rofl.gif Levi and I always have "discussions" about the proper word to use and how they should be spelled and he's just from Canada!! They put U's in things that shouln't have U's and he borrowed his friend some money instead of loaned him some money and its an expirey instead of expiration date. A winter hat is NOT a hat its a toque..... On and on.. Its funny

hehehe...we laugh about the "expirey" date all the time! He also talks about "traffic pylons" which I think is adorable! I picked that up from him and say it, too. smile.gif

Does Dennis have a noticeable accent? Levi does and I think its so cute biggrin.gif

Yeah...but it's not really placeable. Both of his parents grew up in Germany and moved to Canada in their 20's...Dennis' first language was German and it was all they spoke in their house until he was a teenager...so his accent is this weird amalgamation...it's like he speaks Canerman. smile.gif

Levi's mom has a strong German accent but they speak low German as they came from South America in their 20's. South American Germans lol.

You know...the similarities in our relationships are almost eerie! girlwerewolf2xn.gif

i agree with the almond with the SILENT "l"..as in silently include the letter "L" sound there..

I really think it just depends on the region.

lol, I usually don't hear the 't' (or 'd' but pronounced as a 't') in several words with the British... words like 'gutter', 'allowed', 'mate' and so such usually miss the 't' in the pronouncation lol

I drop a LOT of mid-word consonants and get made fun of for it constantly. (I'm the USC...so I really have no excuse other than being third generation USC...I think it is a remnant smile.gif ).

Hi Shes!
When you get your NOA2, you have to wait 2 weeks before you can call NVC, and see if they received your petition.
The phone number is 603-334-0700.You have to talk to an agent, because the automated message doesn't take care of K-1 visas.
Or, you can just wait and see. Your fiancé will receive a paper from NVC, saying when they received your petition, and also give you a new case number your foreign embassy will use.
Once you have that paper, they said your case should be to your appropriate embassy within a week.
Then, you just need to wait to received the packet 3 from your embassy.
For other info don't hesitate to go the guides, or the K1 Flowchart. It usually gives you a good idea of the all process! star_smile.gif

KimandRuss
just for those of you who are unaware... you can track your petition from the NVC to the USEM as well. wink.gif
CourtAndGrey
Thanks for reminding us of this thread KimandRuss. I had seen it once before awhile ago, but had forgotten about it. Hopefully, I will be able to actually use this information sometime in the near future!

lol, they didn't get approved yesterday, they just updated their timelines because of the NVC arrivals and such wink.gif

I got fooled by that a lot of times as well by now lol.. normally you dont see that much because the list keeps going but now it stands still for over a week so the people in the approved part of the list stay there a bit longer smile.gif

Happy Sunday all! I already got up did some wii fit (hey at least my wii age has gone from 41 to 31 past couple of days hahah even though I am not even 30 yet! SIGH).

Going to start on the mountain of laundry I need to take care of. Gareth is going out for the day with friends so this means no excuses on me getting stuff done haha!

Then Gabby and I will head to store and come home and make a chicken and bacon pasta salad up to bring to the cookout we are attending tonight. Gabby already has it in her mind we will buy a bubble machine for her to play with there so I know what I will be wasting some money on hahaha KIDS!!! I have to admit they are pretty cool though wink.gif

NOA2 Recvd but Online Status is Broke
My I-129F NOA1 date is Jan 4th and NOA2 date is May 7, and NVC received on May 15, 2008.
I know the last two dates from paper mail.
CSC "updated" my "online status" on May 7 but it reads exactly the same as it did in January. There is no mention of the NOA2.
I was also signed up for email notification, but alas, no email arrived.
Is it routine for the electronic notices to be missed?
CourtAndGrey
Congrats Ten & DJ!!!

The short answer to your question would be yes. It seems that lately, the computer system may or may not show that your NOA2 was issued and you may or may not get that email. Sometimes people will see a "touch" on their case, as you have, but the status doesn't change. Consider this yet another example of how USCIS is hardly a smooth operating machine. Nevertheless, you now have the NOA2, and it seems you are well on your way to those papers reaching the embassy! What a nice surprise!

Congrats again! I hear everything goes much faster now!

