Hmm... how did we meet... well, we were both members on an online community and I've seen her posting in the forums a few times but we never really talked.. When she started showing up in the chatroom of this community, for some reason we always missed each other (well, guess the reason was exactly 12 hours time difference lol) but after a while we came in contact with each other and it clicked right away between us. After a while we talked more and more, mostly in private chat sessions and eventuelly we began to feel the love between each other. There was one problem tho, she was still in a relationship but, as she told me back then (and as it really showed more and more to me), it wasn't a relationship in which she wanted to be. The guy was really not for her but she was scared to break up because of how he might react.. in the end she did break up tho and then we basically decided we should meet each other and so we did last september.. the rest followed really quick as it all felt so good between us

Oh my, that's crazy...that's pretty much mine and Alex's story, word for word. Ours took a lot longer to progress, though. We started to chat privately in early 2004. We didn't even realise we each had a little bit of a crush on each other for another two years. In the meantime, I left a guy with whom I had no prospects (it was never a relationship that was going to go anywhere, but my problem was that instead of being scared of the guy's reaction I was comfortable and friends with the guy and it took a while for me to haul my ### and move on with my life) and we finally met in July 2006 and have been together since.

the date was today's date (14th) and they said "on the 13th of May we have sent you a notice of approval bla bla bla...".

Ok since you all are sharing stories I will share the one of Steph and Gareth hahaha.....aka I am sunny and he is Bear....

Wellll I was married to my highschool sweetheart almost 10 years and had my daughter Gabby with him....loved him and nothing was really that horrid about the marriage....but it just wasn't the marriage I wanted so to speak...call me greedy but I craved more affection than he gave etc...I also want more children and he was not willing to compromise on this....so between those two things and loads more little things the marriage started going downhill....I started getting heavily tattooed at this point (my sleeves) and lo and behold I meet Gareth since our tattooist was his good friend at the time and was working out of Gareth's flat until he got his own place. Gareth was laid upon his sofa watching tv and didn't speak much really to me the first time we met, just normal hellos and such. Well when I was getting ready to leave I was bending over fastening my shoes (green vans with velcro straps heehee) and glance over to catch him really checking me out.....he hurried and looked away and I just grinned.

We then began speaking over myspace through comments and such. I was a stay at home mom and he worked in an office he was on messenger almost every day. Well he knew all the ins and outs of my marriage good and bad. He never was trying to "Get me" so to speak in fact I was more after him....Well my then husband kept going out every weekend leaving me behind unless I wanted to take our daughter to parties with me (which I didn't!). So I sat home and talked to Gareth then on the weekends as well.....

You can all see where this is going right? Anywayyy I never thought I would have the guts to leave my husband cause even though I was very close to finishing my degree I was VERY dependent on him since we had been together since I was 15. But then caught him messing around with some other married women etc....this was my OUT. He agreed to let me take our daughter with me and that was that.

Gareth and I are still in a state of disbelief it is all going to actually happen and our dreams are going to come true....we always thought "oh maybe in another lifetime" etc....

So yeah that is my scandalous story haha!

Children was a big point of contention with me, too. I can fully sympathise there. So does Gareth want more children? My ex hated children and that was why I knew we were never going to have a lasting relationship - it was okay while we were at college, but once we had both graduated I knew it'd be time to part sooner or later. Finding someone like Alex who is marriage and child-orientated at his age is like finding gold! We are going to wait a few years to begin a family but at least I know we have similar ambitions.

Oh yes Gareth wants to "sprog me up" as soon as possible hahahaha! So we are both really excited to have a child or two together!

Awesome! Aw, and I bet your daughter is going to love having little brothers and/or sisters.

I've said to Alex I'll give him until I'm 30, and then we're trying for a baby no matter what.

Also, I had another look at your photos and your tattoos really are amazing - I thought your sleeve was part of your top! I obviously needed to wear my glasses.

Aww thanks Rachel...yeah I usually just get compliments on them which is pretty surprising cause i live in a rather close minded town. I think because of the fact they are colorful and non scary and that I have the blonde hair blue eyed girl next door look that all helps Gareth may have another thing coming though heehee....his tattoos are all done in black and gray and he has full leg and arm sleeves done! Told him to get ready for the stares!

I turn 30 this next month hence the reason I am in a rush to get a baby here! Gabby just turned 6 yesterday so she is already at the very least going to be 7 years older! I am hoping to get pregnant for the new year Any other VJ'ers wanna join me on the mama journey? haha.....

After being apart from him for nearly a year, it won't take much convincing for him to agree to your demands...... Did I just say that? I think Gareth will do just fine, I'm sure you know that lots of interesting things go on in those small close mined towns.

Sharing our stories, what a great idea! Here's ours.

I was participating in a forum and one day there's this guy who joins in the conversation. Shortly after, we started e-mailing and then one day he suggested we talk through Netmeeting. I was pretty nervous but just had to do it. Through e-mails, we had discovered having so many things in common that I just had to know him more. Our relationship started as a friendship which turned into a deep friendship as I could talk with him about everything and he could too. It was amazing the openness between us (and make no mistake, this openness is still there. It's simply amazing, never thought I would ever meet someone like that even as a friend).

