it wasn't helping the rest of us who were waiting! Now I really hope the rest of the January peeps get theirs too!!!!!!!!!!! So even if you're a naturalized citizen and your fiance/e has a common name, there is hope!!!

Congratulations! kicking.gif

I would write his current address in the "current address" spot if you send packet 3 back before the 21st of July.
And for the address you will stay at, I would put the future address, and add a cover letter explaining that he will move the 21st and that the address you will be staying at is the new one.
I almost had a similar problem: Bryan was going to move the 15th of June, but I got packet 3 the 12th, so I wrote his new address everywhere (and explained in the cover letter why it was different than the address on the I-129F) You can read this too: petitioner moving

I'm here Cecile, finally. I feel like I've been gone a lifetime (well almost). And I've missed my daily chats with my friends here. Yes, I told Olga last week and she started yelling and crying, and so, I started yelling and crying all over again. Now it's down to the details.....

The Ukraine has a special way of setting interviews, you have to buy a PIN from a bank, and use that number when contacting the embassy - only then will they set an interview date. She was going to try to call today over her lunch break, and I haven't heard yet if she was able to do so. All the paperwork is together so we can do it tomorrow if we need to. OK that's a bit of a stretch, because I'm planning on being there and it's crazy expensive to fly right now. Throw on top of it all the fact that I've just started a new job and the "up to 10 day wait" to receive the visa after the interview, and I'm in the middle of a scheduling nightmare. I'm trying to coordinate everything so as to accomplish my goal of being at the interview, and flying back with Olga and her son without getting too much heat.

So....

My plan is to fly to Kiev and meet Olga the day before the medical, go to the interview, pack them on a train back home, then fly to London and spend 4 days working at the global headquarters, then fly back to Kiev and down to Zaporozhje for a couple days to wait for the visa, then flying back to the US with Olga and her son. Yikes - way too complicated at this point. So, once Olga gives me a date it's off to credit card heaven.

To throw more complication into the equation, I'm taking care of my mom who had a stroke two years ago, before she moves on to live with my sister in Iowa. She lived with me for a year between her stroke and when she left to be with my other sister in DC for a year. Then, of course, there's trying to get the house all together for her arrival, long hours at the job and you've got a pretty frazzled Blake at this point. Oh yes.... did I forget wedding planning?

That's why I've been gone for the last few days, but I figure lunchtime is a great time to reconnect.

Shes - I hope that touch really means something special. Sunny, Congrats on the new job as well, you know my thoughts are with you. Cecile & Rachel I'm so happy to see things moving along. Aliona, I still love the pic, Pam, Jerone, and Courtney, I'm happy to see you all moving faster - and to everyone that is trying to accomplish the logistical magic of getting your loved ones over the oceans and by your side.... keep breathing (this is what i tell myself).

Thanks, I've really missed you guys. Crazy it is, but I'm hoping to get things in control once we get the date. Booking tickets, arranging for apartments, getting the house finished (to the extent I'm able) getting my mom over to my sister's, all that starts with a date. Then I'll be moving things off the list of "to do's." How are you doing? I hope things are moving along nicely for you two.

Things are going well smile.gif Levi finally received packet 3 so that was a relief.... Now just gathering what we need. He'll be here this weekend so we can work on everything together. Won't it be nice when everything is finished and we can just sit back and relax and enjoy being together?!

Welcome back Blake! smile.gif
Yes it will definitely be better once you have the date for the interview, then you will really be able to set everything properly.
Pam&Josh
It is good to hear from you Blake, and to know Olga finally knows the good news!! smile.gif
It seems you're going to fly a lot, and that you will be really busy!!!!!! but it is going to be sooooo worth it when you will fly back with your sweetheart! biggrin.gif
Good luck on the next few steps towards the visa! wink.gif

laughing.gif

This is such an emotional process - both for good and bad. At the beginning of this journey I remember every time I'd read about people flying over and being welcomed to this country I'd get very emotional, still do. Not quite sure how I'll react when the customs agent hands Olga back her passport and says "Welcome to the US" - gett'n misty just thinking about it.

Cecile, I think you're right - as soon as I have some concrete actions to take things will start to get into line for me. I sure hope so.

Pam, thankfully I enjoy flying. Every time I'd fly back from seeing Olga I would tell myself that one day I would be sitting in an airport lounge with her, and that she would be seeing everything I was seeing. That's what got me through the journey's home without too much saddness. For those of us that just cant see our SO's for long stretches of time these trips can be very daunting. Oh, hell, it's difficult for all of us. headbonk.gif

I wanted to have my interview soon and then my visa soon but once i had it in my hand, the fact that i will be leaving my hometown, my country, my family and my friends became more real and it's giving me a bitter sweet anticipation. Sure I want to be with Ricky sooo bad but a part of me is also sad since i will be leaving my family and everything else behind. i want to pull the hours so I could be with Ricky sooner BUT I also want to stretch it longer so I could have more time with friends and family and also enjoy the stuffs that won't be available in N.C. I know this feeling dbears, even though I don't have my visa yet.
When I opened packet 4 and read my interview date, everything started to seem very close. In a month I'll have the interview, and in a month and a half I may be in the USA! I want it to be as soon as possible, but I am very thankful that they didn't put my interview earlier, because that way I am still going to have some time to spend with my family and friends. July is going to be the "goodbye" month... Kinda scary!

I am posting a full report, so check out my profile if you want to read the details. We were at the embassy for 3 hours and it was SO nerve wracking. The Consular was very nice and we had only one hiccup. (Well, besides from our taxi rear ending the truck in front of us on the way to the embassy, leaving us stranded in the middle of the highway searching for another taxi to take us the rest of the way). My dad was our co-sponsor so I had my packet of info with the I-134, and one for him as well. I had everything for him and me and well, except proof that he was a US Citizen. It makes sense that they would need it, but no where in the forms does it say to include that. They wanted a copy of his passport or something proving his citizenship. I had a copy of my birth certificate with his full name on it, but that wasn't good enough. The lady who checked us in said it would be up to the consular to determine how much a delay we would have because of this. When we got called up for the actual interview, he asked me some questions about my father and his family. He was looking him up in some database apparently. He didn't seem to find what he needed, but he said he believed me and would go ahead and approve our visa today. YAY!!!

But yeah, a note for everyone who is using a co-sponsor, include a copy of their passport!!!!

Other than that, everything went well. The waiting was horrible but hey, it's not like any of us are new to waiting. Greivin and I have been loving every minute of being together again, and took full advantage of getting happy at Happy Hour last night. Our NOA2 was less than a month ago, so it's been an absolute whirlwind of emotions, stress, paperwork, airplanes, everything. But hey, I'm preaching to the choir here, no need to explain to you guys.

Anyway, just wanted to report the good news. Thank you again for all your kind words. It was so nice reading through these last couple pages and seeing all those posts to wish us luck. It means so much, thank you again! Congrats to Ragswat as well!!! I can honestly say, I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! smile.gif

Now all energy can go to sunny and those still waiting for NOA2's, Packet 3's, Medicals, and Interviews!

Also THANK you for that tip. I don't believe Alex has sent any evidence of his dad's US citizenship. Do you think it'd be alright if he scanned in his dad's passport and sent that to me via e-mail?

I just got the question if it would also be ok if my cosponsor would send a copy of the state ID instead.. I don't know what it says on those but I think a birth certificate should be ok as they're also ok for the initial i129f to file smile.gif
