Thanx guys!

Oh Ling I wish I had the visa lol. At this stage we haven't really achieved that much in terms of the actual journey - Alan's petition has now been approved at VSC so we will have to wait for our case to be sent to London and then we'll submit a few more forms, I'll go for my medical and then my interview and THEN we will know if I can have the little stamp that says I can come and stay for 90 days! What a palava!

We are so fortunate our application went through so quickly, my heart and all my good vibes goes out to everyone still waiting.

Have a great day everyone!

I just spent time with my husband together on his days off, now he gets back to work shift again... I just feel like I am sitting here getting old for waiting for the visa approval...

Hey Ling ^o^ I am pretty good. I am not in the States right now. In fact, I was just there for a week before my husband was deployed. Now, he is in Iraq for the third time, so I think I can handle myself better now. I am back in my home country in Taiwan. I will move back to the States in July, preparing for schools to start. I'll begin my Ph.D. this fall at FSU in Tallahassee FL. So, Sarah, I won't be too far away from Atlanta (like 4 hours). Don't forget about me when you and Bex are going to hang out smile.gif.

Ling, I hope your case will go through smoothly. Try all likely and unlikely approaches to expedite your case. Good luck. BTW, I saw your picture on myspace last month. You look great smile.gif I think your about my age...I'm 24. Am I right?

Third time .... yuk! you poor thing. Mine's done it twice so far, it's not nice.
I hope you've got tons of support.
Ph.D? wow, you clever girl! I'm looking forward to hearing about how it goes. The fact you're in Florida is great! No, Bex and I won't be far away .... we must all definately hook up when we're over there.

Ling I agree, you must try everything! There is no reason for them to be dragging their heels on this. This matter falls under their guidelines of expedite for 'National Interest' .... if your Husband is worrying about the visa he's not got his mind on his job which affects the mission which in turn affects National Interest.

Ruby, it's nice to see you back again Hope you're well xx

Hi everyone!!! It's 4:26am here for me, but I am just so exicted about what I got, and wanna post it here and share with you all.

Our Military Expedite Request has been approved and its notice is in the mail today!!! smile.gif We applied for that on Apr 7, and it takes so long, and I thought it was denied, almost gave up... Well, on May 7, the guy in USCIS already called my husband's parents for more addition information they need from us since they were reviewing our case, but they were out for trip, and then on May 9 - Military Spouses Appreciation Day, my husband finally got the access to his email and found an email from USCIS asked for more addition information and my husband faxed them as soon as he got their email. and tonight, my husband found another email from them notice us our expedite request has been approved on May 12!!! - Mmm, the email sent to my husband, and he doesn't get access to internet too often... and today since I subscribed to USCIS Website for my updated case status, I got an email from them tell us that they already have the Approval Notice in the mail!!!

Oh, I am so exicted about this now, was still wondering who would be the next one to be approved, and just couldn't believe it's ME!!! Hey, all ladies or gents here, just keep trying every way you could, and next one would be YOU!!!

And oh, what am I going to do next then?

Good Luck and Keep Trying !!!

hello ling...

How did u do that expedite thing i hope u will share it cos we need a info about that.. we are trying to get my application to be expedite too.. my hubby is in iraq..
B&J.S

Hi, every one here!!! and Mrs Hooks,

Here was what we did about our expedite, as you see my timeline, we got our NOA1 for I-130 on Feb 19, and we didn't know anything about the military expedite before, and we were sitting around waiting for almost 2 months, until Apr 7, I asked my husband to call the 1-800 number for the case status and what we need to do for the rest. As my husband called them, there was a woman answered the phone, as my husband said, he thinks the woman worked in military too since he could tell that from her way talking. The first thing my husband told her was he's deploying in Iraq, and wanted his wife to be in the states when he comes back from R&R or finish his mission in Iraq. And as soon as the woman knew he's deploying in Iraq, she gave my husband a serial number and told him she would fax our case, and asking for expedite. and then on May 9, we got email notice asked for addition information, and the respond required in 20 calendar days, and my husband faxed what they need to them as soon as he read the email within 2 hours. On May 12, our expedite approved. and On May 13 they have it in the mail.

Those were all we did for our expedite, we didn't call the military helpline, we just called the 1-800 number, and I think for your case you could have your husband call the 1-800 or the Military Helpline 1-877-247-4645, tell them your situation and apply for the expedite. And here are what they asked for in the email to the following:

Documents may include: a complete description of the emergent personal
reasons for this expedite: a letter you have written and signed
explaining to the service why you need this case worked in an expedited
manner: a copy of your military orders or a letter from your commanding
officer regarding your deployment / situation: or any other information you
would like to submit to support your expedite request. If you submit a
document in any language other than English, it must be completely
translated. The translator must certify that the translation is accurate
and that he or she is competent to translate.
Note: You must submit the requested foreign language document along
with the translation.