BIG BIG CONGRATS DJ+Ten.. if Nvc received the approved I-129F May 15, there is a strong possibilty that your papers are already in Manila US embassy. You can call to schedule interview appointment already. Numbers to call are: 1-909-101-7878 if calling within the Philippines... 1-888-877-9888 if calling outside the Philippines. Some wait for the beneficiary to receive notification from embassy, others like me didn't wait at all. (I am highly OC so I tracked down our papers from NVC to USEM and soon as I knew our papers were there we gave it 2 working days then we called for interview appointment)

Pls check here for more information:http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html

I hope this will help. Good luck to you both. good.gif

Yes sir you can call, you won't have interview appointment sched unless you make the call. it is the new procedure ath the US embassy in the Philippines now.. when to call is another question. For us we called soon as our papers was with embassy in manila and didn't have problem at all. But pls make sure that you only call Monday to Friday, 8AM-6PM Manila time.

Pls check the Philippine forum for US embassy manila specific topics.

Best of luck again. good.gif

Good morning sunnybear! Aside from trying to get rid of your headache, what are your plans for memorial day?
sunnybear
Well Gabby and I went and looked at a house for sale....have u seen the movie MoneyPit? Yeah that was this house LOL....well when we were done with house there was a parade right on that street so we watched that. We then went to the beach for a walk and then got icecream. Now we are home and I just got done chatting with Gareth.

I am off to take a nap now as feel extremely tired!!! What have you been up to today Cecile?
BlakeandOlha
Sunnybear, sounds like a wonderful day. I'm moving furniture about today and trying not to work too hard. I hope everyone is having a wonderful memorial day today and enjoying the commencement of summer. To get things rolling this week here's the updated listing. We had a poor showing last week, although it's very difficult to tell with the system problems the CSC is having. Unfortunately it'll probably be a light week this week (attempt at reverse psychology) so stay strong. good.gif

Just as an update, Shirley got her letter from the embassy about 5/22/08!! BUT...it was from the Hong Kong USE not Manilla. While she is currently still in Hong Kong, she will not be able to interview there since she has an error on her passport and will need to return to Phil to correct. Once corrected she can not return to HK without running the risk of being accused of falsifying her documents by the HK immigration....SOOO....I will be contacting the HK USE and finding out how to get her petition sent to Manilla.

FYI for VJers. I put Manilla on the I 129F question #20 which asks which embassy she will apply for the visa at....unfortunately they just sent it to the embassy nearest her current address....I attempted to change her address but the USCIS had just approved it and sent to NVC who reported they had just sent to embassy when they responsded to my address change email....they did not specify which embassy and it was only after Shirley got a letter from HK USe that I realized it had gone there. I had called Manilla Emabesy and they did not have it yet....now I know why!

Soooo good news the process is moving forward but have another hurdle to jump before interview......

Thanx again for all the great technical help. I try to respond when I have knowledge of a question asked but generaly just don't have time for chit chat stuff. I work full time, in process of buying a house for us, and recently just moved, on top of starting a new job.

Have a blessed day!

Good Post, you certainly have a lot going on, but please check in from time to time to let us know how you're doing.

Never heard of that movie before... From what they say on Wikipedia, that would mean the house was falling apart?
Yesterday was a quiet day at work. Then I had an appointment with my doctor, she was late... the appointment was at 6:30pm, I left her office at almost 8pm! Then I spent the evening chatting with Bryan. He has started packing for his moving out in a few weeks. We're getting close!

Steven and Shirley, I'm sure HK will send it to Manila without too much trouble. Let us know when everything is back on track.

A new week begins at CSC. I hope that they will approve some late filers from 2007 and that they will start the second part of January filers!!

Good Morning All!!! star_smile.gif

Tough to get out of bed this morning, and I've been moving quite slowly so far. Just think, all the adjudicators are getting the last cup of coffee for the road and getting ready to head down to the 405 to Laguna Niguel. I'm hoping they're in a good mood and ready to make some people happy. At a minimum I hope they're moving faster than I am right now.

I'll go over there and bring them coffee all day if they'll concentrate on K-1s for a little while! Anyone know if the updates are accurate on their website are accurate yet?

Sorry but I bet they some of them are taking this week off as well. Maybe everyone does it but here in Cali most people use short weeks in order to not have to take so many vacation days. So my guess is that this will be a quiet week too.

I saw the new Indiana Jones movie with my boys yesterday. Have you seen it yet? I hear the Russians are complaining that they are the bad guys this time, as its set in 1957. I thought it was pretty good. Harrison Ford looks old though...

MY kids saw it and liked it... Was hoping for an NOA2 before the end of the month but not holding my breath now.
