It's a not-so-nice way of saying that the girl is older than the guy.

Cougar is a term for an "older" woman who "prowls" for younger guys. Usually, they're 40 somethings who dress way too young and go to bars to prowl for young guys. I don't consider myself one of those but I joke about it...

Cougar = older women out 'hunting' for younger men.

You've got me curious now, what's the age difference? haha

Just to be fair, I'm 26 (27 in June) and my wife just turned 24

Gosh I just realized that my stoopid a$$ answered wrong on the poll... I answered female younger instead of male - blonde moment.

When she was 10 and I was 30, Major problems.
When she was 20 and I was 40, would raise eyebrows
When she was 30 and I was 50, maybe
Now she is 37 and I am 57, no big deal.

I am 19 years, 11 months older than my husband. Doesn't sound as dramatic as 20 years. hee hee

I'm ten years younger than my husband - it only feels weird when I wonder what we were both doing 20 years ago. Me at high school in England doing exams - he was getting married for the first time in the US - both completely oblivious of each other and our futures.

The redhead is certainly older than I am, but for those of you who have seen our pics in Facebook you can attest to the fact that he looks 20 ... just yesterday he GOT CARDED buying cigarettes.... blah.

Wifey is just a bit less then 4 years older then I am. Doubt we would have dated in highschool, but if she had lived in Canada, I would have been in the 9th grade dating a 13th Grader so that would have been kind of cool. In the US she was just starting college when I was in the 9th grade...

Got you beat I am 52 and he is 40. Although my last marriage I was 30 and he was 23.

Well, that answers all my "who's got the 16+ years age differences" questions.

I am six years older than my husband but I am not telling you our ages.

I love that my husband is younger.

My hubby is 44, I am 33. Age difference is really never an issue, except when he makes fun of me for getting all excited when I hear a song from the late 80's/early 90's that reminds me of high school (c'mon, Vanilla Ice ROCKS!!! LOL) .... and then I have to remind him how OLD he was back then!!!

my husband and I have a 15 1/2 year age gap...he just turned 50 this year, I will be 35 in June... wasnt an issue until his son made us grandparents 6 years ago when I was 28!..LOL

Don't feel bad. My daughter gave birth just 2 weeks after my husband and I were married. He is 24 with a 2 year old grandson.

I just wanted to add that I am 33 (turning 34 this year) and hubby is 26 (turning 27 this year)

I just turned 35 and my better half turns 30 in April!! So just over a 5 yr diff!! Always smart to marry younger, need someone to power wash my ### when I'm old!!

Only a man would think of using a power washer to clean a back passage, I'm old skool I'd use a fire hose. Flames9 why wait 'til you're old, bidets are for women.

I had never even heard the term "cougar" before (at least in relation to an older woman chasing a younger man) meeting my wife. Is that a Canadian term? I don't think it's too common down here in the United States.

Anyway... my wife is roughly 2.5 years older than me and if she were to read this, I doubt she'd be very happy with me for stating that. At least I didn't specify age. I won't do that. But really, 2.5 years is nothing.
