I'm fine thank you!

Sadly not - still, hopefully CSC will surprise us all on Friday as it has done the past couple of weeks.

I hope you receive packet 3 promptly!

Thank you! Yes I want to see everyone here get their approvals soon! I couldn't believe how fast they processed our papers at the NVC smile.gif I think I understand what is included in packet 3 but do you have any idea about packet 4?
Alex & Rachel
Good morning Blake!

Have you managed to inform Olga of your approval, by the way?

Packet 4 is simply the letter telling you your interview date, iirc. smile.gif

thanks for your encouragement, it means so much to me but how they seem to process K1 filers is really frustrating.

if there will be a rating on how they work..il give them D- , yeah! thats special for them.

no wonder why they dont ask for comments and suggestions, count the ratings as well..

they should make an exact time frame how long an application should be examined ( if they are really professionals)

Good morning Blake!

Have you managed to inform Olga of your approval, by the way?

laughing.gif No! And it's driving me crazy! She is scheduled to make the trek into town tomorrow, however, and hopefully she'll be able to get to an internet cafe. For her to get from her Aunt's farm to a town is a good 2 hour walk minimum on some pretty nasty country roads- and towing a 6 year old behind her is difficult as you can imagine. This is the last family gathering before she comes over - she has a cousin and a bunch of nephews coming in from Siberia of all places - so I can't get tooooooo upset about the time away. But... I do have my moments of frustration. whistling.gif

By the time she's back home the application will already be at the embassy (I hope) and it'll be time to call and make the interview appointment. I hope she's got all her paperwork together and we can move very quickly. In the Ukraine you don't have to wait to receive a packet from the embassy, you can just call on a special line (with a special pin number from a special calling card purchased at a special bank) to set up your appointment (special, isn't it). Mariapoe called in and received an interview date one week later (this was a couple months ago) so it's a little erratic on how long you have to wait.

I'm lucky that the new job is keeping me so busy right now, or else I'd be a real head case.

Hi Everybody!!
Like Cécile, I received my packet 3 today!! kicking.gif kicking.gif
Things are going faster now, and I start to worry about selling some of my stuff, and I am happy about getting closer and closer from the day I will be with my sweet baby!! biggrin.gif
Like everyone here, I am still having good hopes that sunnybear or shes will get their NOA2 really really soon!!! It always sucks when some of the thread are left behind! Try to keep your good energy girls!!! We cannot wait to see you doing the happy dance! heart.gif
sunnybear

Do you have a lawyer representing you? What has he/she said about this? Have you looked at the Immigration timeline and the number of days it is supposed to take in order for your paperwork to be processed? Did you call the hotline phone number??

Awww don't feel bad at all! We are still in normal processing times as of USCIS it is just frustrating! I also got divorced and it was finalized only a couple weeks before I filed for fiance' visa so I am sure they look into that too etc....

Nope no lawyer just myself. I called Tuesday though and got a nice lady who was going to check into it all for me supposedly.....she gave me a reference number as well. I am still in normal range of processing so nothing that can be done so far....gotta love that they post on USCIS they are only up to processing November 2007 applications when we all here know they are well farther than that!!!

Any word from Olga yet Blake?

I understand how it feels to not be able to share the good news for awhile. IT DRIVES YOU CRAZY!!! I was always comforted in knowing that at least the process is still moving forward, and like you said, by the time she returns home, the papers will probably be at the embassy already!

Well good news and bad news...I got message from CRIS....so good news is our case is being worked on..BAD news is they are saying we are held up in security checks sad.gif Ok neither of us have any record of any kind! The only thing we could think would be holding us up is the fact I was married to a military guy so I lived in Michigan,Utah, Okinawa Japan, and England over the past 10 years. That and the fact Gareth got turned away at customs in December (because they thought he was going to try and come and stay on a 6 month visa instead of going back at the end of it).

Soooo what do you all think? We are pretty dang down about all this as it says it could be another 180 days and also Gareth read an attachment (I cannot read it until I get home from work) saying something how people can be stuck for years in this!!!! UMMMMM WTF?!?!?!?

Anyone have positive words of wisdom for me? PLEASE

First of All.....Keep Breathing.

Now that we have the essential part taken care of, I've seen instances where security checks have taken a few weeks to months. The good news is that he is from England and does not originate from a country with a lot of conflict or anti-american activity so I don't think that this should take very long. Probably what's driving this is that he was turned away at customs in December. I'm so sorry Sunnybear, I know how much you miss Gareth and want him by your side. It's a lot to ask, but try to be a patient as you can, have a strongbow from time to time, and keep smiling. My prayers are with you.

