I just got off the phone with operator at NVC and they do not yet have the IV bill. I find this odd since I sent the I-864 and the check was cashed one week later (and our I-864 is being processed right now smile.gif ).
since this is the experimental IV bill I sent I am very anxious to hear something about it.
Is it safe to assume that if there was a problem with them accepting it there would be an RFE?

i too call they still have process yet,i am not using short cut i use the stub they send me. also monday is the holiday so just untill next week and see

It may just take them awhile for the St. Louis "bank" to post the payment and the NVC system to recognize that you have, indeed, paid for the IV bill.

I am keeping positive that the experimental IV bill will work. I sent the full 400$ so I am hoping that is what they look at wink.gif

NVC IV fee bill processing is very flakey to begin with. There is something very "manual" about how the payments are accepted.

In August 2007, there was a 1-week window where it seemed all the IV fee payments got lost! (checks weren't cashed either) However, NVC did finally cash the checks and post the payments to the cases 7 weeks after they received them!

In another isolated incident in August, somebody here sent in their AOS fee payment before the AOS fee bill was generated. However, NVC was able to investigate and find the payment and post it to the case faster than if the person had waited to send it in after the AOS fee bill was generated.

Bottom-line, I find it highly unlikely your money will be lost, and any delays you experience because the experimental shortcut fails will be no more than what you would suffer if you had waited for the IV fee bill to arrive. Check the IVR on Saturday, it might be there. And, until a day or two after the IV payment by the other person (who I would keep in touch with right now) here who sent it in on the same day of yours posts to his case, this is all normal delays and there is nothing to even worry about!

I spoke with my husband about taking this risk and we decided just as you said...the time lost if payment was rejected would be no more then the wait for the bill to arrive here.
hopefully there will be no 7 week delay

what i see the problem with the iv bill is the random number after the case number. if the experiment fail just blame on those number.

hi,

I hope the short cut works... I am averse of short cuts.... So never dared to use it...... took gods name and went through the normal waiting period grind
