My husband just mentioned something to me that I had not thought of before and now I'm panicking. My passport was issued in 2003. Do I need a biometric one to be able to enter the US on an immigrant visa? My interview is in less than 3 weeks so now has not been a good time to think about this!!!!

Mine was issued in 2002 and it's been fine. Here's what the Home Office says about it;
Your current passport will remain valid until its expiry date. You will not need to exchange your passport to a biometric passport, but should apply for a new passport in good time as and when your current passport expires. It is best to allow three weeks for a passport application.Source

I have to laugh, because I had to get a new passport out of fear my interview date would fall after I no longer have 6 months valid on my passport. My interview is on March 20th, just 1 day before it goes less than 6 months

Thanks for the replies! I think my husband is trying to push me over the edge by thinking of random things to panic me in our already stressed out state!