About six months later, he told me he had fallen in love. I felt sad 'cause I wasn't and told him so but that if he was ok with it, we could remain good friends. He agreed and we kept on e-mailing and talking. He never once tried to force his love on me and was very respectful of my feelings. Now that I look back on it, I know I was already in love with him too, just wasn't seeing it or being ready to admit it to myself. Took me I don't know exactly how long but I'd guess about six months or so until I finally realized I was in love too.

About three years after we started e-mailing, we finally had a chance to meet in person. I travelled to the US and when we met, it was as thought we had been together all of our life, not a single ackward moment. I truly feel blessed to have him in my life. He's very respectful of me and of others and just by the way he is, the way he reacts to things and to people, he has helped me to grow tremendously. We are now in the visa process and I can hardly wait to be with my love for good. He is the sweetest and most loving man I've ever known.

We can't wait to have kids! We are probably going to wait a little bit longer than you, though...we want to give ourselves at least a year after he moves here so that we can adjust to our own relationship before we have kids...but neither of us really thinks we'll make it a full year because we both really want them. We have the big wedding in May'09, so we have to wait at least until then!

First of all, there are some really great people who post on this thread. If there is one benefit to being a CSC filer it is that we have the time to truely get to know each other and become compadres in this process. I'm glad you are posting here as well.

Your story is a beautiful one and reminds me of what my mom used to say: we don't find love, love finds us. It sounds like love found you and your man when it was the right time to do so. I know you two will build a beautiful life together. I love this stuff, who's got another story....

As everybody is sharing story, this is my turn now .

Richard and I we met online, on the Second Life game.
I was there for some months, I spending my time there as a fashion designer and also as a DJ.
As a DJ, I was streaming music on a club place and saying silly things on the mic to make peeps laughing.
It was funny.
And a day, this guy sent me a message as I was DJing. I don't saw it, I had too many message.
When I finally saw it, he was offline.

Some days after he sent me a long message as I was offline. It touched me 'cause, I was acting like someone funny, silly and really happy when I was djing, but wasn't. And he knew it. It's what he wrote to me.

So I answered him... we started to be great friend, chatting every days, mailing every days and as it was not enough we started to talk at phone.
He was in Europe for work, he was in London, and a day joking or not I told him, your so close, why you don't come to have a coffee with me.
2 days after he came!!! for 2 hours that we spent in a bar near my work. It was just wonderful.
Before he comes, i knew that something big was happening.
And as we met in person, we felt in love. He came back the day after to stay the weekend with me... a magical weekend.
The rest is history

Anyways, I got a 10 year old girl myself but want to have more kids. My daughter will stay behind with her mother, but my fiance and I want to have some more kids as soon as possible, I'm 31, she is 30 so yeah, time is ticking as well hehe. I shouldn't but still I do hope for boys, this mainly because I am the last of our bloodline and if we want to have our family bloodlines keep going, I should get some boys lol.. then again, I'm already happy as long as the babies are healthy ^^

We are probably going to wait several years before to have children. Probably at least 3. I would love to have kids very soon, but we are going to have many things to deal with before that happens. And, after all these years apart, we should spend some time only the two of us. And he's not ready anyway

Grrrrr this morning I was late, I'm with my daugther, strike again at school. So, she don't walk so fast... and we was late.
My boss called me as we was on the way. He was, where are you, you're late!
I told him, do you remember that I come with Gally, she can't walk fast as me.
he started being upset. I told him : OK, it's like that?! Next strike, I'll stay at home. And I ended the call.
Since I arrived. he even don't came to say me something.

I did bring her the other day to see where I work though and it totally freaked her out as too many people...she kept saying "Stranger Danger" LOL boy oh boy what this world has come to that we have to be afraid of all we don't know huh?

I have a good news about that, actually my boss is not so bad. I was talking with him earlier. And he asked me, when I think I will be gone.
I told him, as soon I will have my NOA2 I will give you my notice. But, if its possible I would like to go 2 months after, not 3 months.
He answered. What I ask is when you want to go!
I told him, that I would like to be in August in Chicago. He said: OK!

No. I did talk to them about going to the USA last year. They have subsidiaries over there so I asked them if there would be any job there for me. Sadly there wasn't. I haven't told them anything about me going there and getting married. Since then, I believe, the people I talked to were replaced by new ones who don't know anything about me. The thing is that I'm employed by a SSII (software and computing services company), but they send me to their client office. So I don't see my bosses very often. If I could see them more, I would have probably told them.

Exciting stuff! I can't believe it's really happening, either!

I'm not going to walk to the doctor's surgery today because I am so stiff and sore from working out at the gym. But Alex can't send me all of the papers until next week anyway, so I have a little time.

Ugh. So I'm talking to an old internet friend and I know he is getting married soon so when he begins asking me questions about the visa and about where I plan to get married I figure he wants to compare stories and swap advice and suchlike.

Instead so far he hasn't answered any of my questions and all he's said, in response to me explaining that we'll be living with Alex's parents and that Alex will eventually go back to school full time is 'I hope you don't stay there too long' and 'I hope he sticks with that'.

Geez, way to come off as condescending and superior. Now I remember why I stopped talking to him. He's only a couple of years older than me. And if he knew me at all he'd know that the last thing I'd do is impose on Alex's parents for too long.

I guess I've grown too used to chatting to people from here who actually know what it's like to be poor and inconvenienced and who have to make the best of a bad situation.

Try to forget about that guy, Rachel. there will always people who will turn happy moments into bad ones just because they feel superior and they would not do things the way you intend to do them.
