Who knows! Maybe its home in my mailbox waiting for me right now!!!!!

Ohhh...wouldn't that be wonderful!! Don't start planting that idea in my head, though...once we start seeing February approvals I'll probably go home every day on my lunch break to check my mail! laughing.gif

laughing.gif OMG its a good thing I'm 35-45 minutes from home or I'd probably do it too!

I'm only a ten minute drive, and I have a half hour lunch...it's just long enough to get home, check the mail, and grab something to eat. smile.gif

Uh Oh you've already planned it out laughing.gif

You two are both nuts laughing.gif

But such entertaining nuts! jest.gif
sunnybear
Well nothing in email or my post box today....ho hum......
JeroenAndMichelle
Bleh.. I only find out in the morning if something arrived with snail mail.. it usually arrives between 3 and 4 pm over there which is like between 3 and 4 am over here haha.. oh well, somehow I don't expect anything this week to happen.... I really hope it will but I dont know... one moment I think CSC is working hard again, the other I'm like IDK lol... argh the wait.. its weirding me out lol
Alex & Rachel
The two recent approvals are good news and congratulations to those couples! So glad to see that the latter half of the January filers have been penetrated. (Could that sound any dirtier?)

I have to say that it really, really sucks to have seen so few approvals over the past two weeks. I really hate having my approval when I see all of my friends still waiting for theirs. It sucks all of the enjoyment out of having it. I really hope that CSC can approve a few more people (especially those who post regularly in this thread! wink.gif ) soon.

Well my friends, here is the post I've been waiting so long to publish:

GREIVIN AND I HAVE BEEN ISSUED OUR NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The email came tonight at 7:15pm. I happened to be talking on the phone to my dad, giving him all the latest updates on other January filers, then I stopped mid-sentence when an email from CRIS popped up in my inbox. I said a couple bad words then told him i had received an email but my hand was frozen, I couldnt move the mouse to open it. He got all excited and told me to send it to him and he would open it! I opened it and started screaming/crying/hollering like a mad woman! He started yelling back "Courtney, I can't understand a damn word you're saying, is it good or bad!?!?!?!"

Once I got the words out and calmed down a bit, I told him obviously that it was good and we had been approved. Now, I just gotta track down my costa rican rainforest boy and tell him the wonderful news!

Anyway, I am SO thrilled to share the news with you all. I LOVE this thread and absolutely cannot wait until I see all my friends be right there along side us.

Random question that most people won't read until tomorrow. Once you're married and have applied for the AOS/EAD/AP...are you going to start looking for work right away and just let potential employers know that the EAD is applied for and coming or will you wait until you get it and then start looking?

BIG BIG CONGRATS DJ+Ten.. if Nvc received the approved I-129F May 15, there is a strong possibilty that your papers are already in Manila US embassy. You can call to schedule interview appointment already. Numbers to call are: 1-909-101-7878 if calling within the Philippines... 1-888-877-9888 if calling outside the Philippines. Some wait for the beneficiary to receive notification from embassy, others like me didn't wait at all. (I am highly OC so I tracked down our papers from NVC to USEM and soon as I knew our papers were there we gave it 2 working days then we called for interview appointment). Pls check here for more information:http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html

No kidden? You can do that?
We'll try that.
Thanks,
DJ

Yes sir you can call, you won't have interview appointment sched unless you make the call. it is the new procedure ath the US embassy in the Philippines now.. when to call is another question. For us we called soon as our papers was with embassy in manila and didn't have problem at all. But pls make sure that you only call Monday to Friday, 8AM-6PM Manila time.

Pls check the Philippine forum for US embassy manila specific topics.

Best of luck again. good.gif
Hey Guys! We did it and it worked!
Ten still has not received the embassy packet, but she created the online DS-156 and called the embassy.
They took her MNL# from the NVC receipt, asked if the DS-156 was filled in, and gave her an interview date of Jun 17.
Now we need to scurry around and get our doc's in order!
Whoo-weeee. Things are pickin' up speed now!
Thanks DBEARS for the good advice. star_smile.gif

I could basically have a job as soon as I set foot on US soil but I wont be able to do anything and make any money if I don't have the EAD but oh well, I'll just have to wait until I got the EAD and then start to work. I'm glad that's all fixed already, though smile.gif

Congratulations to you guys who have received the NOA2!!!

We're a late January filler at CSC (NOA1 received 1/24). We keep our fingers crossed.

