I don't know about mailing times to India, but this is how it worked for ours (sent to Canada).

Completed at NVC > 15 days later they generated the interview letter.

Received the letter a week after that. So 3 weeks from completion date to receiving the hard copy interview letter.

Hi,

All consulates in India have switched to appointment processing from Jan 1st'08. So, your appointed representative(ds-3032) should receive the interview letter from NVC directly.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

I thought the applicant (benificiary) would need that letter at the time of the interview, so wouldnt they also recieve one?

The agent copy got sent within the U.S. got sent pretty quickly; got it 2 days after they scheduled the interview.

The beneficiary copy in the international country took quite some time longer. NVC seems to be sending mail internationally by using DHL's Deutsche Post World Net service. Not exactly sure how that service works, but the notice arrived in the ordinary mail about 3 weeks after the interview was scheduled, still just in time.

I believe you could FAX the agent copy if the original doesn't make it to the foreign country in time.

Obviously I don't know about mail been sending after NVC schedule the interview(I wish I were smile.gif), but maybe my info will help anticipating time in which NVC sends mail to foreign country.
I (beneficiary) received 2 letters from NVC.
#First DS 3032 generated December 15 reached Poland January 04 (priority mail)
#Second, confirmation on some corrections in my data generated on February 1 reached Poland on February 15 (also sent by priority mail).
I don't know about NVC sending by DHL service (it might be, it is me who doesn't experience this) but for sure embassy at Warsaw is using DHL for sending back to beneficiaries their passports with visas.
