First I want to thank everyone here for all their advice.. My fiance and I would like to especially thank Manya.. she spent alot of time with my fiance and really got her confidence up.
715am- both reached the embassy
730am- sudden mad rush to cross the street.
between 730-8- security check and we waited outside
8am- My fiance and I entered the building. She gave her interview letter.
appx 840- called up to window 16, there she signed a document, handed over her passport and then they handed over all the evidence back to her. She was glad I was with her, because it was like 10 pounds. It was all labeled "Return to Applicant" with a cover letter. I honestly dont think the CO ever looked at it.(I will explain why later).
We then were told to go pay the bank draft, but the window was closed.
9am- cashier opens, we pay the bank draft and then walk back to Window 16 with the receipt, I felt that the lady was never nice. As we waited there, a woman on a marriage visa was approved, just an hour after they opened the doors.
appx 945- I saw a woman being called up to the window for an interview,(my fiance went to get a snack, she was hungry and needed strength). She was being interviewed for a fiance visa. She was there for about 10 min.. and then I saw the CO(an indian person) walk away and then come back with the dreaded white sheet. This is when I panicked, but I never told my fiance(she was just coming back from her eating).
then I saw the CO read a few docs, spent like 1-2 mins and then he called my fiance... I walked over with her, lugging all the evidence, and then he had her scan her fingers... and he asked me to sit down. But before I did, I handed over my passport to my fiance.
This is what he asked her:(not the right order) btw, my fiance told him that I am here and am avaiable if he has any concerns or questions,.. and showed my passport:
What is your fiances name?
What does he do?
where does he work?
How long has he been in the US?
Why didnt you get married here?
I am divorced, so he also asked:
Do you know about his son?
What grade?
Do you talk to him?
Nothing that she didnt know....
Then he asked if he can speak to me....
seems there was some confusion over the paperwork... I then explained to him that I had to reapply because we didnt get approve.. then he understood... He said ok.. and he was friendly and we chatted and I told him yea.. its been so long.. a very long road.. he said as far as I am concerned.. eevrything is in order.. I dont know why she was denied earlier.. he said maybe people dont understand the culture as well as him(he was indian)... then I said when do you think she will have it.. he said.. everything is in order.. i usually tell the people 1 week.. and he said her security clearance isnt back yet.. but it should be back soon.. we thanked each other and then we left.. we were done by 10am...
If anyone is joining there fiance.. let the CO know that they are there and available.. i think it helps... I think his 1 min talk with him reassured him...
I also am pretty sure that he didnt see any of our paperwork or evidence... he was jsut getting to look at the application when he called her...
It was a very good experience... but i guess if you get the visa it always is.... now we are just waiting for the visa in our hands!!!
