Ok,
This further explains how screwed up these guys are and how lack of communication and knowledge flows....
Back on October we filled the I-751 for my wife, we got the NOA letter and that was it.. Nothing since, numerous phone calls went nowhere, just wait, did Info pass appt. on the December 31st with the Atlanta Field office and we were told again to wait. So we went ahead and made another info pass appt. and went to the Atlanta office today.. After waiting an hour, we got called up to the window. I told the officer about our situation and she immediately said "I751's don't need Biometrics" this is her word. After explaining to her that I think she might be incorrect, she got mad at me and told me again that "listen you don't need a biometrics, since it’s up to the service centers to ask for one" anyway we left and I called the customer service number and they said the same thing (I still did not believe what they were saying was true) so again after an hour I called back and asked to be escalated to another officer on the phone and that time the officer told me that yes we do need the biometrics.. Apparently what the officer says is sometimes the supervisors don't tell the front desk people that the process has changed (apparently the need for the biometrics started back on August 2006, which again 2 years later and they still don't know) I was so amazed by how dysfunctional USCIS officers and customers service people are.. If someone else had the same problem and went through what we did today than they would have been wayyyy of the road.
Unbelievable, so we wait again, they opened another inquiry case to the CSC.. So we shall see
