Morning all smile.gif I'm trying to add a picture of Levi and I to my profile but can't figure out how to do it!!! HELP

Go to My Controls > Change Personal Photo. smile.gif

I'm so not computer saavy LOL. The picture is on my e-mail how do I get it from there to here?

Save the image to your computer (usually right click > save as) and then you can upload it from your computer (click 'browse' and then search for where you saved your photo).

Hope that helps!

Thanks! I'll try it right now smile.gif

Good Morning Everyone star_smile.gif

I had a softball game last night and the after game celebrating went on a little late last night. Needless to say I am now a limping duck with a hangover. I'm not thinking I'll be very productive today. I saw that April approval it could be a cuban fiancee - very short approval times but very long time spent waiting for an interview. Or... it could be a mistake, but we'll never really know since timelines are not accessible for them. Oh well.

The mail from Monday should be hitting mailboxes today and tomorrow so this evening I am hopeful we'll see a revival in CSC approval postings. But, people should brace themselves if this doesn't happen. Monday is a holiday here and there is no work nor mail delivery so we could be in for a bit of a dry spell into Tuesday. I, like many of you, am also worried about being left behind. Looking at Mox, L&P and some of the other active posters I almost get a "Moses" complex - you can see the promised land but you cannot enter - feeling. It's not rational but since when did fears need to be rational. Having Cecile and Rachel approved has eased my mind a bit, and I don't carry a staff, nor wear a beard and long flowing robes (or look like Charlton Heston). Perhaps if I also avoid burning bushes and stop leading people through the desert for a while, all will be well. tongue.gif

Now do like Rachel said, go to My Controls which is at the top of the page, then click update personal photo and you should see a browse button. Click on that and go to the picture file you have on your computer and click on that. then just upload the thing and you're done.

Oof, hangovers are no fun! I had one...once. tongue_ss.gif Never again! Fortunately I'd had the foresight to take the next day off work (it was after the Rocky Horror Show on a Tuesday night and I anticipated staying out late) and sat in a park on a gloriously sunny day eating a huge, greasy and very tasty burger from the park café.

laughing.gif Isn't that perfect - the website for an arm of the US Department of Homeland Security has crashed. Unbelievable - time to call the plagues upon the CSC...... oops, can't do that either.

The one consolation I take from this process is that CSC is apparently quicker than VSC when it comes to AOS. Hopefully everything will even out in the end!

My head goes headbonk.gif The only way to survive is to eat either a greasy hamburger or get some flaming hot mexican food. One smothers the pain, the other purifies by fire. Both effective. When's lunch..... biggrin.gif

To keep everyone updated on our status......sent the RFE back and they received it on Monday 5/19/2008.

No action since then though........hope it gets acted on soon and hopefully not another RFE in the mail!.....ugh

Pulling for the rest of you too! Hopefully we will have all of January filers completed soon!

Cheers!

Maybe, but I really don't care for a long AOS process atm lol.. I wanna be with my sweetie... the AOS takes place while I am there wink.gif

maybe its a good thing tho.. one of the plagues was about the first born sons... if that happened, we would never get our approvals because of all the leaves at csc :S lol
JeroenAndMichelle
On another note, I just got home from getting my birth certificate...

of course, with everything else that we don't get... they didn't give me my birth certificate lol.. I forgot I had to get it in the city I am born and that is somewhere else lol. I did get the one for my daughter (even tho she is not joining me to the US, they still want to see a birth certificate for her). Im going to order mine online as soon as I finish this post (gotta love the information technology progress hehe).

Did you guys see the statement on the VJ News from the new "interim" USCIS director? No mention of our visas at all - just the naturalizations. This is definitely the worst year to do this... ranting33va.gif

Hey Blake... I mean Moses... no, I mean Blake,

Just wanted to point out that the April approval was an '07 not an '08. So in fact their wait wasn't such a lucky one.

By the way, I AM SO TERRIFIED OF GETTING LEFT BEHIND!!!!!!!!!! But like we've said, I think everyone is in that boat. I thought it was very gracious of Rachel to say a few weeks ago, that if anyone gets a slightly longer wait, it could be her cause she's not moving until later this fall. Very kind of you. However, I'm quite happy to see you got the NOA2 nice and early anyway. You sure deserve it! And NO ONE ever deserves to be left behind.

AH! I am so scared of being left behind, too...I just got more scared about it reading estadia's post. She said CSC was concerned about their age difference...there are 10 years between Dennis and me, I'm 27 and he's 37. I hope that doesn't cause problems. I think I'm just having a panicky, extra-stressed day today.

me, too! and i didn't realize that the age difference was a problem in estadia's case. (i pray she and all those waiting an extra long time get their approval soon!!!)

for what it's worth there are 12 years between david and me but we have never, ever had any issues happen as a result of the difference. i don't think it matters as long as two people are happy together.

ANYWAY, i hope your day calms down and the panic and stress fades away. smile.gif

I'm not worried about it causing problems with us...I'm only worried about CSC delaying things because of it. I have seriously considered moving in with my Aunt Mimi for the summer because she lives in Rhode Island and it would mean I could transfer my case to VSC! laughing.gif

Well it keeps telling me I used an invalid file extension when I try to add my pic so guess no pics for me!!! Levi is 5 years younger than me but not really worried about that but was reading someone here was denied because the CO didn't feel they had enough proof of their relationship and that worries me a bit. Levi and I text constantly but don't talk on the phone much to keep the bills down and when we are together we're busy being together not taking pic's of us together. Did that make sense?

really age matters to the uscis? wow! thats kinda weird...me and my handsome are both 24 and we'll both be 25 on october. how i wish we will be able to celebrate our birth days together this year.

lets all be positive, we dont know how our application will be processed, only God knows and lets just wait with anticipation that our application will be approved this may.

