QUOTE(SHAPE OF MY HEART @ Feb 20 2008, 03:05 AM)

HI,
MY HUSBAND JUST RECEIVED THE "RE-MAILED" NOA1 today.. WE NOTICED THAT HIS NAME WAS WRONG SPELLED. (CORRECT:JEFFERY, WRONG: JEFFREY)
RECEIVED DATE AND NOA1 ARE THE SAME (JAN.17, 2008) WE RECEIVED THE HARD COPY FEB. 19,2008.
HE WILL CALL TOMORROW FOR THIS ERROR.
IS THERE ANYONE HERE WHO ENCOUNTERED THIS? AND WHAT ARE THE STEPS FOR THIS TO BE FIXED? ITS LIKE A HASSLE. IT'S THEM WHO MADE THE ERROR FOR THE WRONG SPELLING..
THANKS SO MUCH..
I had a similar problem. My name was spelled incorrectly in I-130 NOA1. I called the USCIS number. At that time my EAC# had not made its way to the computer of the first customer service rep. The call got transferred to the supervisor, in whose computer my case was present. Obviously he had more authority than the first guy. Anyway, I told him the correct name and gave my email id and mobile phone#. I was told that this will be corrected in 24 hrs. This was around 9am. Next day around 9am, I got a call from USCIS. It was an unknown number. I was about to let it go to voice mail, but picked it up in the last moment. I am so glad I picked up the call. The guy asked me if I had asked for a name correction. I said yes, and spelled the name for him once again. He said it is being corrected and that I will get an email. Within an hour or so I got an email saying that the name has been corrected. The email also said that I would not get another receipt.
Hope this helps. Did you have similar experience?
