While I was talking to my hubby today about politics and stuff, I had a thought.
Are we UK citizens who are permanent residents of the US allowed to vote in the UK elections? Even though we are no longer UK residents? If so, how do we register for a postal vote?
Anyone have any idea?

Yes we are allowed to vote, these links should help
Oooh thank you, I assumed we could but didn't know how
ETA: I just checked the links, it says I have to get another British person living overseas to witness me signing the form..... but I don't know anyone in this area! So, we'll see

I applied for a postal vote but they send out ALL postal votes (UK addresses or overseas) at the same time. My forms arrived about 1 day before the election and would never have made it back in time to be counted so I didn't bother.
