Hi all,

By the time my husband was issued his visa, and entered the US we had already been married for over 2 years. The consulate made an (um hum)error and gave him the CR1. We had been told that they could fix it at the port of entry. Their reaction was for him to go back to Morocco and fix it. Of course he said he would fix it here.

Has this happened to anyone else here? Have you sent in the forms? Did you have an issues? How long did it take?

To be totally honest I have been putting this off for quite some time. We had such a huge ordeal just getting the visa that I just didn't have the strength to go head on with them again. I am almost ready to send this in, but was hoping for some input and/or advise.

Thanks tons!

When you enter the USA just show POE officer marriage cert, and the green-card will be coded as IR, and will be UN-Conditional 10 year card.

If POE codes it wrong and you do get CR-Green-card, you can schedule an info pass appointment, and get it corrected, bring welcome letter and marriage cert to the appointment. They will probably tell you to send card back to USCIS along with I-90 and copies of welcome letter and marriage cert explaining the error,

Thanks for the input, but the POE flat out refused to fix it. In fact they were quite nasty about it. We had already scheduled an info pass and was told us to do as you instructed except for the welcome letter. Is that essential?

I just sugest sending a copy of welcome letter, it also shows date of LPR status, being after 2nd wedding anniversary.

Fee for I-90 should be $0 due to administration error.
