At first they will ask you for your NVC number, since you don't have that yet, just tell them you have a CSC processing number. They'll need the petitioner's name and birthday and the beneficiary's as well. Then, if they have received your papers, they'll give you the NVC number. The lady I talked to was super nice and said they have received my papers that morning (Mon, June 2) and she expected they would be done by Friday. I called back Wednesday and got another really nice lady, and she said everything had gone through and was in the mail to Costa Rica that morning (Wed, Jun 4).

is the csc processing number the RECEIPT NUMBER we use to log in to our uscis account?

Yes! And about three and a half weeks from NVC receiving my petition.

It was exciting to see the envelope stamped with 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' and 'Official Business' underneath. biggrin.gif Until now I'd not seen any of the letters (NoA2, NVC letter) or e-mails that have been sent by USCIS and getting the information second-hand from Alex just isn't quite the same!

Opening the packet was less exciting. Geez, they could at least print on good-quality paper and refrain from using Comic Sans (! It was used for 'where to have American-size passport photos taken), don't you think?

Shhhhh..... Good quality paper would somehow mean more taxes Lol..... I called the NVC to see if they had our papers but I guess it was a little too soon yet. They said try at the beginning of the week...

From what I've seen so far, I think they only send the petitions out every friday or every other friday to the NVC.. since you had your approval last tuesday, I think you should try again next monday smile.gif

I really hope you will get your NOA2 soon, I think I know what you're going through atm as I had it as well sad.gif And yeah, some people don't update their timeline right away, hard to believe indeed :S

To cover your question.. today my sis will be at my moms place, showing the DVD of the ultrasound of her baby, I will go there too to see it biggrin.gif Then, after dinner and such, the European soccer championship starts woohoo!! So guess it will be mostly soccer for me this weekend lol

Hi Everyone, I know the CSC kinda ended with a fizzle last week but let's keep our fingers and toes crossed for a very active week this week. All those touches had to mean something.
sunnybear
Happy Sunday everyone and also a shameless Happy 30th Birthday to me! hahaha smile.gif dancin5hr.gif

Had a great night last night with friends and have a sore body and throat today from seeing this group called the Mega 80's that do you guessed it all 80's songs haha....we sang our hearts our and danced our bootys off! FUN times! Got home at 3 and was up by 8 oooofff not enough sleep for this old lady.

Off to my grandparents for a birthday steak luncheon/early dinner then bringing Gabby to see Wizard of Oz at the theater at 4 and then friends coming over later after that smile.gif

My man got me a new digital camera I wanted, and then the 2 pints of Lager and packet of crisps season I needed on dvd to get my set up to date and also another UK show I love called Skins on dvd, oh and this little digital keychain with some pics preloaded into it that he did awwwww smile.gif
Alex & Rachel
Happy Birthday sunny! biggrin.gif

Aw, sounds like you are having fun. And a digital camera - what a great present! And not entirely without use for your man. devil.gif

Alex can't get the affidavit of support to me for at least another week. crying.gif However, I can finally send off for the police certificate tomorrow (managed to corner my teacher friend to sign the photos and form for me) and I bought printer paper and photo paper so that I can download and print off the forms and also print out passport-sized photos (since I'm sure I can do a better job than the ones I had done 'professionally' mad.gif )

Rachel, what is your fiance gonna fill for question 10. and 11. on the I134 affidavit of support?

hi all, hope ur continuing to have a good time and CSC is kicking alive. i am very intensely trying to get my documents to submit to the singapore embassy. had my medicals again last week (had wasted one in India). here in singapore vaccination is mandatory it seems so had MMT, TD and Vericella, one more shot of vericilla required but not mandatory for interview. I have to send back a checklist to the embassy before they schedule my interview. I have applied for police certificates at Indian embassy and Singapore police. I am goin to collect Indian Police cert tday from the embassy. Singapore takes 2 weeks sad.gif

had a problem with my birth certificate, I have only copies. I guess the registarar in India only provide copies. I am trying again to get an original.

