Hi everybody,
So i received my NVC case# on February 13, 2007 for my wife. About how long until then do you think she will be at her interview, assuming everything goes smoothly in NVC with the documents?

I've seen that but I'm just looking for a rough time estimate for each step in the NVC process until the interview.

It is hard to predict because every case is different. Depend how fast you get your paper back to NVC and hopefully the forms and documents will be error free. After the NVC things will depend on the embassy where your interview will take place. Some are faster than others.

It took me from Sept - Feb. If I had done everything right, though, I might have been 100% finished in Dec.
No mistakes - 3-4 months. Make mistakes - 4-6 months. It's partially in your hands.

that is true 3-4 months without or minor mistake
with mistake it will take longer than 6 months.
another thing when you get your info from abroad it will take longer
my guess look at a time frame for 6months

Great info guys, but I really don't want to make any mistakes. It is a fear of mine. What are some of the bigger mistakes that held you back?

So far I didnt made any mistake. If you are using James`s shortcut read and be very carefull with instructions and you`ll be fine.
Good luck!

Thanks DaniAndEnrique,
I've been reading it also. Just waiting at this point as to when I can send the DS-3032 and the AOS bill. I'm gonna email the DS-3032 because it seems people have been doing well with that.

the biggest mistake i see people make is one word on Q20 of DS230 'present' or current tax return

I've seen that too. I can't believe one word like "present" can delay everything. Its ridiculous. All we want is our spouses back with us and they have to bust our chops about everything. I can't wait for it all to be over.

Mine was 5 Months - with 1 minor error.
I filed the DS230 with standard processing, when it was Appointment processing. In other words, I followed the wrong instructions.
I just needed to send in additional forms & original documents ... that's all. If I had done things right, we would have been finished in January - AND - we would have avoided the new picture requirements. So, an extra month for a "minor" error.
To save some time - keep MULTIPLE HI-RESOLUTION LASER PHOTOCOPIES of your barcode pages that DOS sends you. Make sure they're high-res & crisp copies - any cheap copies with spotty print & dirt spots ... are no good. That way, you'll be prepared if there's an RFE - and - there's no question about having the barcode & layout right.
The barcode pages are all the same thing, I think ( at least, the ones I compared from my case were ) - so - you should be OK with theirs.

Hi I'm one of those individuals who got RFE because I left empty line in Q20(DS230) instead just write "present".
NEVER leave blanks spots.
Because I read on VJ that someone did same mistake and got RFE I was able resent corrected DS230 4 days later WITHOUT an actual real RFE.
VJrs are great and only hanging here gives you a lot of info.
Now I'm waiting for case completion, I hope no more RFE . This our 84 day from NOA2.