You are right, this is a scary process at times - but we all would never have made it this far without a tremendous amount of faith in the one's we love (and they in us as well). At this point everything is out of your hands so don't worry about what you can't control, and just worry about whether the lighting for your video tape is appropriately flatering... devil.gif

It's all going to be OK, keep the faith. good.gif

Just a little update; My fiance just called the NVC and seems she had a much nicer person on the phone this time.. they told her that they received the petition yesterday and should be mailed out sometime next week, she'll call back to see if they already send it on wednesday or something probably.. I am happy she had a nicer person this time, she was almost too afraid to call again lol

Hang in there sunny! it won't take years, they probably write the same sentence for everyone in security check. it may be delayed by a few weeks, but they will go through at some point. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

I am so so sorry sunny! I know how frustrating it must be!! sad.gif
Like Gareth told you, I would try to focus on something different.
When I was feeling down some months ago, I tried to be as busy as I could, to go out,to go see some friends. My fiancé was also used to tell me to do not focus on something you don't have any controls on.
Easy for me to say, but it is what I did, and it did work well for me.
I don't believe in God, but I have you in my thoughts as well... wish you the best of luck into that process! star_smile.gif

Cool. Drink your 6 pack, then get out and away from the computer. Focus on an activity away from the relationship so that you don't think about this setback too much. What helps me is that I am active in my 4WD club both in the San Diego area as well as in Tijuana, Mexico. Tomorrow is a big event, and I'm producing the event video. This is helping speed things up. Since I can't speak to Onelis at the moment (because her barrio's phone system doesn't work), I am out, not stressing over her cities poor infrastructure - stuff I cannot do anything about.

Go out and rent a DVD or buy a CD, hang out with your friends, but also feel free to vent when you need to...

Nope no date change yet! Which is why I am wondering if it is a generic response! My date still says Jan 26th or something like that.....

Hi guys,

I have a prob with my birth cert. it has my mother's name spelled wrong. I guess this is because they phonetically translated the name in english from the native languade. instead of "vaidehi" the name is "vaitheki". Will the consular officier pick on this? to be safe I had asked my mom to send me a notarised affidavit claiming both names refer to the same person.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Raghu
Alex & Rachel
Raghu - I wouldn't worry too much, you sound well prepared. I'm sure I've read topics with the same question as yours before and from what I remember it's more important that your name is spelled correctly, and that they probably won't even glance at your mother's. I'd think the notarised document would be all you need. Good luck!

Blake - wow, I am sorry to hear you haven't been able to share your good news with Olga yet! It must be immensely frustrating. I hope that, as you say, she will be able to have an interview very soon after receiving the news, though! Makes me realise just how much I take having the internet at home/work for granted.

sunny - so sorry to hear your news. sad.gif Hopefully the security check won't last more than a couple of weeks, and I too doubt it is anything to do with Gareth's failed entry into the US. Hopefully it's something as simple as just doing a little extra research into all the places you lived, and that it'll be over soon.
sunnybear
Thanks Rachel...well someone on another thread said they also may have sent me that as an excuse instead of saying "oops we forgot about your case" and I REALLY hope that is the case! Anyway logged into USCIS and there was a touch yesterday finally after not being touched since January! So that feels good at least to know it is back on the radar with them!

I agree that it's good to know you're on the radar screen with the CSC - although one hopes they're not armed to shoot you down....

Anyway, I'm sure that this is a couple week setback at most - I prefer the "oops" charachterization. I think that your delay in approval and my not being able to tell Olga that we're approved is somehow tied up in the same parallel universe. Could be....... tongue.gif Have a great weekend!

Has anyone seen a NOA2 take longer because of children? I am so flustered about that. We have a kid together, he's not on the birth certificate though. Since he couldn't be physically present at the time. She's with me though, so should I not wonder anymore about that subject? whistling.gif

cus even i, applied before..tourist (denied, they said i dont have enough ties..i havent met my fiance yet on that time) and a student visa last may 2007 (when i qualified for a scholarship program by a university THAT IS NOT LOCATED IN CALIFORNIA) i never pursued the scholarship though, its a very long story and the fact that fiance and some of my relatives arent into it. so eventhough the university already sent me the forms and letter that states a request to the u.s. consul of the issuance of a student visa for me and the fact that i already paid "sevis fee" to the department of homeland and security - uscis. (it has something to do with security)...i just stopped doing anything about it and never called for an interview at the us embassy.

so what about it?

Hi SHES and also everyone else! I am sooo happy we got a touch on the 13th (because of the security thing) but also on the 14th as I stated above. It prob don't mean much but to me just happy to be on their radar!

As for what phone number I called I just called the regular one posted on their site and then pushed the numbers saying I had a question on documents! Somehow that led me to a real person! I am sorry I have no idea what code of numbers I pushed to get there but I know it was about questions on documents (not the RFE one either).

Hope everyone has a great Sunday and this week brings more approvals!!!

So tempted to call CSC, must...wait...be...patient...blink.gif

Has anyone seen a NOA2 take longer because of children? I am so flustered about that. We have a kid together, he's not on the birth certificate though. Since he couldn't be physically present at the time. She's with me though, so should I not wonder anymore about that subject? whistling.gif

Actually No, I really haven't seen any correlation between the length of processing time and the existence of children. Your child is a US citizen and should have her own passport already. Did you register witht he American embassy when she was born to notify them that she is the daughter of a USC?
