USCIS claims that they process the petitions in the order they receive them but this is one more proof that they don't.
On Igor's list, there are probably several people who have left VisaJourney and don't update their timeline anymore, but even if we removed these ones, yes you're right there are still some people waiting and I hope they will get their approval, if not before us, at least at the same time as we do.
Right now I'm hoping for an approval in May. It might be this week or in 3 weeks, but I really hope that at the end of May, it will be done. We can never know for sure though.

Another thing that I heard or read I dont remember is that, USICS has to depend on other agencies like the FBI or so to receive security checks and so on... it makes sense for them to do these stuff in bulk which would reflect on the burst of approvals we a getting overnight, they might have received a bulk of files from another department and hence handing out approvals to those cleared. Anyways we should wait and see this week how the going is. Hope for the best.

I did give my SO a ring when she was here but that was more for her birthday instead of our engagement. We kinda didn't do that yet.. and I'm seriously wondering if we will have rings when we marry.. we might wait with that until we get a bigger marriage (unless I have the money for the rings during the initial marriage but I doubt that since I know her wishes and I want to give her the ring she wants to have)..

This morning I went to the family court to make the agreement between me and my little one's dad ratified by the judge!
All was good. I will have the final court order at the end of the month.
Something i don't have to worry about now.

I do have an engagement ring; it wasn't anything that broke the bank, and I did tell Alex that I certainly didn't require one, but he insisted on giving me one. It's titanium and sapphire and my friends and family love it!

Ooh - my parents fly to Krakow today. My mother had her ears tested and was given the all-clear to fly, but she's understandably very nervous so my dad booked this week's holiday for her so she could get used to a short, 3 hour flight before she flies next year to my wedding.

I did go to bed late - I didn't start watching Princess Mononoke until I'd finished tidying and cleaning the house so it was 3 am by the time that finished. I woke up at 10 am and spoke to Alex for a couple of hours, went back to sleep and then just recently woke up again!

Now I have to hurry to the shops to see if they're open as I'm cooking dinner for friends tonight.

I will. I'll be having a civil ceremony to satisfy the visa requirements (and so we can get the EAD app in) right after he gets here, but we'll be having an Episcopal ceremony in May 2009. I've already talked to my priest and explained the situation, he's ok with doing our wedding like that.

Shops were open - phew! Sometimes on a bank hol they adopt a Sunday trading time of 10-4. I have fresh trout fillets, new potatoes, carrots, broccoli and button mushrooms which I'll make a garlic butter for. My housemate and friend were out partying until 6 am in Nottingham and that means they probably had kebabs and a fry-up this morning (best cure for a hangover!) so they can have something lighter and healthier this evening.

Nothing religious for me, either, although we may have a couple of prayers said to keep my parents happy. My mother is a devout Catholic, my dad's a very keen Protestant, and my parents had a huge Catholic wedding themselves so yes, they're disappointed that I'm not having a religious ceremony.

i see...btw, i read the post about drivers license in the U.S...it clearly states there that if we have a foreign license ,tis good for 6 months to use...BUT if were going to reside into a certain state then we need to apply for the state drivers license...

and since we are inline with being a resident in california, then we still need to apply for the drivers license and rules of being able to use our drivers license in our country (for 6 months) cant be applied to us.

That's what I've been led to understand, too.

After watching the approvals over the last 4 months I wouldn't put any stock in the claim that applications are worked on in the order they are received. I think the service centers consider filing your application when it is received as work. There will be mid January approvals before early January approvals, just like I am sure there will be some February approvals before my end of January application is approved. Once you see that you are in the processing window (other applications are being approved with a similar timeline as yours) you can expect some action within a window of a couple of weeks. It's really all a crapshoot though.

As for the earlier people still within the window at the CSC, it's hard to say what's the situation. Some are active and some are inactive, there may be RFE's for some that have not been entered in the timeline, or....who knows.

We've had two updates today, one a december filer, and then judging by the impact on the projected timeline, one that was quite old - and certainly with an approval date before May 1.

hmm.. guess the monday must have done this... I was just checking up on my VJ timeline and while it said during the weekend I was back to July 5th (been on June 22 before as well), I am climbing now again to July 11th..so guess the monday is the cause to this..hopefully we will see lots of approvals the rest of the week

My how times have changed....

Well...let's not push it too far. I would say that CSC has gone from plinking out notes to playing elevator music!

Well put. If you want to get real tingles, go and read some of the posts from people who describe coming through customs and being welcomed to the US. I always get teary eyed when I see how happy they are and the relief at being with their loved ones again. Pure kodak moment type stuff.

Hmm.. when I look at Igor's list and Blake's list im all but when I then look at my VJ timeline, I really become after which I go and then I am almost like but then I realize it wont be like that but that it will all be ok and I become all again hehe


edit: lol, almost forgot why I became like that coz I got too much into the smilies and stuffs.. anyways, I get those feelings since I was moving to a shorter time again but I am all back to the long waiting line again according to the time line which is so weird when I look to the approvals lol
