Thomas-n-Elena
My wife and I were planning a trip to Russia with our son in the coming fall when it occured to us what a possibly bad idea this may be...

Oops sorry, I must apologize for not having written sooner I have been busy with the new kid and havent had much visa journey but I missed you all terribly especially slim wink.gif .

Well to continue, my wife's cousin in Moscow would like to visit and we thought that maybe we would invite mom too. I dont think mom will have difficulties getting a visitor visa(owns a flat, a husband, grand children and son in Irkutsk has a job etc). The cousin is well a cousin and lives in Moscow, rents but has a job. Will it help to explain that both will be traveling together because mom doesnt speak english(except when I have had too much vodka) but the cousin does and can help mom get around through the various airports to get them here.

I would love any thoughts or website links on where I start this procedure.

thank you everyone ahead of time and respond quitely the boy is asleep.

Welcome back Thomas! I was reading an old post about nuns and Latin grammar yesterday and wondered what you've been up to. Probably fighting that front door (with a snow shovel) and trying to get some shut-eye. Good for you! Real life. (You might want to jump into the fray over in the "my wife left me" thread. Kinda like the AKDiver incident of '06 or the Mr./Mrs. Satellite spat of '07. Interesting stuff, definitely in need of some "smart" (@$$) comments)

As far as your visitor visa stuff, they'll have to do their own applications and you can "support" them. I would definitely NOT set it up as the cousin doing the translating for ma. Kind of makes him look like he could translate his way into an English-speaking job over here in the U.S.

Make sure that you do the DS-156 and I-134 for both of them and you referrence each of them to each other. Ex: "I-134 filed in support of B-2 visa for Mamova and Cousinov who will visit for two weeks in the spring."

Any questions PM me. See ya 'round! Get some sleep!!!