Hope this may help you, waiting for your good News!!! yes.gif

Maybe like a dog senses when it's master is coming home .... does that make sense?

I just hope it's not wishful thinking

More wonderful news!! Thankyou for posting this .....

On a personal note as you're from the Ukraine, do you know of a lady in your history called Anna Yaroslavna? I'm a direct descendant of hers which I found when doing my family tree and I understand she was from Kiev.

No.. I don;t! Ukrainian heritage - that sounds interesting.. I should try to get the family tree too, just for fun.

I don't think military expedite will work for you since it's for American military members. Sorry that I don't know any better.

Family trees are really cool to do, they throw up the wildest things at times .... hence this Ukranian ancestor I found on mine.
I am very much a mongrel ..... I seem to have heritage from everywhere laughing.gif

Hey Lovelies!!!

I hope your all having a fabulous weekend. Fingers crossed next week will be a flurry of approvals. I'm feeling very political this weekend and have been seriously disappointed in some of the comments I've been reading on VJ. Do people seriously consider the convenience of falling in love before they actually fall in love? ... surely thats more like walking into love not falling! I know if I could have chosen I perhaps wouldn't have picked a man that lived on the other side of the world and was currently serving in a war zone. Thats immaterial though as I didn't choose. I woke up one day and was hooked, very little thought went into it at all. Anyway this has all been debated and there is no need to start all over again here on our thread. I just wanted to say how much I support the military filers here on VJ, you guys deserve the 20 second approvals more than anyone else in my honest opinion. Being away from your SO is hard enough, I spend my days wondering when I'm going to see Alan again and making plans for our reunion, I'm glad the days of wondering if I'm going to see him again are gone. I wouldn't wish those days on my worst enemy. Your stronger and braver than the majority of people I have met in my short life.

I hope that this finds you and your SO's safe and well. Your all in my thoughts.

Lots of Love

Note: You must submit the requested foreign language document along

Hi Ruby, I am sorry to reply late here... I've been having problems with the network all week, (I guess maybe it's because of the earthquakes) until tonight it seems better but still not as good as it used to be... I tried to sign in MySpace and finally I made it tonight too... Did you see the pictures of me and my husband I put in there? We haven't get to meet each other since last time he flew to me and married me, so I guess if you are talking of more pictures of me and my husband then has to wait... LOL...

Take Care - oh I saw you had new pictures in myspace, gonna go and check it!!! kicking.gif

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been around here for a while, the network in my city is driving me crazy... expecially my emails, I couldn't even check my emails in the past few days... this is terrible and even now i still have keep refreshing my browser so that I could check and reply here... but at least it gets better than the past few days...

I am thinking of having a new thread for sharing all the interview experiences so that we could help more people need it or about to need it... Everything goes well on your sides!!!

Best Wishes,

Ling

Hi, I am Nadine, I am also a military spouse. We are currently stationed at Barksdale AFB, LA, but about to PCS to Baumholder, Germany.
I have a quick question: I just recieved my conditional greencard in March 2008. I know that in general my time in Germany won't count against me and that I still meet the residence requirements in order to lift conditions.
But how does it work if I want to travel back to the US after being outside the country for more than a year? Usually I would need a re-entry permit, but how is it for the military? I was told I only need a copy of my husbands orders (with my name on it of course) and I shouldn't have any problems at the border. Is that true?

I don't know of sample letter from a CO for expediting without orders, but I'm sure if you have your CO write a letter including the required letterhead and he/she details that your are being deployed on such and such a date .... and orders are not available at this time .... along with stating that the expedite is important to the soldier's wellbeing and moral under the criteria of 'National Interest' you should be ok.

Obviously if would be good to mention that if the process is not expedited it would cause undue stress to the soldier and affect his mission and therefore putting his and the lives of others around him at risk .... all of which is perfectly true.

There isn't a lot they can say to that apart from approved , is there?

Goodluck to you two and I hope it gets resolved soon .... waiting for orders can sometimes be a bit of a joke especially when they are required.

Hi Nadine,

Have you thought about using those PCS orders to expedite the process for citizenship ???
That way you'll have your passport and not have to worry about it all.
From what I understand of the process ... as long as you hold a greencard (even with conditions) .... and there is the military involved .... especially with PCS orders .... you should be able to expedite your citizenship process.

Do discuss this with the CO as he can get involved in that process quite happily.

Sorry I haven't been on your website lately, it's all been a bit manic .... I hope you are well