Also, thanks to BlakeandOlha to have created this thread. It's amazing to see how different people from all over the place are in the same place!!! Best of luck to everyone~ smile.gif

MANY Congrats to Court and Grey and also to Carol and Bruno!!!! YAYYYY so good to see all my fellow January filers get approvals!!!

I am sure hoping me and the other 1/17's did not pick a cursed date and we all get skipped over LMAO....yikes.....But yes good to see CSC cranking them babies out!!!

As far as working Gareth is not planning on working unless we really need him to as I would like him to be home with Gabby after school until I get home from work etc...and when we have a baby we want one of us to be home as well. He may eventually get something part time or if he manages to get a much better paying job offered to him than what I have (not hard to beat sad to say!) then he will work...otherwise he is gonna be a kept man wink.gif heh heh
JeroenAndMichelle
Well, as I told a couple of days ago, I would get myself a pre-medical exam so I could ease my mind.. Just had it today and also got the results (even the HIV results and such as they can do a quick test these days): I passed on all points!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I mostly took this test as I am really nervous about the whole process already and the idea of me possibly having a serious decease or something was driving me crazy so to ease my mind I went for the test today as well.. Last night I didn't sleep at all and was seriously stressed since a couple of days because of this pre test (coz imagine they found something). Anyways, everything is A-OK! biggrin.gif I'm really happy at the moment and, with this, I also know I will pass the medical exam when I have to take it for the visa biggrin.gif

Welcome DramaKingandQueen! biggrin.gif

sunnybear - I forbid you to think such dreadful things. tongue.gif Besides, look at Cecile - she watched all of us January 11th filers receive our approvals which must have been extremely hard - but then she herself was approved a week later. smile.gif

Jereon - awesome! It must feel fantastic. I'm going to the nurse on Monday but that's just to discuss vaccinations; I may go to the doctor about a couple of minor things while it's still free, though! wink.gif

sunny - I've discussed Alex being a kept man, too. He's getting a rather good deal; he's importing me with the view to me working full time while he studies (or perhaps looks after the children star_smile.gif ). I'm not sure I can wait to have kids until he's finished school - that could take years and then one of us (probably him, as I'd have more work experience) would have to stay at home anyway. I'd really, really not want to wait beyond 30 as I'm concerned about fertility (having had an aunt who experienced 8 years of fertility problems I'd rather not take the risk). I'd also not want to be too old a parent. My mother had twins aged 41 and I think she and my dad find it a little tough being in their 50s and having youngsters sometimes.

LOL Rachel but yes I am a drama queen or a worrier I guess is more fitting a title blush.gif
As far as kids and such I agree best to get it done and out of the way heh heh! LOL. But seriously We will NEVER be ready so might as well go for it if it is something we know we really want right? I have my daughter Gabby who just turned 6 but I am seriously considering trying to get pregnant this November/December time frame. I know we do not have much money etc but again who ever does really? I know we want a child together so might as well try and get it done since I will then be 30 and Gareth 31 and yes the clock starts ticking haha....twins at 41 wowsa!!! That sounds tiring to me for sure but I am sure they don't regret it one bit!

You sound exactly like my mother! biggrin.gif She and my dad had me when they didn't have much money at all - and they coped. Babies don't know if everything they wear and play in is second-hand. We had more fun playing in cardboard boxes when our toys were in storage than with many other things - children can be very creative! I don't believe I suffered. And my mother would also say, 'you never feel ready', too. wink.gif

They certainly don't regret the twins; they may not have been planned but my parents appreciate having a large family now. Even though my mother had them with very few complications I do know she found it a lot harder; your body is just that little less bit able to cope. She was hospitalised for most of the last two months of her pregnancy.

I also think it'll be nicer for Gabby to have a sibling that is as close in age to her as possible. I love the twins to bits but they feel more like my nephew and niece (I left home when they were 3) and it's a very different family dynamic. Having siblings closer in age to me also made it a little easier for my parents - we'd often play together and occupy ourselves, so my mother could cook/clean the house and not always have to keep an eye on us.
sunnybear
Yup I wanted siblings close to Gabbys age sooo bad....one of the main reasons to my divorce to be honest haha....but will just have to wack one out as soon as possible wink.gif hahaha.....My sis and I are 6.5 years apart and it seems too far and now Gabby will have even a bigger difference but nothing I can do about that sad.gif

Well I am off to work for the day...hope to come home to loads more approvals!!! GO CSC GO!!!!
Cecile and Bryan
Sometimes I wish we could have a baby soon... but this is not going to happen. He is not ready (and as he said, he probably never will so I'll have to let him know when I think it's the right moment tongue.gif) and he wants to go back to school again, so it's better to at least wait until he gets his degree... It should take 2 years. Then... he'll say he is not ready, that it's better to make sure he has a good job, but i'll make him accept it's the right time for a baby tongue.gif And I'll be the stay-at-home mom at the beginning (because that's always been my dream)
Alex & Rachel
laughing.gif Yes - sounds about right!

