Just a little survey for a Friday morning...

I guess I am a memeber of the "Cougar Club" too. I'm 34 and my husband is 23.
Thanks for posting this thread it's a real pick me up! Just got off the phone with my brother-in-law and once again he's asking "What do you guys even have in common?" Anybody else get this?

Umm no, I wouldn't let anyone speak to me that way - how rude!!
Sprailenes
I am a year and a half older than him.

Mentally....20 years younger than him. laughing.gif
KimandRuss
hope you dont mind us outsiders posting...

I'm 38 and he is 29. I've known him since he was 19 and he has always been the wisest man I know. I get carded more than he does! Age means very little.

I guess that makes me a cougar too ...except here I think it's more referred to a good looking/sexy older woman...i'll take that! smile.gif
KarenCee
I'm 45 and my husband is 31. I don't dress younger than I am either...so I really don't consider myself a cougar. LOL, what a term.
Cassie
he is 6 months older than I

Wow. That's so rude!
No one in my family or P's family has ever made comments about our age difference. In fact, after I met the extended family in Germany at Christmas, all the cousins and aunts called his mom to say how much they liked me and how well suited we were to each other. If he were older no one would bat an eye....
j4k
he's 15 years younger, but in our hearts we're the same smile.gif

i don't consider myself a cougar, i was not hunting at all!

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_disparity...l_relationships if your in ur 40's and the other half is in his/her 20/30's, your a cougar! Sorry, its on WIKI, so it must be true!! lol I'm 35, my wife is almost 30, but she acts a lot older than I! her nickname is "structure" lol
j4k
i guess by that definition i'm not a cougar anyway...

this was the question that I was always afraid of getting when I crossed the border to visit the then boyfriend. He's almost 17 years older than me. he doesn't look or act anywhere near as old as he is, most people guess that he's about 5 years older. If we were the same age and had met when we were both 21, I wouldn't have given him the time of day. He was a bit of a wild child and anti-intellectual in his youth, I'm too much of a nerd to have been into that. also, life determines your age more than the calendar does. when we met we were both working seasonally for the Park Service, living in a dorm. he graduated from Uni only a few years before I did. neither of us had been married, neither had kids. And now that we're living in NM, both of us get carded for beer.

but this means that we get to go through all the great age comparisons. I was born 1 week before he graduated from high school. He had been blue-collar party boy for a decade before he went back to school-I was in junior high, etc. hours and days and years of fun comparing our age difference.

Awww Kimmbo, I love it!!! In 1977, I was 3 and hubby was 14. Back in the day, the age diff would have been creepy, but now, no big deal. People usually think he is younger than he is smile.gif

BTW, you have given me a great idea for a photo page .... I have the BEST pic of hubby in the 80's, with a fro and tinted glasses .... I could match a pic of me with big hair .... on second thought, never mind, not if I want hubby to ever speak to me again (he HATES his fro pic!)

It's funny... there is a weird age difference between my husband and I but no one close to us has ever made an issue about it... they're all just happy that each of us have found such a great match. It's people who just meet us who get weird about it "you're a dirty old lady" I'm 31 - hardly the age to be called that.
J&K
Hubby is 33 I'll be 26 in April.

But, I've always acted older than my age, and hubby acts his shoe size so I figure we even out when it comes to age tongue.gif laughing.gif

Age really isn't an issue for us or our families...we have so much in common that it doesn't matter.
Except when I mention that a song, or show, or something was cool when I was in grade 9, and he says "I was in the Navy....in Naples" hee hee.

The only thing that he's worried about, is when we have kids...he doesn't want to be 50 something when the kid graduates. I just roll my eyes at him haha.
Pattu Rani
I am 16 years older than my hubby - I guess I meet the definition of a cougar since I just turned 40, he is 24. laughing.gif Believe me I was NOT 'on the prowl' though... He acts very mature though in a lot of ways more mature than me, LOL... It only makes me pause sometimes when I think I am only 6 years younger than his mom.....
Carlawarla
Gene is 2.5 years younger than me.

kimmbo, I love your scrapbook page, that is really sweet!

Well since we met and were married when we were both in our 30's makes my wife not a cougar then. Though 4 years older isn't a lot. But now she's turned into her 40's and I'm still stuck in my late 30's so does that mean she grows fur now and growls like a cat?

Right, I wouldn't either. But at our age, a 9-1/2-year difference isn't much (he'll be 51 in a few days; I won't be 42 until October). He's also not the oldest man I've been involved with.

We do the what-were-you-doing-when thing too. Especially with 70s song lyrics. At 8 or 9, I didn't exactly interpret some of the more suggestive songs quite the way he did at 18.

It is only good if she can purr.

I am awaiting my fangs to grow in fully. laughing.gif

I have been older and sometimes way older in biological age from lovers in my life.
If you were to ask about my perceived age, that would be different. laughing.gif
I am still 5! ...or 12 depending on the situation.

Being with older men for me just felt too weird, usually....unless they were extremely playful.

I'm just a little over 7 years older than him....same age difference as his mom and dad (she's older too). Age difference doesn't matter, as long as I look younger than him. I'm happy. hahahahaha.

13th Grader

damn where did you go to school that had a 13th grade????

I am 29 and my wife is 25..
Team J and B
He is six years older than me (actually five years and nine months, but who's counting?).

I used to think he was old, but now, I think six years is just perfect enough for him to be the older, more secure manly man in the relationship. tongue.gif

I'm 31, he's 37. He has the body of a college boy...all six pack and lean muscles. I got lucky with this one!

I'm 60; my husband is 54, bald and looks older than me. We both act and feel like we're 25 starting all over again.

I'm 14 years older than hubby, it was never an issue beetween the both of us, I guess that fact that we were really good friends before and never intented to fall in love helped a lot, and not I'm not a cougart!!!!!!! not chasing younger guys!!!! never intented to fall for a younger guy it wasn't on my plans at all, but I'm glad I did!!! he's still my best friend and and my soulmate for sure....
Jack and Barbara
3 1/2 difference between me and my girl, the younger of us. Kinda weird to think a few years back and she was barely legal. ohmy.gif
Scott and Iryna
I hate when this happens in a survey, we're right on the edge of 2 options. I want to choose the option: "Female 6-10 years younger", but she is 10 years, 9 months younger (our birthdays are both on the 2nd of the month). You think I can get away with 6-10, or must I round up and end up in the 11-15 group?
Jack and Barbara
not that it really matters since it is a poll, I'd pick the 6-10 year one since that is accurate and the other one doesn't start until year 11.