Anybody got any idea what a certified copy means? In the visa instructions sent t me, the embassy asked for "Certified Copy of your Birth Certificate." I called up the embassy and listened to a lady who exactly said whats on the instruction given to me, but refused to clarify anything.

One more problem is my fiance is working part time and paid hourly basis, though she earns around 30000$ annually, her employers say they can ony quote per hour rate on her employment letter. Though she has her time sheets from the company, we are really confused what to write for annual salary sad.gif. Anyways her dad is co sponsoring and filling out for sme 100K$ annually which should help us out. He runs a consultancy firm, so another question is whether it is enough to show 3 yrs of tax return for him.

hope you guys can give me some suggestions

Thanks
Alex & Rachel

He's going to copy what is on the example form here. smile.gif

Well, no one ever actually has their 'original' birth certificate as this is the birth certificate that is kept by the government. What you are thinking of in terms of 'original' and 'certified copy' mean the same thing - i.e. a copy obtained from the registrar should be automatically a certified copy. A normal copy would just be a photocopy you yourself made of the certified copy. Does that make sense?

Hmm, I would probably work out how much she earns per annum, then write that figure down and perhaps include your working out in brackets? So '$29,120 (35 hours per week at $16 per hour)', for example.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! I had a great one! Dbears too darn funny and yes that was me on Saturday night wink.gif

Happy Monday to all and hopefully a busy filled week of approvals for CSC! Please oh please fingers and toes crossed!!!! I have almost all our stuff ready to send to Gareth for the next step including my sisters papers as well for her being a co-sponser. Will get all sent to Gareth by next Monday so he has it ready to go!

Thinking positive and hope to see our approval SOON.

Today is my baby's last day of kindy awwww! We are gonna go out to lunch and then go see Kung Fu Panda smile.gif Have a great Monday all!
Cecile and Bryan
Happy birthday sunnybear! Sorry, I'm a little late... It sounds like you had fun this weekend!
I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you! I'm pretty sure you're going to have your NOA2 very soon! good.gif
Alex & Rachel
dbears - laughing.gif

sunny - my fingers and toes are most definitely crossed! And you're definitely doing the right thing preparing the affidavit of support now - I only wish I had asked Alex to sort it out earlier. sad.gif

I spent quite a bit of money on printer and photo paper this weekend intending to appropriate my housemate's printer for visa purposes only to discover, after asking her, that her printer hasn't been working properly ever since she got a pen stuck in it. I knew I should've asked her about it before buying the paper! Oh well. I can print out the forms at work but I can't do photos as we have no colour printers here.

Apart from that the nurse at my doctors' surgery is most helpful and I should be getting the HPV vaccine and TDaP/polio next week no problem. kicking.gif

I also get to send off for the police certificate today!

By the way - Alex got a B on the essay I helped write - his highest mark of the course so far. tongue_ss.gif Not bad for 3 hours' rushed work!
KimandRuss
happy belated birthday, Sunny.

Rachel congratulations on your ...errr his B. laughing.gif

RagSwat - more copies of the birth certificate are always a good idea! You never know when you may need them. I've personally got three copies of my birth certificate and I'm going to order three copies of the police certificate, but then I do always like to be extra-safe.

Cecile and Kat - hehe, thanks. At least now I know I can pass an American English class! laughing.gif

I ordered three copies of my birth certificate and of my police record too. As you said Rachel, you never know when you're going to need them.

I'm a historical costuming geek...right now I'm making a Victorian costume for the tea party at my church this weekend. That sounds like alot of fun biggrin.gif Victorian is a great era! Well Levi went paintballing this weekend and got pegged right in the forehead so now he has a huge black and blue lump there laughing.gif I'm like "you pay for that abuse?!" I should post the pictures here.

It's a lot of fun. I'll post pictures once I have it done. smile.gif lol...you should definitely post pictures!

Yeah I'd love to see it! I had thought about sewing some of my twins summer clothes but not sure how much I'd actually get done and they looked at me and rolled their eyes when I mentioned it...Lol

hehehe...my kids are just going to have to get used to it! I do historical recreation in my free time...which means lots of sewing. When I was little my mom made me all of these little pinafores that she smocked with cute little scenes. I told her that she'd have to get back into the habit of doing them for my kids. smile.gif

My mom did my clothes when I was little and some for my kids too but they reach that age and don't appreciate it anymore..... Historical recreation sounds very interesting... How did you get involved in that?