See, I'm not very confident in Alex's ability to get a degree, otherwise I imagine I'd be in pretty much the same situation. wink.gif
KimandRuss
Ooooo it looks like you guys are clearing out pretty quickly over here! WTG CSC!

Sunny, i'm with you girl... you're never really 'ready'. People crack me up when they say they are waiting for more money..or a bigger house..etc. They just dont know! wink.gif Life will throw you curve balls all the time! My daughter is 16 this coming Monday and my son will be 13 in July. I'm 38 and Russell is 29 and we're planning on a new little 'nugget' to add to our clan soon too. I'm sure it will be much different this time around and i'm so looking forward to it! Sure, they're a lot of work but my kids are just awesome and I couldn't imagine my life without them. My kids (aka built in babysitters laughing.gif... jk) are very excited too!

Cecile.. sometimes a man, or woman for that matter, just doesn't know until he looks at that beautiful creation of your love and then it's all over! You better hope he doesn't want 10 after that! laughing.gif I stayed at home for about 14 years and never regretted a moment of it! I can see the world of difference it has made in my kids to have me here. Hardest thing I ever did though! Not to say you can't be a good mom and work..cuz that's what I do now..but because I work for myself, and around their schedule...i'm still there for them every day. Even more important when you have teenagers. wink.gif

@Rachel
I'll be confident when he starts going back to school. Until then, I'm not. But once he starts he won't have a choice, he'll have to finish! wink.gif

@Kim
I don't think I'll be a stay-at-home mom for very long. Maybe a year or two... but we never know, maybe he is going to find the best job in the world so I can stay at home longer.
Why do you say it was the hardest things you ever did?

Why do you say it was the hardest things you ever did?

Because it's what you care most about... you can't leave it on your desk at the end of the day or let something wait that needs doing. You are a parent 24/7..whether you have the time, or the energy or whether you're in the mood or not. If you do it right anyway. wink.gif Lots of people just think that being there is enough. I'm a mom who thinks it's important to interact, serve as an example and share the wonders of the world with her kids and I tried to fill their time with happy, beautiful and fun things. Once they started school, I was as involved as I could be with that too. Also coached pop warner cheering for many, many... many years. A full time job in itself! There are just so many demands that you are not rewarded monetarily for... but they do make you rich in so many other ways. wink.gif So, while it's the hardest job i've had, it's by far the most rewarding.

We also lost a child to a heart problem between the two I have now so I am well aware that bad things can and do happen. sad.gif An added stress that I hope none of you ever have to endure.

I've never been one to sit still or watch daytime tv or anything so when the kids were napping I taught myself html and other scripting languages... I took computers apart and put them back together... all of which I do now for work wink.gif ... and I filled my time with tons of volunteer work. I also lost 200 pounds, started a website and went on many tv shows and magazine shoots in that time. My husband at the time was a great support and I am surrounded by a super family and great friends but the day to day, although rewarding like nothing else, was a lot of work.

aravis227
Good morning everyone! Well...morning for me anyway smile.gif

For all the kid talk...I can't wait to have kids! We're going to wait at least a year from when he moves here since we've never gotten to live together...we want to give ourselves time to just be together. Then we're both all for having a couple or four kids. biggrin.gif

Hmmm...how is it that there have been three or four approvals, but I haven't moved anywhere on Igor's list? I mean...I totally understand moving up one or two...but how can I not be moving at all?

I did noticed we moved back 1 spot (we went from 65 to 59 and back to 60), I think we went back up one again because of new people signing up at VJ and/or filling in their timelines... if they happen to have filed before us, they will automatically put is back again smile.gif

He's been attending an English class this semester, but had overslept and missed the past four lessons and was very discouraged. He also had an essay due in today - a 6-7 page argumentative essay. At 3 am his time he had 1 page, and was thinking of skipping class and failing the course. So I told him to go to bed and wrote half the essay for him, then woke him up at 8 am and we finished the paper together. He went to class, is still in class (don't think the teacher noticed his absence) and was allowed to hand the paper in half an hour late. tongue.gif I even *shudder* had to make sure that I used American spellings for him. wink.gif

I know it was a really, really naughty thing to do, but I'm not going to make it a regular occurrence!