Yes!! Dennis and I have the same problem with pictures...we didn't have any spontaneous pictures from our first several visits. But we have phone records and boarding passes...I realized we would have a bit of a problem there, so I started calling him a couple of times a week, even if it was just for 10 or 15 minutes so that we would have phone records. We have a lot of pictures from the last visit, including pics with my mom, brothers, and dad. So I really hope it's enough.

We have ton's of pictures of whatever we were doing... The museums... Aquarium... Stuff like that but yeah not many of us together because we were just busy enjoying what we were doing! Lol.. He'll be here next month so guess we'll have to make a point of getting some then. Did you send any with your application? I sent one.

and geez... USCIS concerned about ages?? That would be the last thing I would be worried about, as long as it is legal. I wont have this problem tho (my fiance is 30 and im 31) but when I look to my parents.. my dad was 30 years older than my mom and they were married because of love and nothing else.. age is nothing but a number if you ask me :/

I don't think the age difference is a problem...but someone else who has been stuck in extended processing for months said that the CSC person she talked to on the phone said that their age difference might be contributing to their wait. She's 21 and he's 33. I am just hoping it doesn't cause a problem with us.

There may be other issues there than just the age differential which are bringing estadia's file into a security review situation. The state of Kashmir has many issues regarding terrorism/seperatism and is a hot point between Pakistan and India so they could be running into a Name Similarity issue that the security clearance people are having a hard time resolving. As far as the age differential is concerned I don't think it matters - unless there is some question as to Sara's age when they met - (she says 18). Finally, there is the potential issue of how the reviewing officer views the prior K-1 her fiancee was on and the reasons why it was pulled - something that only the CSC may know.

Regardless, there are a number of items that might play into why the CSC has taken so incredibly long with her application - items that are unique to estadia's case. Personally I think it is insane what the CSC is doing to her. I say if security is an issue, then out with it and give them an opportunity to respond, don't just keep this thing bouncing from reviewer to reviewer.

Anyway, my point is that as long as there is proof of a bona fide relationship, then age doesn't matter.

i have to admit, i was getting quite silly with the phone calls and text messages. i was even waking up in the middle of the night thinking that my phone was ringing! i guess i'm just not that used to constant communication from... well, anyone! not even my own brain keeps itself as occupied and david and i were keeping each other on the phone and through email for a while.

busy is good! biggrin.gif

Does anyone else get the phantom phone vibrations?! We text so much that sometimes I think I feel my phone vibrate when it really didn't... laughing.gif

I get these, too! Even when my phone isn't anywhere near me!

So if i'm 38 and he's 29 what does that make me, eh??? Besides SMART I mean! laughing.gif

I'm with Blake in regards to sara's case. I think one uninformed secretary made a statement that she probably shouldn't have. Age means very little when it comes to matters of the heart and i'm sure the uscis feels the same. Now too much of an age difference ...with other 'noticeable' contributing factors does give me that pervy visa fraud feeling too but eh, who are we to judge who is in love and who is in visa-love? That's for the uscis to decide and hopefully they're doing their job! As Blake stated, Sara's SO is from a pretty rough part of the world and we know he was already stuck in security clearance. The problem I see with her case is that she gets a different answer depending on the day and the voice at other end. That's just not right. I mean, if they're in security checks then state that and stay with that...don't tell her it's with an adjuticator and about to be approved then tell her it's back in checks. I know there are several levels of database checks but this is really just ridiculous and my heart goes out to them both as i'm sure do yours.

We were touched today! I know it means nothing but it feels oooo sooo good! laughing.gif

I'd like to extend my late BIG BIG CONGRATS to those who have been approved in the last 2weeks.

I'm back after a long period of going through medical and interview.... Our medical and interview was not the smoothest of smooth but I don't have any right to complain since we got approved. kicking.gif

Now that I think about it, the consul did ask me my age then he asked me ricky's birthdate... there's a 15year gap between us, Ricky being the cradle snatcher whistling.gif (if a 30yr old woman could still be considered in a cradle innocent.gif )...

kidding aside, the consul was more concerned about the authenticity of the relationship than the age difference and also the legal capacity of each party to contact marriage.
JeroenAndMichelle
Congrats to you too in getting the well deserved visa biggrin.gif I'm happy you got through the process ok ^^
sunnybear
You guys are cracking me up with your cradle robbing! Heeheee! But no I was not talking of anyone on this thread at all when I mentioned pervy peeps haha! Just some pics that stuck out to me in the gallery when I first came here etc....I don't think a 10 or 15 year gap is that bad especially if the people involved are in late 20's and older! It is the 40 and up crowd that then marry a 20 year old that bugs me a bit more....mainly cause I know even though I married at 18 my first time around I know through my early 20's I personally was still soooo young.....again a personal opinion etc haha!

I sure hope we see some CSC approvals tonight and tomorrow before the holiday weekend truly hits sad.gif
JeroenAndMichelle
Sooo that was another day without approvals... Sorry to say but I doubt we're seeing approvals today as it is the last day before the weekend.. I think we'll have to wait till tuesday or wednesday at earliest... :/