I got involved because I love costuming and I had gotten bored and starting making medieval costumes and I wanted to wear them somewhere...I had a teacher that was involved in the SCA, which is one of the biggest historical recreation societies in the world. Go to the SCA website and it has lots of information...it's an international group and I think this is your local group. If you want to get involved, just email...well, pretty much anyone listed on the website and they'll help you out. Around here there are lots of kids activities going on all the time...so your kids would probably enjoy it, too. smile.gif

...I was the recruitment officer in my area for two years so I got really used to getting all of this information in a matter of minutes for people. smile.gif

blink.gif So much to think about when planning a wedding! Something like that wouldn't even occur to me...

Have you talked to Alex's mother about what you wanted/didn't want for the wedding? how did it go?
Alex & Rachel
Not yet, mostly because at the moment the plans change from one day to the next - it might be better to talk when we both have a more concrete idea of what to do! One week we can't find anywhere and we're going to need to cut down on the number of guests, the next someone has offered us their garden and we can have as many people as we'd like. We still don't even have a firm date, yet, so that's also complicating the planning somewhat. wacko.gif That, and I've been worrying about Packet 3 and vaccinations these past few days.

Aww using the garden and having just a bbq or something would be wonderful! Do they have a nice huge lush garden? I can direct you to loads of ideas when you are ready for them hahaha....it is VERY overwhelming but I found once you pick a theme of sorts it helps!!!

True, you'd better focus on packet 3 and the next steps for immigration.
Doing it in a garden sounds very appealing to me! We thought we'd do it in Bryan's friends' backyard but we're not sure about that anymore. the house is always quite messy and there are so many animals there that we doubt it's going to be clean someday! I'd like an outside wedding.
Though if you get married around Christmas (if that's still what you planned), maybe being inside would be better? even though the winter in California isn't as bad as Wisconsin or Illinois winters, it's probably going to be quite cold, isn't it?
sunnybear
Ok getting a bit bummed and Gareth even more so now that we are seeing February approvals!!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Cecile and Bryan
Sunny, I noticed that someone whose dates are just like yours (I-129F sent 01-17 and NOA1 01-22) was approved last week. You were probably in the same cardboard. That's a very good sign!

I can relate to 'plan changes from one day to the next... wacko.gif

last month Ricky and I already agreed not to have best man, maid of honor and all that fuzz. We agreed that it will be a very intimate wedding with just me and him and our 3 kids plus his mom and sister and family of his sister..... today, he was talking about getting the measurement of his daughter's bf for the barong (a filipino formal wear for men) and he will be sending it to me so i could go ahead and have it done here.. I was like: "wait, i thought we wouldn't be having all those fuss?"

I just want to have an outdoor wedding with a bbq reception and just a licensed Christian minister to perform the ceremony and that's it... now I don't know what he will pop up again next time we talk... I told him we should set the budget and then plan around it and stick with it NOT plan ahead and then have the budget later.

sunny, hope you could share ideas for a wedding by the lake (it is actually a park)... but first, I hope you will get that NOA2 soonest. I'm rooting for you!!!!

rachel, I am with you.. when the medical and interview seems so close, it will be hard to think of other things... especially big things such as wedding.

Sticking to a budget is good! I can fully understand your concerns...fuss isn't me, either! Good luck sorting everything out; I hope it doesn't cause too much stress. smile.gif

sunny - I have NO idea what it is like! But I shall let you know when I do know. wink.gif

Cecile - if it is anything like last December, it will be chilly but bearable outdoors in California if people wear jackets/long sleeves. The temperatures can drop quite sharply after the sun sets, but while the sun is out it is not too cold. It doesn't really rain in December, but later, in January/February, so hopefully it will be sunny. smile.gif And it won't be as brown or desolate as England gets; this is the park near Alex's house last Christmas:

it looks like spring or fall, not winter!
